About Your PetPet: The Spyder by my_dog_is_named_sam | |
We all know about them. They are cute, cuddly and... okay, Spyders are anything
but that. However, they make great pets, and are wonderful for your NeoPet to
have... unless they have a fear of legs! Is your NeoPet deciding on getting
a Spyder? Better read this first.
We all know what a Spyder looks like. They are black and fuzzy all over, covered
in coarse hair. This keeps the Spyder warm. A Spyder also has four eyes, each
a red circle. The top two are better at seeing then the bottom two. Spyders
also have two, very sharp fangs in their mouths, used for sucking the blood
out of moths and other insects. Behind the Spyder (though you cannot really
see it) is a hole where the thread comes out of, and it is called a thread-spinner.
This thread is used to make Spyder-webs, which are the Spyder's permanent home.
Both male and female Spyders have these thread-spinners. Finally, Spyders have
six legs. These legs make this PetPet very fast.
So, those are the details of the Spyder. Your NeoPet still interested? Good.
Spyders originally came from the Haunted Woods. Their webs were spread across
the spooky tree's branches. Many Spyders would gather together on the same web,
for both warmth and protection from larger predators. Spyders lived in harmony
in the Haunted Woods for a couple hundred years, when a couple of NeoPet ambassadors
from Neopian Central, came and decided to take the Spyders home with them. Sadly
to say, these NeoPet explorers took home the majority of the population. There
are only a few wild Spyders left in the Haunted Woods. Now, most of them are
sold in the Neopian PetPet Shop.
After that event, Spyders were used all over Neopian Central for many things.
Many of their NeoPet owners would use them to help make gowns. Yes, the same
thread that the Spyders use to make their webs, can also be used to make clothing.
By taking apart their web, NeoPets were able to make beautiful dresses, which
only princesses and queens could where.
But after fifty years of this, the queens and princesses got bored of Spyder-made
dresses, and soon Spyders became simple pets.
Okay, so you REALLY want a Spyder? Good for you! My Kau owns one and she loves
her very much. The two spend a whole lot of time together. Still, you need to
know how to take care of your PetPet!
Spyders are insectivores, which means they eat only insects. Moths, slugs
and other bugs, are great for your Spyder. Spyders also need to be brushed AT
LEAST once a day, or their hair will get all tangled. Finally, Spyders need
to be walked, and spend a lot of time outdoors. Remember that they used to be
wild animals, and have a lot of energy up inside them.
Your ready for your Spyder? Great! Grab a heavy bag of Neopoints, and go out
there and buy a Spyder! I assure you that you will not regret it. |
