Life is good!!!

Pet Name: Pepsi_74
Owner: Harper_1618
Breed: Moehog

About Pepsi_74 :

"I watched the other pets playing out of the corner of my eye. They were all so cute and cuddly - the shoyrus, lupes, and kougras... and then there was me, the Moehog, the strange looking one, the clutz, the nerd. I knew the names they called my kind all too well."

The small blue Moehogs voice trailed off. She turned to look at me, pleading me silently for help, for any helpful advice whatsoever.

I folded my wings carefully at my side and nodded, "Your story sounds familiar, friend. In fact, it reminds me of my attitude towards life not long ago. Life as a Moehog can be hard. We are often viewed as misfits, ugly creatures."

The young Moehog sighed, "Then there is no chance for me to ever have a good life!"

"Only if you allow that, Young One," I replied. "Let me tell you my story. Then perhaps you will have the needed inspiration to start your own......."

"My name is Pepsi. I was born in the pound. I never knew either of my parents. I don't remember much about my first few weeks, except that the pound was the scariest place I've ever been. Finally I was rescued. A very nice girl came to the pound one day. She told me she was what people called an adoption agency worker and that I would be living with her temporarily.

Well, my stay was short, but during that time the nice girl trained me. She taught me all sorts of things - from basic survival to fighting in the Battledome. Finally she said it was time for me to find a true owner. I was once again left in the pound, but this time in high spirits.

Then my new owner came. I remember her walking through the Adoption Center doors, a little unsure of herself. She was a newbie. My excitement rose. Maybe she would like me!

Turns out she did like me. I was adopted as her only Neopet. Soon she took me to a place called the Rainbow Springs, where the faeries of Neopia blessed me with a pair of beautiful wings. Life was going great until one day a group of Neopets around my age approached me.

They challenged me to enter the Beauty contest and said I could never win a trophy because my kind was ugly. I ran home to my owner crying. I wasn't ugly, was I? Why did they say those mean things about Moehogs?

My owner sighed and told me that for many Moehogs, life is hard, but that didn't mean I had to give up my happiness. She told me it was a great idea to enter the Beauty Contest. She really believed I could win.

So, I entered. And to cut a long story short, I won a shinning first place trophy. I felt so great, and I felt like I was making an important statement for Moehogs everywhere.

"So, this is my message to you, Young Moehog. Don't be discouraged by others opinion of you. Just get out into the world and strive to make a difference. It's the only way you will find true happiness."

The blue youngster looked up at me and smiled. "You know, you're right. I can make a difference." She trotted to the door, "Thank you once again. I will soon go to begin my quest for happiness, but first, I am going to head on over to the Pet Spotlight Department and submit your story. I think you deserve this award because you are both a great teacher and a great friend. Thanks so much Pepsi_74!"
