Muffins - To Eat or Throw?

by ultralord

Muffins are one of the most powerful items in the Battledome! So we have to answer to the ultimate question, to eat, or to throw?

Muffins are very good Battledome items that can do serious damage. For those of you who don't know, a Battledome muffin is a one-use item, with the different types ranging from 100 NP to around 3000 NP. If you know exactly what muffins are the best for your pet, you can dominate it the Battledome!

Battle Muffin
Eating: The Famous Battle muffin! Sounds dangerous, I wouldn't recommend feeding this to your pet, but it might turn them into a charging warrior!!

Battledome: This is the cheapest muffin you can buy. Doing around 2 Earth + 2 physical, it's an okay muffin for younger pets.

Avg. Price: 100 NP

Jelly Muffin
Eating: Hmm, tastes like chicken! Slippery Jellylike substance, may be great on toast!

Battledome: This is growing to be a decent item! With around 3 air + 3 physical, it's a good weapon for younger pets! WARNING: it may bounce back! It's jelly whadya think…

Avg. price: 150 NP

Evil Muffin
Eating: Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde? Hmm, this is a very mysterious muffin with a really great name.

Battledome: The attack is getting more powerful. This does 3 fire+3 Dark+ 3 physical.

Avg. Price: 450 NP

Fire Muffin
Eating: AHH! Burnt tongue, maybe your Scorchio might like it!!

Battledome: This is like a Grand Lightning Beam, without the defence. It does 4 Light + 4 Fire + 4 physical.

Avg. Price: 1000 NP

Poison Muffin
Eating: I think you can guess for yourself, do you really want to feed your pet something poisonous?

Battledome: This is the rarest Muffin around, but it doesn't mean it's the most powerful. This poisonous thing does 5 dark + 5 Earth + 5 physical. Avg.

Price: 40,000 NP (pretty high price huh!)

Water Muffin
Eating: Man! Where'd it go! I hate when my food slips away!

Battledome: This is my favourite, and a favourite choice among many Neopians who can afford it. Since most people don't use items that block water, this is a great item with a fierce or berserk attack. It does 5 Earth+ 5 Water + 5 Physical.

Avg. price: 2000 NP

Stone Muffin
Eating: Ouch! I chipped a tooth! Must have baked it too long. Hmm…

Battledome: This does the same icons as the poison muffin, but much cheaper. Very good! I like to use it myself! Avg.

Price: 1800 NP

Radioactive Muffin
Eating: Your pet glows and starts to mutate… I wouldn't eat this one; never know what might happen with some radiation!

Battledome: I love this item! It is one of the easiest to block, but a great offensive weapon! It does 5 dark + 5 light + 5 physical.

Avg. Price: 1900 NP

HT items
Now for the Rich and Elite Neopians, they have hidden tower items that can make Muffins for them!! Here are all three of them (you cannot find them in the Hidden Tower anymore, they are retired!)

Hat of the Muffin Man
This hat does 1+ fire icons, but its true power is the ability to create muffins for you each turn you use it! I always thought you made muffins in an oven, but this magical hat creates 1-4 random muffins for you.

Avg. Price: ???

Gloves of the Muffin Man
Not only does this glove do 3 + Fire and 2 + light icons, it can also steal muffins from your opponent! ( It steals random muffins)

Avg. Price:???

Apron of the Muffin Man
Your opponent's greatest weapon if you are a muffin lover!!! This great weapon destroys all of your opponents muffins, so you better watch out for it!

Avg. Price: ???

A Few Tips to Try out your Newly Found Treats!
Since during a battle you can only use the abilities Burrow or Sink once or twice, try to use a muffin right after your opponent uses one of those abilities! Since most people use burrow on their first turn, it's not always smart to waste one of your muffins on the first turn

Use Muffins when you need to. While it may be smart to use one on an opponent with high hp, it is also smart to wait till they have low hp and finish them off. One thing is if you've never used them before, get your favourites and go try them out on Punchbag Bob! You need to know how much damage you do, so you can plan your Battledome strategy to that.

Using two muffins at one time is deadly! Try and use muffins with different icons. Burrow and Sink defend against different icons, but neither of them defends against all icons. So using a water muffin and radioactive muffin combo is smarter than a stone and poison muffin, because they do more icons, which means it is harder for your opponent to block.

Look out for the bargains! If you are the average Neopian you cant afford the powerful rare Hidden Tower items, so you have to pick your muffins carefully! The average prices that I listed are right, so don't buy any muffins above this price (unless you really can afford it!)

A Muffin is a great thing to use while healing your pet! It's great to use right after your opponent has just healed themselves, and it's a great combo with your pets healing item, or a strong defensive item!! Well, I guess not all muffins are for eating. But don't let em go to waste! Keep checking the Shop Wizard, Auctions, and Trading post! Then go have a food fight in the Battledome! Note: You cannot really feed B-Dome Muffins to your pet! Just a fun thing to think about!

(Have any questions or want to test any of your new muffin skills, Neomail to my account Ultralord! I love to battle any time!)
