WishyXWashy the red Kacheek was stuck at home with NeoWarts. The pharmacy was
too crowded to buy the medicine and the price of the NeoWart Fungus was a whopping
eight thousand Neopoints. Kelsey, Wishy's owner, was feeling very sad for her
little red Kacheek. "Here, have some Vitamin B tablets," Kelsey said, giving
Wishy another one. Wishy popped it into her mouth, knowing it wasn't going to
do her any good, anyway.
That day hadn't been especially good for Kelsey and Wishy. First off, they
got a winning ticket at Tombola but the price was a disgusting bowl of Lice
Rice. Then, when they visited Coltzan's Shrine, the spirit of the dead king
laughed maniacally at the poor little Kacheek and she ran all the way home.
It was one hour later when Kelsey brought her to the Wheel of Excitement, hoping
to cheer her up, but instead it backfired and Wishy was stuck with NeoWarts.
"I hate today," grumbled Wishy, once Kelsey had left the room. Her owner was
making her Asparagus Pie and herbal soup, even though she didn't see how eating
those would cure her.
Suddenly, she heard a very shrill whistle, and sat up in her bed quickly.
It was her friend, Marsilla, the Faerie Kacheek! It was their secret Kacheek
Klub Whistle. Wishy jumped out of bed as softly as she could and hopped over
to the window and pushed it open. Marsilla flew in and told Wishy to get on
her back.
"Why?" asked Wishy, clambering on a bit clumsily.
"Don't tear my wing," was all Marsilla had to say.
Soon, Wishy realised where Marsilla was bringing her - to the Healing Springs!
The clouds grew a bit thicker and Wishy even saw a Barbat playing with a Floud
amongst the clouds. She giggled light-heartedly when suddenly thump, thump,
thump! Wishy fell off Marsilla's back and landed heavily on a cloud, though
luckily she didn't fall through.
"Sorry Wishy! I just saw the cutest little Floud near the cloud and I wanted
to feed him a carrot," giggled Marsilla. "I brought one specially with me, to
see why Flouds can't eat them." And she pulled a carrot out from under her left
wing.
Slightly annoyed, Wishy hopped over to the Water Faerie and asked to be healed
of her NeoWarts. The Water Faerie through her Faerie Dust over the Kacheek,
making her cough and splutter, and said some magical words and quite suddenly
Wishy felt as if something was sweeping her off her feet. She looked down to
her paws and cried out in delight, as she was no longer a red Kacheek, she was
a Cloud Kacheek!
The Water Faerie was more excited that Wishy, and Wishy was pretty amazed.
She jumped off her rock and pranced around the bewildered Kacheeks, screaming
and shrieking Faerie language.
Quite suddenly the whole of Neopia (or so it seemed), came rushing to the
Healing Springs, hearing the news that the Water Faerie could change your pets
colour, even though the chances were extremely slim. Just before Wishy decided
to leave, the Faerie slipped a bottle of something purple into her paws. "Drink
that when you get home." She whispered.
Wishy went home on Marsilla's back. "This must be the worst day ever," grumbled
Wishy, even though her owner told her how lucky she was to be Cloud without
having to be painted. "I'm still stuck with my NeoWarts... oh!" She broke off
with an exclamation, and held out the bottle of purple liquid. "The Faerie told
me to drink this," she said breathlessly, and without a second's hesitation,
tipped the contents of the bottle down her throat. Kelsey stood awaiting the
result. It was just as Wishy thought--She was cured of her NeoWarts! Her spots
disappeared and her itchy feeling went away.
The next day, Kelsey ran happily into the kitchen just as Wishy was sipping
a Banana Milkshake. "Look at this!" she exclaimed, throwing The Neopian Times
across the table. Kelsey unfolded the paper, and to her delight, saw printed
in big, bold words, "The Water Faerie can change your pet's colour! She did,
anyway, to WishyXWashy, the Cloud Kacheek, who used to be red..."
"Wow!" exclaimed Wishy. "Yesterday must've been the best day of my life!"
