Awesome Items! Impossible to Sell by lunabeach | |
HIGH STREET - I think just about everyone has had that item they really like
- a morphing potion, PetPet, or battle item - that they've had to sell so they
can buy something else. For whatever reason, these nice items finally sell for
a lot loss than the Wiz and you just end up wondering what the heck happened.
If you're getting sick of buying items for a lot and then reselling them at
a loss, please read this carefully and see if it helps.
Some items that just don't sell:
Morphing Potions
They take forever to sell, and in most cases you take a loss on the item.
For example, the Faerie Usul Morphing Potion my brother got for 150k. A great
deal if you think about it because Faerie Paint Brushes are going for up to
145k in Auctions and Trades, and an Usul Morphing Potion is between 5 and 10
thousand NP. The item is so rare, though, that my guess on worth would be above
170k, maybe even 200k. But, while trying to trade his potion, my brother found
that people wouldn't offer more than 115k, simply because people don't know
how unbuyables work. That will be my part II article.
Painted PetPets
In case you hadn't noticed, some Faerie PetPets are selling for LESS than
the Faerie PetPet Paint Brush. Here's the silly part: You can sell a Faerie
PetPet Paint Brush for 1,000 NP less than the Wiz price and it will be gone
within a couple of hours. It can take DAYS to sell a Faerie PetPet for the same
price as the brush - meaning the price of the PetPet isn't even factored in.
About a month after the Faerie PetPet PB was released, I bought a Faerie Babaa
for 60k (a very good price since the brush was 65k), but I had bought it on
impulse so two days later I tried to sell it for 55k (10k less than the brush,
and Babaas were upwards of 20 thousand at that point) and it never sold. Fluerette
still has it, lol. All of the Painted PetPets and PetPet Paint Brushes work
this way - great if you want to buy a Painted Pet, horrible if you're trying
to sell one.
Retired Items
Yes, people will drool over your retired items and be very happy if you give
them one, but have you ever tried to sell Black Roses?! Magic Keys used to sell
for 12,000 NP. They've dropped to 3,000 simply because there's NO WHERE for
them to go. Maybe Neopets should consider having Jhudora ask for them? After
all, she's giving away retired mushrooms, maybe she can help get rid of the
excess.
The funniest thing about retired items is that, even though not many people
want to buy Black Roses, the people that do want them still have to pay a lot.
So, my gallery is worth quite a bit, but it'll take me longer to sell off then
it did to buy those items (which was about six months, if anyone is wondering).
Toys
You'd think with all the Plushie Collectors out there, plushies and other
toys would sell for at least a bit more than what they go for in the shop. All
the new plushies stay pretty high in price - until a newer one comes out, that
is. Golden Bikes are pretty cool, right? Well, choosing so carefully told me
it took her a month to sell hers and it ended up going for 10,000 NP less than
the Wiz. And here's a shock - Kanama14 told me it 'took forever' to sell an
Earth Faerie Doll! Those things seem to really be sought after, so I was a bit
surprised by that.
What do you do with these cool, but blasted items? Well, you could advertise
all over the place and annoy people until they buy it (and most likely get frozen
in the process). You could sell it at a loss (doesn't that sound like a good
idea?). Or, you could refuse to sell your items for less than they're worth.
Quite a few people do this, and if other people adopt this train of thought,
you wouldn't be wasting NP by buying something for a lot, and then NEVER being
able to sell it.
Note: So many people ask about this on the boards, I thought I'd
clarify now - "k" as in 10k is 'thousand' so that would be 10,000. |
