This event happened many years ago in Neopia. Whether
it is true or not, is for you to decide, but all I can tell you now is, There's
more to the Space Faerie than you think.
"M'rylla!" called her best friend, Faye.
Myrylla ran up the steep hill to join her friend.
They giggled and laughed together, for no apparent reason at all.
Myrylla's beautiful blue hair swung behind her,
and sparkled in the sun. Ever since they had met, Faye was sure she was a Faerie.
"Oh, I love your hair, Faerie! Give me!" said
Faye, yanking Myrylla's hair, and they both toppled over. Myrylla was face down
on the grass. "It's my hair! Get your own!" she said, giggling.
Faye looked at her own hair, a dull golden colour.
It was nearly as long as Myrylla's hair, but she tied it to make it more stylish,
while Myrylla left hers natural and loose.
Faye and Myrylla had been best friends since
a year ago. Faye had just got her account, and it took her three months to get
used to it. While she was walking around Neopia, she saw Myrylla and talked
to her immediately.
"Are you a Faerie?" she had asked excitedly.
"No, I don't think so," Myrylla was reply.
"Well, I suppose not - what's your name?"
"Mm?" said Myrylla thoughtfully, as Faye laughed
at her answer. "Shy, aren't you? Well, my name is Faye. I got my account a few
months ago, and I'm from Canada."
"Me too, I think," Myrylla said. "And my name
is Myrylla."
"Not PrettyFaerie?" teased Faye.
Then the two girls and talked to each other and
explored the land, and even though Faye had her account for a couple of months,
she didn't know all the "worlds" very well.
After that day, they became friends. Faye left
to go back home and get off her computer, while Myrylla was alone again, as
she was before she had met Faye. But on the very next day, Faye came back. They
were best friends forever, it seemed.
When Myrylla had brushed off the grass from her
clothes, she and Faye lay down on the grass, looking at the sky. It was a bright
blue, and little white clouds floated in the sky.
"Myrylla, you know Space Stations?" asked Faye.
"Yeah, I think so," replied Myrylla, but Faye
looked at her strangely.
"You think everything, don't you?" said Faye,
teasing her again. "Well, a Space Station is a station in outer space and it
watches down over us..."
"Oh, cool!" exclaimed Myrylla.
"Really, Myrylla, either you really are a Faerie,
or you haven't caught up in technology!"
"I am not a Faerie!"
"Hey, you're making it sound like a bad thing!"
Faye giggled again. Myrylla joined her, but after a while, they stopped laughing
and looked at the sky.
"I bet outer space could be as exciting as Neopia,
especially if you were there!" smiled Faye.
Myrylla, too, smiled. They looked at the sky
again, and at that moment, they heard nothing but silence in the air.
***
The next day, Faye, Myrylla, and their alien Aisha friend, Cheyenne, went up
on the same steep hill. Neither Myrylla or Faye had a Neopet, nor did they want
to. They lived a perfectly happy life, and Faye thought it was cruel using them
as pets.
"What outer space like, Cheyenne?" asked Faye,
as they all lay down on the grass.
"Very cold," joked Cheyenne. They all laughed
and looked at the sky.
"Do you think you're the only alien Aisha in
Neopia - I mean, nobody is really concerned about space at all, here in Neopia..."
"I don't really know, but let's hope I am, or
hunting down alien Aishas would be the next big thing."
Myrylla laughed, and added, "Don't worry, we'll protect you, and maybe even
pretend you're an Aisha with a little costume."
"Hey," said Faye. "Maybe we could build a space
station up there! I'm going to the library this weekend anyway, but don't worry,
I'll still be able to go online."
"But building something like that isn't that
easy," replied Cheyenne. "I mean, even a flying saucer, as you humans call them,
are hard to make! It'll take years! Where are we going to get the materials?
How do will we know what to do?"
"We can get the materials but searching through
Neopia, and maybe even get ourselves famous first. And for your second question,
the library," said Faye. "Miracles do happen, in this world. Like me meeting
you guys. That's more than a miracle. And besides, you still have some parts
from your space ship!"
"Oh, is that what you humans call it now, a space
ship? Well, at least it sounds better than the flying plate..." mumbled Cheyenne,
but she smiled at the miracle bit. "I suppose we could try..."
The three friends looked up at the sky again,
thinking about a Space Station in Neopia, at last. They thought about what jobs
they'd do, what they'd do and what would happen when they finished it. But little
did they know the truth.
***
The very next day, they had start plotting and planning the space station.
"All right, the three questions are; who - who's
going to do what? - where - where are we going to put this station? - when -
when will we start this?" said Faye.
"I'll be the planner, since I can't carry things,"
claimed Cheyenne. "And I will calculate the where part, and you can decide when
we get together."
"Right," replied Faye. "And Myrylla?"
"I'll be back up for both of you, and Cheyenne's
doing to where part. And when is when you're available."
"Okay, great! Now we can get started!"
***
Months went by, and they slowly built their Space Station. They had begun to
trust each other a lot, and were even better friends than before, if that were
even possible. They still messed around while they worked, and Faye still thought
Myrylla was a Faerie and admired her hair.
"Ms. Space Faerie, could you please pass me that
blueprint?" asked Faye.
"Yes ma'am!" said Myrylla, but she couldn't keep
herself from laughing. She passed her the blueprint; the last blueprint they'd
need.
They had nearly finished the space station, and
it was as big as a building. Only a few knew it was there, they didn't become
very famous, but Faye, Myrylla and Cheyenne made lots of money beforehand.
Cheyenne was checking for any flaws they may
have made, while Myrylla passed Faye the blueprint. Suddenly, the Space Station
shook slightly, and it surprised Myrylla, making her fall over.
"What was that?" asked Cheyenne. "I didn't see
any flaws so far. What do you think it was?"
"I'm not sure," replied Faye, reaching down with
her hand to pick up Myrylla.
A few hours later, when all was finally finished,
they lay down on the space station floor as though it were the hill.
"I told you miracles do happen," was the first
thing Faye said.
Cheyenne made a cute smile, closing her eyes.
"Hee, but I hardly did any work at all," she said, her smile turning into a
frown.
"Nonsense!" exclaimed Myrylla and Faye together.
"We wouldn't be anywhere without you! We wouldn't have been anywhere without
each other! You were the brains of our work."
Cheyenne regained her smile. The station shook
again, and this time more violently. They knew something was wrong.
An evil cackle echoed throughout the Space Station,
frightening the three friends. Suddenly, without any warning, robots surrounded
them.
"What's going on?" shrieked Faye.
"It must be... yes... it must be him..." mumbled
Cheyenne.
"Who? What's going on?"
"It was the same guy who made our space ship
crash - Dr. Sloth!"
"Doctor who?" To Faye, a sloth was a large mammal
that climbed trees and was very, very slow...
The robots had guns. In fact, machine guns and
laser guns. Very dangerous guns. They surrounded the three, and they were defenceless.
The evil laugh gave a chill through Myrylla's
spine. Somehow she knew the guest was not so welcoming.
"Thank you for making this wonderful Space Station
for me, now you've served your purpose. You shall be destroyed," said the voice
of Dr. Sloth.
The robots started shooting, as Cheyenne danced
helplessly, avoiding the bullets of the machine guns, and avoiding the rays
of the laser.
Faye was very scared. She hid behind Myrylla,
squeaking and mumbling some words. Surely, she couldn't be killed in Neopia,
could she?
Myrylla was the only one who could even move.
She was scared, but she yelled to Cheyenne, "Use your head!! Deflect the lasers!!"
The alien Aisha looked at the material left over.
There were very strong pieces of shiny metal, and she picked it up. Holding
the piece in front of her, she rammed herself against one of the robots.
It broke into many pieces, and it was clear that
these robots were very weak. Myrylla grabbed Faye's wrist, and they ran together
to where Cheyenne was. Cheyenne picked up the laser gun, while Faye held the
shield. Myrylla attacked the distracted robots, and soon, wings had sprouted
from her back, but she had not known.
Faye noticed, but she continued protect herself
and Cheyenne. Miracles really did happen.
When almost all the robots were gone, a strange
noise seemed to be heard. It was of air rushing out.
"Oh no..." said Cheyenne. "Dr. Sloth has cut
on our air supply! You guys have to get air tanks, or whatever you humans call
them, immediately!! I'll hold off the rest of the robots! Go!"
Myrylla and Faye did as they were told. They
ran across the metallic room and through the door. In front of them, stood Dr.
Sloth.
"Yikes," mumbled Faye. "I never knew a sloth
looked like that."
He wore a large black cloak, and his green antennas
showed above them. He was taller than them, about the size or Myrylla or Faye
and Cheyenne put together. His back was turned to them, but they could tell
he was evil.
Faye coughed and beat at her chest. Dr. Sloth
then turned around and smiled evilly.
"I see you have not been defeated," he said,
grinning. "And you want your precious Space Station, don't you? Along with your
little alien friend. Well, the Space Station will be destroyed with you. Good
bye human."
Myrylla watched him leave, and a second later,
she crouched down to help Faye. The station shook and felt as though it were
being torn apart. It felt extremely hot inside, and the metal could not hold
much more weight.
In the other room, Cheyenne was throwing all
the space junk away, but the metal of the Space Station was extremely week and
could not even hold them. She knew it would be the end for all of them, if they
didn't act quickly.
Cheyenne came in to the room in which Myrylla
and Faye were. Faye coughed and coughed, while Myrylla attempted to breath air
into her.
Cheyenne looked more upset then ever, and squinted
her eyes. "It won't take much more weight. The fire is weakening the metal. We
won't make it."
Faye pushed Myrylla away. She knew what she had
to do.
"Myrylla, I always knew you were a Faerie, and
today I'm proved right," said Faye, picking herself up and reached toward the
door that lead into outer space.
"Don't talk, you'll waste your breath," said
Myrylla, a tear dripping down her cheek.
"And I want you to know, that you guys are the
best friends I've ever known, even better than the ones on Earth," she continued,
ignoring Myrylla. "And we've had the best times together, and now I know both
of you are real in Neopia, and you really will die if you die here. I won't,
though. I'm from Earth, after all, and one day, we may meet again. I know you
don't want me to do this, but it's my final gift to my best friends. I hope
you'll rebuild the Space Station."
The wind and air rushed from around everywhere,
and even a Faerie could not stand the pressure. And with the last good bye,
Faye jumped down, in hope of saving her friends.
"Faye...! Faye!!!" yelled Myrylla, but no sound
could be heard in the silent darkness of outer space.
***
Myrylla walked sadly through the streets of Neopia. Cheyenne had left to build
a grave for Faye, but she had to be alive still, she just had to be.
"Look, mummy!" squealed a young Kacheek to his
mother. "It's the Space Faerie!"
Myrylla looked at her hands. Space Faerie,
she thought. Faye... Tears streamed from her eyes as she ran through
the streets.
On her way to her friend's grave, she took a
pair of scissors and cut her hair. She brought that lock of hair to it and flew
back to outer space, in hoping to find Faye again, and to prevent Dr. Sloth
from anymore harm. Faye could still be alive somewhere, and who knew? Miracles
do happen.
