Okay, so here's the deal. You get an ordinary, cute PetPet, go to a new island
on the Neopian map and magically get a new (not to mention rare) kind of NeoPet!
Cool, right?
Wrong! Here's one humble Neopian's opinion on the (relatively) new addition
to the Neopian family of pets.
A few months ago, no Neopian blinked an eye at the name "Krawk". It was just
another cute PetPet. Then the NeoPets Team decided to do something interesting
that, I think, has endangered all the other
NeoPet species.
How so, you ask? Well, just listen to what I have to say before deciding if
you really hate me or not :p
First of all, I'd like to say that I do not despise Krawks at all! I think
they are very interesting pets and they are probably really cool to have, although
I know I'll never get one (and that's by choice). The only thing I dislike about
them is the way they were brought into Neopia.
We all know that whenever there is something new, we want it. It's human nature;
it's what we do! I bet a lot of you reading this have Tonus right now and were
probably drawn to this article only because it had the name "Krawk" in the title.
I know that a lot of Neopians have quite a bit of money saved up in their little
piggy banks, or at least did until the Krawk came along. Now, some who are the
proud owner of a Krawk may be scrounging around just to get enough food to sustain
their poor pets! It's not in the least bit fair, especially to the other NeoPets
that were born long before the Krawks entered the world. I've noticed that many
Neopians would do nearly anything to get a Krawk, even give up one of their
other pets so they'd have room to get one!
Now come on, I know you've thought about it. Even just once! I know I have.
I even searched through the Trading Post looking at all the offers! But the
pound is already pretty full. Do you really want to send one of your precious
pets to the pound just so you can have another NeoPet that isn't in any way
special, save for the way it is born.
And they cost an arm and a leg to get! No one sells the PetPet Krawk in their
stores anymore. More often than not, they are simply showing it off until someone
comes over to the Trading Post wishing to trade for it. Even then, it's madness!
I mean 200,000 NP and up PLUS various other items for one little PetPet??? Definitely
not worth your time.
There are plenty of other great NeoPets to choose from that don't require
all this stress to get. And they are just as good as any Krawk, maybe even better.
They all have their own unique abilities and traits. But what do Krawks have?
A cool transformation that you only get to experience once before you are completely
broke and can't even support it anymore, that's what. NeoPets are not toys to
be played around with (that's what plushies are for! ^_^).
And has anyone thought of how the Krawks must feel? Nearly everyone thinks
they're cool, but is this only because they are extremely rare? I bet many of
them think this question over every day.
So be kind and think before you buy (or rather trade for) this NeoPet Do you
really want to waste away your entire bank account for this seemingly ordinary
NeoPet? How do your other NeoPets feel about it? I bet that Lupe of yours has
had his eye on those Dubloons for a long time... and I know that Shoyru of yours
would much rather get that nice expensive paintbrush than be shoved into the
pound.
There are so many more options available for the other NeoPets than for the
Krawk. I'm sure this will change, but just think about it. Don't kick out your
much-loved Eyrie--buy her something nice instead! Save up and paint all your
pets lovely colours or strengthen their points to show the rest of Neopia how
much you love them! I know that would impress me a lot more than someone who
has one Krawk and a bunch of neglected NeoPets. |
