DRAIK DAY SPECIAL

Draik Day Celebration
by Indulgences

I gather all my Draiks to me.
I hug them near and close.
With perfect 'pets as fine as these,
I'll never be morose!

My royal Draik has lovely skin,
So bright with turquoise sheen.
Adorned with lovely emerald jewels,
His face is bright and keen!

My pirate Draik is painted well,
Her hook replaces hand.
I love her dashing pirate duds,
The finest in the land!

I'm thinking to adopt one more,
I'm unsure as to which.
A cheaper color may suffice.
I'm poor, instead of rich!

For now I'll simply play some games
And watch my bank funds grow.
I'm set to make another Draik.
My 'pets are all aglow!

They thank me for their future friend.
They gather Petpets, too.
They want to shower our new Draik
With presents that are new.

So, celebrate this holiday
With new Draiks of your own!
You do not want your other Draiks
To feel sad and alone!

A Comforting Bowl Of Draik Soup
by Sugarypixiestix2

The merry month of Gathering has begun,
and that means we're in for lots of fun.
Many holidays occupy this time of year,
one is Draik Day, which is full of cheer.

A good way to start your Draik Day morn
is with a bowl of Draik Soup to adorn.
While nice to look at it's also tasty,
so enjoy your meal but don't be hasty.

A soup like this should be eaten slow,
in order to savour its delicious flow.
It'll wake you up in a warm, cosy way,
and make you smile even if you're grey.

When you're done you can save the bowl,
which will make your cuisine feel whole.
You can fill it with all kinds of food,
especially potatoes when they're stewed.

This is one dish that'll never get old;
some Neopians eat it everyday I'm told.
As the cool breeze of autumn closes in,
Draik Soup is sure to warm up your skin.

The Stealthy Draik
by Comawhite333

He glides like a ninja through the night,
Phasing in and out of shadowy places,
Disguising himself
Behind various faces.

No one ever sees him coming,
But that is his gift,
Blending into the background
Fast and swift.

He's an enigma to most
Since he's without a sound,
Even while running
On graveled ground.

We only know of his existence
Through rumors and whispers,
No other evidence exists
In film or pictures.

We hope that, today,
We'll know for sure
That this creature is real,
And that we can procure
This most cunning Draik
That eyewitnesses have described
As gorgeously opaque.

And, at the risk of coming off
As kind of cliche,
I'll go ahead and end this with
Happy Draik Day!

Hatching Day
by Ragecandybar

A life-filled egg of lapis blue
With polished shell shall soon be due.
Nestled on its leafy patch,
Within this cave the egg will hatch.

Then, cracks splinter across its surface...
The egg quivers, atmosphere nervous.
Something is hatching, the time draws near,
Shell shards shatter, new life is here!

Narrow muzzle struggles out,
Yolky film slicks its snout.
Damp wing membranes stretch full span,
Eyes still milky, the cave it scans.

A Draik is born, miraculous event;
Egg fragments strewn, Kadoaties lament.
The innocent dragon yawns long and wide;
Feeble wings flapping, attempting to fly.

The hatchling waddles out of the cave,
For such a young Draik, he sure is brave.
The outside light blinds his eyes;
Yet, one day he’ll return to the skies.

Journey Of A Skunk Draik (Hide And Seek)
by Flufflepuff

Above thick clouds of indigo,
And 'neath them does he try
To show and shield himself inside
The endless, starry sky.

His belly sports an ashen grey,
His form, a shadow's black.
Bur red eyes scan the ground to seek
Those with observant tact.

(At least, those sparked with wonder, who
Gaze up into the night
And say, "What are those moving stars?
Are they Sloth's satellites?")

His wings with flecks of silver shine
Like his white, shapely ears.
That's why most observers fathom
Naught but their own fears.

He is above these peasants, low
Upon the darkened ground.
The Draik's domain is in the sky,
Where sweet moonlight abounds.

The slender Draik grins at these fools,
Glad they won't ever see
The Magtile-like stripe down his back,
As graceful as can be.

Like meteors, surprise will come
When one bright as the stars
Lifts paws to the skies and cries,
"A Draik! That's what you are!"

He'll fold his wings and plummet down
To rough, tangible earth,
His body low but heart raised high,
Glad someone's seen his worth.

Back to mists and clouds he'll shoot,
But where? It can't be sung.
Ask not the Draik of where he roams,
Less so from where he's come.

Miles And The Wheels
by Lilahne_aluoki

Miles, with his brilliant smiles,
Was a fan of all the wheels.
The green Draik traveled many miles,
Seeking the wheel that had the best deals.

Mediocrity, misfortune, and monotony
Really weren't much fun at all.
They struck him as a little bit phony,
For all they stood so grand and tall.

The Wheel of Excitement, though,
In Faerieland was so much fun!
Losing wasn't too much woe,
But best of all is when he won!

To Brightvale at last Miles returned;
However, the wheels, he missed their spinning!
He couldn't help but be concerned
For all the prizes he wasn't winning.

Brightvale needed its own wheel,
So, from King Hagan, Miles asked a boon,
Which Hagan granted -- what a steal!
400 NP for his wisdom! Swoon!

Thus the Wheel of Knowledge was born,
Which Miles gladly oversees.
A duty to which he's happily sworn
As he collects King Hagan's fees.

So, smile when next you see Miles,
For the Wheel of Knowledge set the bar
Of consecutive days filled with denials
Of that elusive Brightvale avatar!

A Draik Is Born
by Leila_lea

'Twas dark and damp inside the cave,
Fleeing footprints betrayed the "brave."
Stale water, mossy rocks, and mud,
Large, hanging vines of Dragonbuds.
One thing was abundantly clear:
Inside the darkness there is everything to fear.

Racing heart and quickened breath,
The air carries with it the stench of death.
Edging forward into the abyss,
The cave is consumed by a loud, shrieking hiss.
One thing was abundantly clear:
Inside the darkness there is everything to fear.

Racing forward at a faster pace,
Suddenly the walls
Disappeared without a trace.
The ground, decayed by years of rot,
Now gave up the treasure long since sought.
One thing was abundantly clear:
Inside the darkness there is everything to fear.

In a small cavern, stuffy and warm,
Lightmites danced in a synchronised swarm.
Below the swarm a nest was seen,
But was fiercely protected
By the Lightmite queen.
One thing was abundantly clear:
Inside the darkness there is everything to fear.

A true and loving heart is what was needed,
To proceed to the nest unimpeded.
The eyes staring back, finally, quelled the ache,
Because they belonged to a beautiful Draik.
One thing was abundantly clear:
Inside the darkness there is nothing to fear.

Questions For A Draik
by Leadnikeshoes

Hello, Draik!
How do you do?
It's not every day I see one of you.
You're a rare breed, I think you'll find;
I've things to ask, if you don't mind...

How do you fly,
And is it hard?
If I tried, I'd likely end up scarred.
I have a lot of pretty things,
But I'd trade them all to have your wings.

Can you breathe fire
Like legends say,
To keep your enemies away?
Hot enough to burn your legs
(Or maybe even fry some eggs)?

Is it strange
To be born in a nest?
To hatch from an egg, unlike the rest?
Your owner likely took great care
With something so precious and rare.

Oh Draik,
You're a Neopet so great.
Everyone should appreciate
And wave their fin or paw or hand
To you, a Neopet so grand!
