PEOPHIN DAY SPECIAL

Peophin Heroes
by Phadalusfish

Darkness lurks off the Maraquan shore,
Unnamed villians and evil storms,
But the inhabitants of Maraqua
Rarely ever hear of them, or the
Dangers of the seas.

Venuquin, mother of Peophins,
Guards the ships at sea
And their brave sailors
From the turning of the tides
And the tempest clouds.

The Waveriders work unseen,
Nearly unremembered
By the people of the shore.
They hunt for those who work
Dark magic disguised beneath the waves.

Lustra has a certain calling,
Having once been herself a victim
Of the Jetsam clans,
To keep those vicious Neopets
Away from those she guards.

Daedelon’s loyalty earned him
The notice of the faeries, and
His reward is plain to see,
Flames beneath his hooves
That thunder heroes into the watery fray.

Nadia lives in legend
As a paragon of love,
Who waited on the Mystery Island
Shore for her own hero
To return from war.

These and many others
Are memorialized around the world --
On cards, in books, in whispers
On the streets. And here,
In this poem, on Peophin Day.

The Wave
by Sheynacruz

From the chasms of the sea,
Like a whirlpool he awakes
And hurtles to the surface,
Making all the ocean quake.
A Peophin, long thought
To live only in Neopian lore,
Whose valiance is renowned
And revered in Altador.
Though water be his element,
A fire burns within --
The fire of dedication
To his city and his kin.
Lines of age and sternness
Are etched into his face,
Yet this water warrior moves
With ever-startling grace.
Waves ripple gently
Through his cobalt mane,
Draped over this Peophin's
Sturdy, well-built frame.
His mighty lashing tail
Produces eddy currents.
Thus beheld in awe,
He raises shining trident.
Clad in silver armour,
Glint of steel in eye,
He thunders out the ancient battle cry
And all charge at his word, aquatic army
Surging like torpedoes
Through the Neopian sea.
And, in their lead,
Swims he who is most brave --
None other than Marak,
the Wave of waves.

My Lucky Peophin Cards
by Sugarypixiestix2

My favourite Neopian pastime is poker,
especially when I can play my joker.
I love being picked as the dealer,
since my deck is quite the stealer.

They're my lucky Peophin Card set,
when using them I always put in a bet.
Sometimes I think they are charmed,
yet I say nothing so none are alarmed.

Some Neopians think I may be cheating,
which makes them consider fleeting.
I try to prove that I'm not a thief,
but they just look at me in disbelief.

Most days I keep the deck to myself,
hiding them behind my red bookshelf.
Because, even when I play solitaire,
a win is easy and a loss is very rare.

I'd rather play with friends and lose
than win while giving them the blues.
Feeling blessed to merely own them,
for they're more valuable than any gem.

The Time Traveling Peophin
by Dr_tomoe

One day you think to yourself
while carrying a bag
full of all the things
that you've ever had.

Your bag can hold many things
like Petpets, weapons, and pie,
and while it's not a large back
its bigger on the inside.

Where did it come from?
The Aisha tells the story
of the inventory bag and
its creator's glory.

It seems it was made by
a Peophin, you see.
Not a regular one, no.
He could go through history.

A time traveling Peophin,
he was the creator,
made for his travels
and to help while in danger.

He went through Neopian history,
visiting its past and future
and different dimensions of Neopia,
to observe and experience its culture.

It was on one of these trips
she met the Peophin traveler,
and went on many adventures
as his trusted companion.

They encountered grim faerie statues
and robot 'pets with blasters
and, of course, they met Dr. Sloth,
who called himself their master.

But soon the journey ended,
she left to return home,
with the item bag she gives us all
as a memento from her travels.

Perhaps, one day, he'll appear again
with his fancy watch and hat,
and treat another through a trip
through Neopian time and space.

Nadia's Story
by Inland

Like sweeping tides the years go by,
pulling in and taking out.
Always here upon the shore I sit...
oh, can he hear my shout?
So long have I lingered here,
countless days, unnumbered weeks --
I lay along the golden sand
And wait for the one I seek.

I watch the sunrise come and go,
I watch the Flotsams play.
Crashing waves and winding crests,
I wait day after day.
Perhaps I am a poor old fool,
refusing to let go.
I never leave my worn old perch,
for, oh, my heart aches so!

Have I clung too long to him?
A question I have heard
bouncing sharply through my mind.
Are my actions that absurd?
I fear I made a grave mistake
in choosing the path I choose.
But now I am in too far deep,
my fate, it seems, is wove.

So, look out at the ocean shore,
look out and you may see
a sun-baked figure laying there
and that figure is always me.
Look into the fading sky,
see devotion undreamed of,
see the girl who never strays,
the Peophin of Love.

Splendor Of Peophins
by Bruises

Wind skimming
through her mane,
she arches her neck,
proud as can be.

The waves roil,
calling out
while she watches
over land and sea.

Her powerful tail
makes her at home,
deep in the ocean
where she swims free.

Yet, her lovely hooves
set her apart,
to roam the land
and continue her journey.

What creature
could be so lucky
to follow her heart
across land and sea?

None but the Peophins,
with their graceful tails,
glimmering hooves,
and marvelous sheen.

Oh, to be a Peophin,
with their radiant knowledge
and glorious beauty...
'tis why we celebrate their glory.

Peopetra's Funny Day!
by Tsarevna

Many come from quite afar
To see the famous desert star,
She is small and rather stern,
Herding all with just a fern.

Peopatra chased a Seti,
Which was strangely named as Bettie.
As she tried to grasp another,
It was Bettie's foster brother.

All the little Petpets fled,
Something blinked and was very red.
In the corner was a Selket,
Shining eyes belonged to a Mauket.

By the window, a dozen Horus
Brought up noise just like a chorus.
All that racket and house mess
Caused the Peophin to stress.

Tired, worn, and quite sad,
The whole day was rather mad.
Slowly shadows pranced about
And made Peopatra shout.

Some flew up and others down,
Others hid beneath her gown,
The Peophin rejoiced with glee,
As the Petpets did not flee.

There was a Turtmid
And a Geb that fell down and nearly slid.
All the Petpets gathered fast,
It was actually a blast!

Marak The Peophin
by Heartsinasyrup

Protector of water, waves, and whirlpools,
His might be seen within the sea rage.
Brace the lord, the Altadorian Hero,
Guardian of its own distant age.

The Peophin leader, the icon of a town,
Controlling his fury and showing his care.
For all he knew, yet for all he saw,
His clan, he presumed, was his beautiful lair.

Yet it was cold, yet it was sun.
One cannot measure Marak's power to stun.
His trident shows the power of his clan,
Turning every fisherman to its sudden run.

Skin as blue as the sea, a powerful fact.
Breaking the waves and tying our tides.
Acknowledged by his bravest act,
With King Altador, Marak then sides.

The Peophin shall be remembered
In a statue of the purest stone.
To achieve this same deed,
One must risk its own bone.

One cannot remove Marak from its brain.
In this Peophin Day, Neopia calls your name.
You guard us all, you're guarding us again,
Because, in the sea, we all become the same.

Tyrannian Peophin
by Meerca1234212

Dark eyes behind crimson locks not quite neat
Survey desolate plains of scorching heat,
For the land is old, bleak, barren, and dry,
Where the hands of time tick slowly by.

One wouldn’t expect creatures
From this sun-scorched land
To enter deep waters without reprimand,
Yet at water’s edge,
Where rocky land meets sea,
Is the one place where she can feel free.

This Peophin dives
Into the unknown depths below,
Where no Tyrannian 'pets
Have ever dared to go.
The salty waters provide solace and escape
From even the worry that she so much hates.

Through the water she adeptly glides,
For down here she has no need to hide.
Her uneven, jagged, primordial tail
Propels her through these pools without fail.

But back to the surface she must go,
To return and face all her dreadful woes,
Yet the waters give her much hope,
And lessen some of her reasons to mope.

Peophin Species Weapons
by Indulgences

The Peophin can be equipped
With weapons that are great.
They vary in design and shape,
They can annihilate!

Enchanted Blinkers line their eyes.
Full Armour guards their chests.
A Golden Blade can slice a foe,
While Golden Harp arrests.

A Jewelled Face Mask glistens with
A load of emerald gems.
A Mighty Blade is meant to kill.
Prepare a requiem!

A Mighty Flute is meant to lull
An enemy to death.
A Mighty Helmet blocks attacks.
Your 'pet will catch its breath!

A Mighty Shield protects your 'pet
Against attacks from foes.
A Battle Saddle is a thing
No sane 'pet would oppose!

A Bubble can attack a foe,
While Ear Guards guard against
Encroachment by an enemy.
These items are so blessed!

Emblazoned is a Maractite Shield
With glowing shards of blue.
Some Leg Shields do complete the look.
I love the Lightning Hooves!

A Magical Medallion is
Dipped deeply in pure gold.
A Maractite Helm surely is
A wonder to behold!

And finally, an Ultra Mask
To use in sundry fights.
It's armed with gems so powerful,
It gives all foes a fright!

So, these were weapons that I love
For Peophins to wear.
Come celebrate the Peo's Day
By arming them with care!
