FAERIELAND - Not to be a critic, but I was reading over "A
Neopian's Guide to Faeries", and I am so glad it was not called
"A Neopian's Complete Guide to Faeries", or then it would be all wrong. I mean,
there is this one small, forgotten Faerie, heh, I feel like moonandsun211 and
her Forgotten
Shopkeepers articles, but anyway, there is this one forgotten Faerie:
The Library Faerie.
Who is the Library Faerie? She was the shopkeeper of the Faerie Bookshop and
daily writer of the Faerie
Crossword. At first glance, she looks like a Earth Faerie - put the
wings aren't imprinted like leaves, and plus, they... um... are Purple. I was
extremely confused, so I had to give her an interview.
So when I entered Faerieland's Book Shop I saw the Library Faerie there, just
putting a few books up on the top shelf. "Um, Miss Library Faerie? Miss?" I
asked her.
She turned around. "Oh, a customer. I'm sorry, but my next restock isn't for
a few minutes."
"No no, none of that. I'm a reporter for the Times... you know, the Neopian
Times?" I told her.
"Oh, a reporter. Haven't had one of those around for ages. But then again,
us shopkeepers aren't the most widely published folks around," she said, flying
down. I instantly noticed she was about human-sized, quite strange for a Faerie.
Then again, I think Jhudora is human-sized also, but she is already strange.
Anyway, she put a closed sign on the front door of her shop and asked me to
come into the other side of the store, actually her house. I was amazed by what
I say, huge collections of books, stacks of old issues of The Neopian Times,
a desk, a bed, and an... exercise machine? One more question to ask.
Okay, onto interview mode. If you read interviews, you know what this is like:
epk is me, Library Faerie is her.
epk: This is quite a collection of books you have. Where do they come
from?
Library Faerie: One of my hobbies is to read of course, otherwise I
wouldn't of taken the job. I get my books from all over: The Book Shop in Neopia
Central, Sutek's Scrolls in the Lost Desert, and of course books I publish myself.
And plus, (she pointed to a strange contraption) all my books disappear in a
puff of smoke when anyone, including myself is down with them, so they come
back right here. In fact, I think a When the Wind Blows just came in.
epk: Heh, free books. My Koi would like that. So, do you write books
yourself?
Library Faerie: No, never. I barely have enough time to write a Faerie
Crossword each day and manage my shop. Very hard work to find some time for
myself, about a hour or two a day.
epk: What kind of Faerie are you? Are you a unique Faerie, like the
Negg or Soup, or are you a genetic mutation of an Earth Faerie or something?
Library Faerie: I am a unique Faerie all right. My cousin, Jhudora,
and my sister, an Earth Faerie should know. I teased them all the time. Every
once and a while a Faerie is born different, like the Negg or Soup Faeries.
Normally you can figure out what these Faeries are supposed to be by their selection
of clothing and interests. First they thought I was a Battle Faerie because
I liked to exercise, but that spot was already taken. So maybe I was a Tall
Faerie because of my abnormal height? That didn't sound right. But when I took
the job at the Book Shop and Faerie Crossword, I became the Library Faerie.
I may be considered an Earth since my Mother, Father, and Sister are all Earth,
but my Purple colouring makes me Library until proven otherwise. Besides, Earth
Faeries are some of the shortest Faeries, and I'm huge.
epk: Any significant other?
Library Faerie: Bah, all the Male Faeries went into hiding a long time
ago... they were so embarrassed. Quite funny actually. In Junior High I did
have a boyfriend, but he ran off with all the others. But we'll find them, eventually.
epk: Just to point out, Male Neopets can be painted Faerie, so Male
Faeries do exist. Anyway, so why do you still exercise?
Library Faerie: I'm keeping in tiptop shape just in case I ever get
picked to be a contender in the 1-player Battledome. They're picking up some
lowlifes now, I'm surprised the haven't gotten more Shopkeepers other then Kauvara
and Tiki Tack Man. I'd love to see the Breadmaster!
epk: Some 1-player Battledomers are Collectable Cards. Do you plan on
getting a Collectable Card?
Library Faerie: Lot's of people may not know this: But it's every Neopians
dream to have a Collectable Card based on them. The reason most owners don't
know this is because they don't see Collectable Cards as being anything but
junk. Hopefully I will get a Collectable Card like most other Faeries.
epk: On the Faerie's page, your not included. But they even have Jhudiah
the Island Faerie though, and she only has one page! But you have two? Why is
that?
Library Faerie: Even though I am called a the Library Faerie, lots of
people think I'm an Earth Faerie still. That would be a debate if I was considered
a separate Faerie. I'd need Neopets Staff to give me a makeover first.
epk: How do you see the intelligence stat being used in the near future?
Library Faerie: I believe it'll be used in Neoschools. I think Neoschools
will work that you can take a course, but each course has a minimum IQ requirement
and a few required Back to School Items. I've been in touch with the Techo Shopkeeper
about that actually, but he doesn't say much.
epk: Well, that should do it. Don't forget, you can find the Library
Faerie in Faerie City, which is in Faerieland. Drop in and say hi, or buy a
book or two. Also, if anyone else there knows more about the Library Faerie's
identity, as in if she is Earth or Otherwise, we could use the information.
The What About: series is something I'm working on, you'll see more about that
next time. Bye in six different languages until next time! |
