BATTLEDOME - As most of you know, the outcome of the battle mainly starts before you enter
the battle. Depending on how strong the pet is, the equipment they have or just
the experience of the opponent. But in battle there are things that can change
the tide of the battle even if the match is equally matched.
The main thing you can do while in battle is timing. Timing and prediction
is the key to winning most battle. If you can predict what your opponent is
going to do, you can counter it or prevent him from doing it.
Counter: Countering their attack has two steps. Knowing what equipment
they have and having the items to counter it. To start off the battle defend/improved
defend and use items that reduce damage. By doing this you could possible prevent
a major attack (example: two exploding snowballs) and help you survive the round.
Also it can determine what your opponent is using (example: grand lightning
beam and wand of the air faerie) If you still don't know what their basic
attack (something they can use over and over again) keep playing defensively.
Once you know what their basic attack is you can counter it with equipment such
as shadow shields and cloud charms. Countering the opponents attack and attacking
at the same time is a good idea. One ideal situation is a greater staff which
blocks all earth, a strong item such as zaptwig with quench-low (ability) this
provides an attack ranging from 14-16 icons plus blocking all earth and fire
(e.g. Tiki bombs) though this doesn't pack such a punch it can turn the outcome
of the battle if the opponent is totally reliable on one item.
Prevention: you can prevent most of your opponents attack by predicting
what his next move is. A prime situation is when you are threatened to lose
in the next round. Your opponent would usually do either one of the two things,
go out full attack on you or heal and attack less fiercely to try to get more
battle points. To prevent defeat there are two options, defend or heal.
A good way to turn the tide back on to your side is a handy tool called the
Thyora's Tear which prevents all icon damage. This combined with a hypno helmet
or any freezing tool will put you in the chance to kill him. After freezing
the round finish the match with a critical attack (any strong items-snowballs,
muffins). If you don't have a thyoras tear go with Burrow-High and shadow shield
(Blocks all but Dark).
The second strategy is probably more common, healing with a scorchstone or
other healing items when you are about to die. This combined with a hypno helmet
also turns the situation around, but healing should be used as a last option
because they are times when it is superior to defending.
The final prevention is freezing. You can stop your opponent from freezing
you by freezing them at the same time. This takes time to predict but a good
way to find out is to put yourself in their footsteps (thinking what you would
do if you were them).
Random: There are mainly two random things I can think of right now
that can change a situation completely. One is the Eraser of the Dark Faerie, which
deletes one of the opponent's equipment forever. This will either force your
opponent to withdraw from the battle or render him completely useless (unless
he can go on without that item). The other is stealing. Stealing items is actually
a really good tactic to reverse the odds. Just an example I once beat a pet
with 387 hp with my pet that only had 160. By stealing his rod of supernova
(which he was over dependent on) he was made weak. I suggest a green sticky
hand for stealing, due to its low price (30-40k) and it almost steals every
time.
Timing: if you battle constantly and have a good understanding of fighting,
your sense of timing and prediction will increase. There is no way of knowing
when to defend and attack but to fight more battles. Once you learn timing most
fights will be yours (exception of fighting pets that are stronger than you.
So I hope all those who read this will have a better understanding in the strategies
of battling. I hope one day that there will be unique strategies developed by
each person, but, for now the site limits us all. Battle on! |
