KOUGRA DAY SPECIAL

Royal Kougra
By Leafyapples

Sprinting through the Jungle,
Panting, breathlessly,
The liquid sun, shines upon him,
Through the daunting trees.

His padded paws, pound the earth,
Claws ripping, through the ground,
No creature dares to block his way,
Nor make a breathing sound.

Wind ripples through his luscious mane,
Like a sea of waves, so fierce,
That every creature, boat or ship,
Flees away in fear.

His coat, golden, like the desert sun,
Rich and smooth like silk,
The earthy smell,
The thick warm fur,
Dare, to touch and feel.

His fearsome roar fills the air,
Faster than the wind,
Showing courage, strength and bravery,
So many creatures fear.

At night when he is sleeping,
His chest, moves shallowly,
The midnight stars, gaze upon him,
He glows, so pure and free.

If dare, a fearless creature,
Gaze upon his eyes,
You see beneath the fearsome fur,
At friendship, love, no lies.

This is true as deep within,
He is not all as he seems.
He is king of Neopia, the moon and the sea,
Faithful to his Kingdom,

For all eternity.

The Grey Kougra
By Soaringeagle25

Gloomy drizzle, sheets of rain
Monochromatic scenes of grey
Hovering dark clouds that never wane
And sighs that echo and drift away
So is the life of the Kougra grey
So is the life of the Kougra grey

Cheerful sunbeams never shine
Flower's petals fall away
In a moment of stopped time
Entangled, and here she stays
So is the life of the Kougra grey
So is the life of the Kougra grey

Nay a whisper punctuates
Sodden silence, dreary day
Eternally she seems to wait
In a state of desolate dismay
So is the life of the Kougra grey
So is the life of the Kougra grey

Rounded shoulders, bended form
Tear-stained face turned away
Dull colors washed with storm
Sorrowful eyes complete the display
So is the life of the Kougra grey
So is the life of the Kougra grey

A Kougra Day Beginning
By Ahuddell

As they romp through the forest,
All the brave may hide,
For on this day, this joyous day,
Something is astir.

Their claws are painted bright colors,
And they neatly groom their fur,
What could cause those fierce beasts,
To act in such a way?

Their ears are perked up,
And their tales dance to and fro,
Little cubs bounce with excitement,
Something is happening.

Then at last appears the elder;
His coat must once have been cloud,
But now it is ghostly white with age,
His eyes sparkle with contained laughter.

"Now my friends let us begin,"
His voice echoes through the shushed crowds,
"For some it is the first, for others the last,
All the same let us celebrate."

His eyes sweep the faces before him,
Old friend and new cubs alike,
A smile grows upon the aged face,
"It is Kougra Day!"

A Springly Type of Kougra
By Kiba91592

The cheers of spring have well begun
With pinks and whites abound;
The smells and sights of newborn life
Create the greatest sounds.

While all are glad and full of joy,
One oversees them all;
Her kind heart keeps them safe and sound,
Including big and small.

Her beauty shows in all the trees,
And flowers and grass, too;
She is the color of the world
When it is born anew.

Her lilac pelt is full of shine,
Adorned with purple shapes;
Although she seems most simple now,
It changes when she traipse.

Her coat reflects the golden light
That comes from Mother Sun;
She seems almost angelic when
Her wings become undone.

Their beauty soars above her own
As she unfolds them now;
They stretch and flap and lift her up
As high as the stars, Plough.

This creature of magnificence
Known far throughout the lands
Begins to spread her warmth and joy
Into accepting hands.

"What is she?," you may want to ask;
She is indeed a sight!
A faerie Kougra, in the skies,
Amidst her graceful flight.

She'll spread her love to all who plead
For it to come today;
As now, she wants us all to know:
"It's Happy Kougra Day!"

Kougra's Eyes
By Concertogreat_8

Flecked with colours hot and bright,
Speckled here and there with dyes,
Vibrant hues lend to hidden might.

Clever, crafty, glancing look,
Sunlight hits the iris ring,
Catching on like a golden hook.

Cold as ice, warm as fire,
Honey-bright or electric blue,
Jade-green, violet-red wire.

Pupil glistening black,
Small glint of pure delight
Runs up and round the back.

Blinking lids slide closed,
Over Kougra's mystique eyes
Such strange, round orbs.

Chips of jade and stones rare
Waterfall and cold earth,
Oh most grievous despair.

Heartfelt loyalty, pride,
Steadfast wait, patience
All their time they may bide.

Determination clear, forceful gaze,
Such strength and pride,
Shine within this twisted maze.

Within these oval shapes,
Stare back a hidden power,
That of sight it makes.

One look will startle oh my
And then to look away, caught,
In the Kougra's eye.
