Pet Name: ickle_bee
Ickle Bee hatched about 2500 days ago, a little red Elephante. He soon found his feet (and his wings - Bumble bees may think they are special in their non-aerodynamic flying but they have nothing on Elephantes!) and enjoyed exploring Neopia.
Styles have changed in Ickle Bee's time; new neopets have come to the land of Neopia, actually come to think of it, new land has also come to the land of Neopia (Meridell, Brightvale and Altador to name a few)... but he has remained the same... well, almost...
After finding his feet he rapidly set about obtaining a Faerie Paint Brush; he dreamt of flitting about on butterfly wings (to further make a mockery of the laws of physics).
He saved his pennies and dimes, Iscandar played games every day, and soon they were off to the Auction House. It was an exciting day of ups and downs, the bids and brushes flying! Then: SUCCESS! A winning bid and Ickle Bee was grinning from enormous ear to enormous ear. Iscandar could barely keep up as he raced to the Rainbow Pool.
Items have been lost when traveling before, so as he rushed he kept a careful eye on the precious paint brush, never letting it out of his sight, guarding it as a mother Eyrie guards her nest. One eye on the brush, one eye looking out for any nasty denizen of Neopia that may take his coveted prize.
Fortunately, the duo made it to the pool without any traumas (save the few minor heart attacks Ickle Bee suffered: he thought a shadow was the Pant Devil coming for his brush; then the sound of a Tonu with a cold made him jump and examine the scene for Meuka - he didn't want a pile of snot where his brush once was!). Ickle Bee was so pleased with his new unfurling faerie wings he could barely wait for them to dry out before leaping, displaying aeronautical feats that would put Snoopy the Flying Ace to shame!
The picture is a watercolour of his first afternoon out in the orchard, testing his new faerie wings. He danced across the grass as the sun slowly set, the crepuscular rays glistened behind him through the apple trees. (Yes, crepuscular is a real term: crepuscular rays, in atmospheric optics, are rays of sunlight that appear to radiate from a single point in the sky. Crepuscular rays are near-parallel, but appear to diverge because of linear perspective... It is good to learn something new each day.) He had never been so happy - but his happiest days were yet to come.
He was later to be joined by his friends - Rajah Jr (adopted from the pound) set about getting his own paintbrush and won himself a Halloween look. Rainbow Serpent appeared the day Hissis made their debut (who also worked hard for her paint brush so she could match her name). Last, but not least, another pound rescue: Jing Lu. He is working even harder than the others as he strives to one day head to the Rainbow Pool himself, Maraquan paint brush in hand.
