Lupes are, in short, one of the most relished and popular NeoPets in Neopia.
I have two on my main account, and several others on other accounts. I find
them beautiful and easy to care for--if you raise them right. Lupe packs, or
guilds mainly for Lupes that act like wolves. Lupes have even built their own
vocabulary which can confuse the heck out of somebody if they don't understand
  it.
Lupe Packs are guilds mainly for Lupes, and are often named a pack in
the description. The names normally have something to do with astronomy or nature
in them--example, the Stardust Pack or Forest Prowlers Pack. The way they are
built is normally the same, but not always:
  · Alpha Male - Leader and creator of the pack
  · Alpha Female - Mate of the alpha male, who leads with the Alpha.
Sometimes the Alpha Female is at top and the Alpha Male is in second, depending
  on the case.
  · Beta (Fe)male - Close friend of the Alphas' plays a strong role
  in hunts
  · Beta (Fe)male - The Beta's mate
  · Omega - Last in position; either weak, old, or sickly. Doesn't
  participate in hunts at all.

In the middle--between the betas and omegas--are a variety of things. Sometimes
a guard, pup, battle master, art expert, HTML wizard... whatever your imagination
brings you. The hunts in the pack? Most of the time their prey is oxen, deer,
jackrabbit or other available foods. Irresponsible, unpopular and evil packs
hunt Chias, but you wouldn't want to do that, now would you?
Lupe Role-play is often times... different. Of all role-plays in the
RPG boards, I'd have to say that Lupe ones are the most popular (out of all
NeoPets anyway). A lot of times, they are looking for mates or friends in the
RPs. Other ones are confusing and unable to understand because of the unusual
describing words and whatnot. Either way, the RPs are popular, enjoyable, and
leave you with a smile :)
Lupe Vocabulary comes in handy while role-playing, joining a pack, and
writing a story about Lupes It's basic and easy to memorize :)
 · Pup - A common word for a baby Lupe
  · Lup - A fancy word for a baby Lupe
  · Lupine - Fancy word for Lupe
  · Lupess - Fancy word for a female Lupe
  · Pack - Lupe guild
  · Alpha - Leader of a Lupe pack
  · Beta - Alpha's best bud; second in command

Lupes in Writing have become quite popular. You see them all the time
in The Neopian Times, Neopedia articles, and many a book on heroic Lupes Writers
and readers with Lupes seem to be extremely attracted to such tales of bravery.
Perhaps it is because so many Lupe owners delight in fantasizing their Lupes
as heroes; or, actually, ARE ones.
There are very few tales of Lupes in Romance. Most of them take place in current-times,
and are normally about the Battledome or their packs. Others are in medieval
times, such as Robin Lupe Some even take place in the future, or on good stories
about how the West was won. Whatever the concept, Lupe tales are often about
  action and adventure.
Taking care of your Lupe is easy and enjoyable. Although grooming can
be a hassle in the winter, and when vacuuming up so much Lupe fur when they're
shedding can be a pain, too, Lupe care taking isn't as hard as people think.
They aren't picky eaters, but do need their meat. However, they can never stay
on a diet of just meat--they need vegetables and fruits and grains to keep them
going, too. If your Lupe has gone vegetarian, you can buy meat-flavored-tofu
which has just the same amount of vitamins and minerals your Lupe so sorely
  needs as normal meat does.
When choosing a Lupe from the pound, it is a good idea to get a pup first
so it can get to know you and you can raise it as you please. Make sure that
its eyes look clear and not cloudy, that its gums are pink and no trace of black,
that the teeth are moderately white, that its nose is wet and not working stressfully
and that it doesn't walk with a limp. If you already have a Lupe with these
symptoms, a veterinarian is only necessary. After choosing the pup, make sure
you have all of its needs at home already--long-hair brushes, a room of its
own, toys, and plenty of food. He/she will bond with you and become a good companion
  if you treat it right.
Should you fear getting a Lupe if you already have a Chia? NO! Not if you
get it as a pup. If you adopt a wild or street Lupe, it may have instincts to
attack it. Note, if you will, that only wild Lupes attack Chias for food--and
they only catch about two every week, and eat every single part of it. This
is the circle of life--just like how a wolf kills a rabbit, and eats every part
of it, and may only catch one every 4 to 3 days.
If you adopt an adult Lupe, be up for a challenge. You can "un-teach"
it every bad thing that it has been taught, but through much time and patience.
It really does depend on the Lupe's personality.
Lupe Food is easy to find and easy to feed. Some of it is moderately
expensive for food, example, sugarcoated Lupe treats for 300 NP. The best thing
to do is give these on a rare occasion or when they do something heroic or very
kind. Lupe treats of all kinds are a common favourite, along with chocolate Chias
They specifically enjoy milk-chocolate Chias, but also enjoy white and mint
  chocolate ones.
Wild Lupes mainly prey on deer, oxen, jackrabbits, reindeer and caribou. But
fact over myth, wild Lupes rarely catch a wild Chia. It is not preferred on
their list, as they are small and not as filling as the bigger creatures such
as Caribou. Much like wolves, they mainly prey on the weak, old and sickly,
so the strong ones live on to create strong offspring. This is called the balance
of nature. But let's not get too much into NeoPetology, as I fear that the sciences
behind the lovely creatures can become more boring than watching paint dry on
  the 22nd of Swimming.
PetPets for Lupes are easy to find. Through much research, I have discovered
that the majority of Lupes prefer owning Anubi and Doglefoxes. Perhaps it is
because Lupes enjoy being around other canines if they have no Lupe or Gelert
siblings, or maybe it's not so psychological. You'll have to ask your Lupe that
question. They also tend to enjoy the presence of Kadoaties, Khnums, and Cobralls.
In general, Desert and Original PetPets are the most commonly preferred PetPets
to own for your Lupe Spooky and Pirate PetPets are common as well, but very
few seem to like robotic PetPets. However, some may like robotic PetPets--as
I have spotted some with them, but very, very few. Never, under any circumstances,
give them an Abominable Snowball, EVER.
In conclusion, Lupes are easy to take care of and a great pet to own if you
treat him or her respectfully. They are great battlers and popular adventure
book stars. They will care for a variety of PetPets, specifically Anubi and
Doglefoxes. If you are thinking about adopting a Lupe, be sure you know how
to take care of it! Thank you, this is DragonShark one-seventy-three, signing
  off. |
