There are many facts about the Cool Negg. I have said to myself, What
is a Cool Negg and where did it come from? In this article I hope to answer
some of these questions or at least try and answer questions to the best of my abilities.
I may not be the best person to answer the questions, but I will try
because I have been waiting for someone to explain the Cool Negg in depth and
still I haven't seen anyone attempt it.
First, there is the cost of a Cool
Negg. I think the most obvious point is that the Cool Negg is not only
a rare magical Negg made by the Negg Faerie, but to receive a Cool Negg you must
collect enough Neggs to total up to 181 Negg Tokens. What is a Negg
Token? A Negg Token is a token you get from the Negg Faerie for giving
her a Negg, she keeps them and adds up the total amount of Negg Tokens you have
so you do not lose these precious Negg Tokens. On the Trading Post I have recently
seen Cool Neggs selling for 175,000 NP. The prices vary though; I have
seen the prices range from 160,000 NP to 200,000 NP.
Why do people want Cool
Neggs so badly you may ask? Basically because they raise your pet's stats if
you feed it to them. The stat raise is usually the following:
Gain 1 Level
Gain 2-4 Maximum Hit Points
Gain 2-4 Strength
Gain 2-3 Agility
Something that really makes me think is why doesn't the Cool Negg raise defence?
If it is so cool it should be able to raise defence as defence is also an important
factor of battling! Without defence, the modern Wand Of The Air Faerie would
not be so great because not only does it do decent damage, it also defends very
well for its price. So how could such a beneficial factor of both your battling
items and pet's stats not be involved with a Cool Negg. I think that maybe it
should also raise your pet's defence too. But I guess that's what a Silver Knight
Negg does :)
Secondly, another reason to buy or a Cool Negg is pretty much because it's
cool. Who wouldn't want a Negg that could not only raise your pet's stats but
it also looks cool? It is styling with its sun glasses and its smirk. I always
find it cool to take a look at it on the Trading Post sometimes.
What a lot of people don't realise is that a Cool Negg raises agility. A lot
of Neopians say, "Geez, why does the Cool Negg raise agility because agility
doesn't help me at all in the Battledome." The point I am trying to make
clear is that it raises agility just for the reason of being the Cool Negg.
It is to make your pet look cool. Would a pet look as cool with stats that are
not even with each other as a pet that has equal stats? I believe the Cool Negg
raises agility to make your pet cool with not only its high hit points, strength
and level, but I believe it also raises your agility to make your pet look cool
keeping your stats equal. Just think, it makes you look rich to have a pet with
all of its stats high, especially considering one of those stats is completely
pointless. It's like the glasses on the Cool Negg. They aren't needed, but they
are there to make the Negg look better as is your pet's agility.
The obvious benefits of the Cool Negg is that it is cool and it raises your
pet's stats, but it does come at a high price. I wouldn't advise any new NeoPet
players or NeoPet players that are on a budget to buy Cool Neggs to raise their
stats. This is a fast way for rich people to raise their stats and I would hope
if you are going to use Cool Neggs that you are not going to use the Lab Ray
at the same time because the lab ray lowers your pet's stats sometimes and to
lose stats after spending so much to gain them is a waste of your NP.
Like
I was saying before, there are many other cheaper ways for newer players to
train their NeoPets such as the Swashbuckling
Academy and the Mystery
Island Training School. For these training classes you will either need
to pay for them using Codestones or Dubloons. Sorry to continue with those subjects
would be a whole different article... looks like I've given my two cents. I think
I will be heading out now. If you happen to see me or my pet around give me
a shout and feel free to Neomail me with your opinions :) |
