It's known to almost all in Neopia that Ryshu the Nimmo trades codestones
to raise the level and stats of your pet. Well, have you ever wondered what
happens to those codestones once you turn them over? What does Ryshu the Nimmo
do with the many codestones he rakes in each day? I had to investigate into
the mysterious life of this little critter to find out.
My journey took me to Mystery Island, the home of Ryshu
the Nimmo. When I got there I had to ask a few of the folk there what they thought
about Ryshu. "He's very generous. Gives me 'mula' and code-rocks every day,"
said the Tombola Man. Now, the codes-rocks must be interpreted to be codestones.
So, this solves a small fragment of my mystery. The Nimmo in question donates
them to the Tombola Man. As for 'mula', the only mula that I know of is money.
Now where in the world would a Ninja Master on Mystery Island get NP? So, I
had to question other Island-folk.
"Purchase expensive fruits. Very expensive. Best fruits," said the Tropical
Food Shop owner.
"One day he came and made a Acorn Slingshot. That's all I've ever heard of
him," the Trading Faerie added.
"Go ask Nimmo the Mysterious in self-form!" the Island Mystic contributed.
So, the Nimmo had enough money to buy two hidden tower items, and buy expensive
fruit. Not bad for a Nimmo who runs a business on codestones. So where is this
money coming from? I have yet to find the answer, but soon enough I will.
I had to go straight to Ryshu's dojo to ask him what was going on. I had to
bring my pet Diabutu to keep me company so Ryshu didn't try to keep me quiet.
So, I began my interrogation.
"I earn no NP here! I collect codestones and that is why you pay for courses
in them. If you don't like it, go to Krawk Island!" the sneaky dojo master said.
"Well than where'd you get the money to buy fruits, pay some NP to Tombola,
and get two Hidden Tower items?" I asked.
"I don't know what you are talking about. I run an honest business here."
After that, I could get no more talking out of Ryshu. So, I had to develop
a different plan. I had to see the Techo Master, who lives with Ryshu.
I began lightly with the elderly Techo. "So I guess Ryshu keeps you full of
food. You show no signs of hunger."
"Meditation heals all things, even hunger."
"So, you never eat?"
"Never."
"Never? Really? Wow, that must be tough."
He levitated in front of me for a while and said nothing.
"How do you stay up in the air like that?" I asked.
"Meditation."
"You do it for days on end, how can that be?"
"Meditation."
"I can't levitate when I meditate."
"You're not doing it right."
I looked at the Techo Master for a while when an idea hit me out of nowhere.
"Being so wise--you can't lie can you?"
"I have no need of lies."
"So nothing is holding you up while you meditate?"
"Nothing is holding me up."
"Nothing is pushing you up while you meditate?"
His eyes widened in surprise. He fell off balance and fell to the ground.
This was my chance.
I ran forward and had Diabutu use a Grand Lightning Beam on the floor. It
gave way to reveal a hoard of codestones below. The shaking of the codestones
under the floor makes the master float. Not only codestones, though. Krawks,
dubloons, paint brushes, and bags of NP! I got to ask the Techo Master one more
question before I was kicked out of the dojo:
"Ryshu sells codestones and makes NP doesn't he?"
"Yes, he does," was the reply, and I was carried off.
Imagine! Ryshu betrayed our trust and set up his own business in Neopia. He
takes our codestones and sells them again. Who knows how much money he had before
inflation, etc. where codestones cost over 50,000 NP! Ryshu the Nimmo is a con
artist extraordinaire!
Next time I'll try to investigate the life of Cap'n Three Legs of Krawk
Island to see what he does with his dubloons! |
