Draiks, Draiks, and More Draiks! by starry__night__sky | |
DRAIKS - Neopia’s second rarest pet, totaling at 8,417, according to the
Neopet Popularity page,
in all of Neopia! Why are Draiks so rare? Well, they’re limited edition, which
means there are only a certain number which can be created. The Neopets Team release
more of them sometimes, which means that more of them can be created. So, if you’ve
ever wondered how you can get that elusive pet… keep reading! If not… keep reading,
anyway!
Draik Information
Well, before I start telling you how you can get a Draik, perhaps you
may wish to know a bit more about these pets. Here’s what the official description
of a Draik is: These cute little dragons appeared in Neopia one day without
much warning at all… it's as if it came from another world…. Basically,
what you can learn from that is that Draiks are cute, and from a world other
than Neopia. What you can’t find out from that simple description, I’m about
to tell you. Draiks can be painted/turned into in the following 26 colors: Baby,
Blue, Brown, Christmas, Cloud, Fire, Ghost, Glowing, Green, Island, Maraquan,
Mutant, Orange, Pink, Plushie, Purple, Rainbow, Red, Robot, Shadow, Skunk, Starry,
Striped, Tyrannian, White, and Yellow. You can see pictures of Draiks in all
of those colors on this
page by clicking on the links there. Also, there are a variety of Draik-related
items here in Neopia, ranging from books and Neoschool items to armour and toys.
Not to mention the items that can help you actually get a Draik…but more on
that stuff later. Draiks are even the main characters in two games, Meristones
and Escape from Merridel. Now…on to how you can GET a Draik!
Creating a Draik Yes, dear Neopians, it is possible to create a
Draik. It’s just not that probable. The Neopets team only releases Draiks once
and a while, and not that many when they do decide to be a nice TNT. Plus, the
Draiks are created extremely quickly and so you’ll have to be very fast if you
want one. This also means that those who are in the same time zone as the TNT
(The Neopets Team) have a better chance of getting a Draik through this method,
because they can be online when the news is released. The number one most likely
day that Draiks will be released is on Draik Day. Bet you couldn’t have figured
that one out, eh?
Adopting a Draik
Sometimes you may be able to find a Draik in the adoption centre. You can reach
the adoption centre by clicking on ‘Pet Central’ at the sidebar, and then click
that adorable picture of the purple Bruce. This is by far the cheapest way to
get a Draik, although it is also most likely the hardest, as Draiks are not
pets that are often disowned. Even when they are disowned, they get adopted
quickly.
Lab Ray
If you have access to the Secret Lab (you must collect all nine pieces of the
lab map, it costs around 375K to buy all nine pieces) you might just be lucky
enough to get a Draik this way! If you zap your pet with the laboratory ray,
your pet can change species among other things. Although, the odds of this happening
are quite low, sadly, because the lab ray also does things such as lower or
raise your pets stats, change their gender, or change their color. Even if it
does change your pets species, there are still tons of species other than Draik
that your pet may turn into. If you’re lucky enough, and it does happen, I suggest
using the lab ray on a different pet, so that your new Draik does not get changed
into a different species.
Draik Eggs
The “traditional” way of getting a Draik is by hatching a Draik in the Draik Nest from an
Egg. You can buy these Draik Eggs at Meridell Foods, located, of course, in
Meridell.(Which you can get to by clicking on ‘Explore’ on the sidebar, then
on `Meridell’.)Unfortunately, these are hard to come by because they are quite
rare and are often bought fast. You will most likely need a fast computer to
have even a chance at buying a Draik Egg. Your best chance of getting one of
the eggs would be through the Trading Post. The following is a list of Draik
Eggs and there average price range at the TP*:
Red Draik Egg: 1 million
Blue Draik Egg: 700K
Yellow Draik Egg: 700K
Green Draik Egg: 650K
Note: Whatever the color of the egg is, is what color the Draik will be when
it hatches. I.E. A Red Draik Egg would hatch into a Red Draik.
Draik Morphing Potions
If you feed a Draik Morphing Potion of any type to your pet, they will magically
turn into a Draik of whatever color the Draik Morphing Potion was! (I.E. A Fire
Draik Morphing Potion would turn your pet into a Fire Draik) You can buy these
Potions from the Magic Shop, but they are very rare, just like the Draik Eggs.
Here is a list of Draik Morphing Potions and their prices at the TP:
Fire Draik Morphing Potion:1 million-2 million
Red Draik Morphing Potion:1 million
Draik Transmogrification Potion:1 million
Purple Draik Morphing Potion:800K
Blue Draik Morphing Potion:800K
Yellow Draik Morphing Potion:800K
Ghost Draik Morphing Potion:600K-700K
Well, there you have it! All the ways that you, you lucky person, can get a
Draik! Good luck!
