Neopian Transportation

by cake_hole_8

Neopian Transportation??!! What? There's no such thing! Hah! Well, you're wrong there… This two part series is all about the known, and unknown forms of transportation around Neopia. Not everyone travels on the back of Unis you know!

Now then, let's start with the known. I bet you still think I'm as mad as a Skeith at dinnertime, but what about the Neoferry? The Neoferry is run by natives of Mystery island, who are hired by the Tiki Tack man who originally set up the ferry system to take Neopians to and from his tack shop. Later in the island's history, towards the foundation of "Sacrificers" and the origins of the Island Mystic, the ferry system was the popular way to travel, and the natives who ran the transport were getting piles of Neopoints for doing so. Extra note…the natives then blew their money on a foolish mix of Neggs at the cooking pot.

Okay, enough about the ferry, no one really uses it now, it's gone into disrepair from lack of use. What other means of transportation are there? SKIS!! Well, how else do you expect to get around Terror Mountain? Unknown to most, there is a private ski hire company run by the current owners of the ski lodge. At a price of 6,920 NP (at current inflation prices) the hire of their lush skis does not come cheap, and very few Neopians are lucky enough to be a part of this ski-scheme, which costs so much. Personally, I've managed around Neopia fine for the last few months without spending all my spare cash on trendy skis that look flashy. So next time you narrowly escape being hit by a maniac on skis, shout "HAH! I'm going to save more money on Terror mountain than you" and borrow a sled from the Snow Faerie if you need it, which you probably won't.

Well, well. We've done Mystery island and Terror Mountain, so let's conclude part one with Faerieland.

Now, I know what you're thinking, the magic of Faerieland takes you anywhere you want to go in a flash, but what about the faeries? Now, sure they have wings, but contrary to popular belief, the majority of faeries are really lazy (let's keep that a secret please, they get annoyed very easily)--it's true!! Most faeries are so lazy that the Faerie Queen decided to set up an excellent, and really fun, way to travel!

Now, this amazing reporter managed to sneak a ride (it involved the Dark Faerie and a lot of Neopoints) on this cool mix of magic and technology, the likes of which make the space station look like a piece of Tyrannian stone. There's a big secret here… ready?… it's… a… *cough* oh, all right, it's a cloud.

Oh, okay so all of Faerieland is a cloud, but it doesn't travel at speeds of 40,000 Neomiles per nanosecond, and it doesn't have Fire Faerie assisted thrusters (FFT) and an Air Faerie designed streamlined bodywork (AFB). This is an extremely well kept secret of the faeries, and the way they travel to important meetings, like Faerie Quests.

I pat myself on the back for some astounding research. I betcha can't wait until part two of my lovely report on Neopian Transportation. I'm off now, to take another ride on the cloud. See yoooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....
