Neopian FAQ by gryphonsong | |
Many people have asked me, "What is the fastest, easiest way to get Neopoints?"
My answer is, "Why does everything have to be done fast for people?"
Also, in case you haven't noticed, nothing is easy! I must say, however, I was
lucky by winning a wand of the Air Faerie on one of my first spins of the Wheel
of Excitement, but I still work hard, and that NP barely lasted me a week! Besides,
if you put your money in the bank and save it, you make even more, anyway.
The Way
I haven't gotten many big breaks since that Wheel of Excitement incident, so
the way to make NP for me is to play games all the time. Also, it helps to sit
in shops when you're not playing games, and wait for them to restock. In this
way, you can help your pet by getting items worth a resale, or just by looking
for a cheap Faerie or book. It may not be fast, but it works.
By the way, don't be fooled by those who claim to be part of the Neopets team
and say that they need your password to confirm this that or the other thing,
and don't fall for people who tell you that if you give them your password,
you will magically have 1,000,000 NP in the morning. Don't forget: Fyora will
never give a discount in the Hidden Tower; so don't use some idiot on the message
boards' link to some page they probably made themselves.
It's Patience
Some commonly known ways to help your Neopets(s) and make NP are, as my daily
routine goes (I recommend this order):
Tombola: This is on Mystery Island. Although the Tiki Man is usually asking
for donations from opening to closing time, there are those rare moments when
he will let you play the game. The prizes aren't usually too great, but there
is a chance for NP, a Faerie, or a codestone. Not to mention that the junky
food he gives you can feed your pets, but I wouldn't recommend the gross food.
The Neopian Bank: This is on the main shops menu. I normally keep my NP safe
away at the bank where fiends like the Bug Brothers and the Ghosts can't get
them. I also stop by every morning to pick up my interest. Most people only
get about 5 NP, but some get 20 or over!
Wheel of Excitement: In Faerieland lays this colorful wheel, and although
most people normally get Mystery Prize, there is always the chance of 200-10,000
NPs, a rare item or a level up for an active pet's Faerie abilities.
Wheel of Mediocrity: In the Tyrannian Jungle, this ugly-looking wheel resides
with the Tyrannian Flotsam, Plesio, to watch over it. You might want to save
your trip to the Healing Springs until after you spin this wheel, as it is known
to commonly land on Pterodactyl and Fireballs. You could also land on Grarrl
and 10-20 NP. That's not to say it's all bad. You could land on a Petpet, Tyrannian
furniture and 100-1,000 NP.
Giant Omelette: While you're in the Tyrannian neighborhood, why not stop at
the Giant Omelette on the Tyrannian Plateau? This giant egg bakes in the sun,
and becomes a large omelette where thousands of hungry Neopets come to get breakfast,
including my own pets. Sometimes you can stumble upon rarer omelettes like Tomato
or rotten ones that will make your pet sick with the dreaded Ugga Ugga.
Healing Springs: The Faerieland Healing Springs can completely heal your pet
of diseases and lack of HP, give your pet more HP than their maximum, or give
you a healing potion or elixir. You can buy healing potions and elixirs, but
they are usually cheaper on the Shop Wizard.
Fruit Machine: The Fruit Machine is in the Lost Desert and, although you rarely
win anything, and you can only use it once a day, the Fruit Machine can do wonderful
things. A friend of mine has even won 15,000 NP, a battle muffin, and a rare
paintbrush!
King Coltzan's Shrine: While you are there, you should probably stop at Coltzan's
Shrine. Even though it seems that Coltzan has been slacking and giving out high
pitched screams and glowing hands more than anything else, he can give you battle
items, desert food, NP or help your pet. Coltzan can improve your pet's statistics,
as well. Unless of course they are at a level 20 which you don't want in the
first place, and then he suddenly decides to give your Uni a level up… He can
sometimes do well.
Another question I get asked a lot is: Which games give out the most Neopoints?
To tell you the complete and utter truth, it is just what you are good at and
what you find fun. You might want to try a lot of different games until you
find one that you are good at. I myself excel in Destruct-O-Match and Pterattack,
and make, if I'm at my best, 4,500 NP after playing both at the maximum of three
times. Not bad, eh? After one week of those two games alone and not spending
any of that NP, I could have about 31,500 NP when the week is done.
One more question: Where did you get all of those paint brushes to paint your
pets? Actually, I was on Neopets near the end of the Rainbow Fountain, where
you could sign up with free sponsors and get a Rainbow Pass each time you signed
up for one. One pass could paint your pet a plain color like red, green, yellow
or blue. Two could paint your pet any color and three could change your pet
to nearly any species and into any color. The Rainbow Fountain has long since
dried up, but who knows? It's come back before, maybe it can come back again!
However, that's not to say I haven't gotten my hands on various Transmogrification
Potions that turn your pet into a mutant, a handful of Christmas paintbrushes,
a starry paintbrush and a faerie paintbrush. Which, all three paintbrushes,
were given to friends who used those brushes to maintain a Christmas Lupe, Faerie
Zafara and a lab map. Now, don't think that if you become my Neofriend, that
I will give you anything, because those friends I know outside of Neopets and
they are good friends. What I am trying to say is that I found those paint brushes,
and found some of them at cheap prices on the Shop Wizard. I just had no use
for the;, they rotted in my shop gallery, and so I decided to put them to good
use.
Last question: How did you make your pets so strong so fast? There's no trick
to it, although, it has been harder to train since Neopets took the dubloons
out of Deckball and Deckswabber, but I get by. All that you have to do is to
time it. Take my Scorchio, for instance; since he is in the Swashbuckling Academy
on Krawk Island, his courses take 6 hours each. I plan it so that each time
he finishes a course; I've earned another dubloon to put him on another one.
My Uni is currently the only one of my pets enrolled at the Mystery Island
Training School, and each of her courses costs me 2 codestones and takes 3 hours
to complete. I can't exactly predict what codestones she will need, so I just
collect a large hoard of them and let them gather dust in my Safety Deposit
Box until they are needed, which usually never happens because she always needs
exactly what I don't have.
Coltzan's Shrine: Coltzan can help your pet, from level to intelligence; or
he can give you items, NP, or nothing at all. Good thing you don't have to pay
him!
Lab Map: I get it all the time. How do I get a lab pet? Well, first of all,
you need all 9 pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map to be able to use the lab
via the Treasure Map in the Puzzles part of the Games section. This can either
make or break your pet. People whine all the time about their pet's gender,
color or species changed. Which is why most people have specified "lab" pets
that they don't mind is turned into a mutated freak, to put it simply.
Faerie Quests: These ladies in the Faerie City always want something. Some
quests, like Earth, you should normally refuse unless your pet has 0 HP and
is dying. However, if you have the NP and the patience to do her quests, why
not just refuse the quest and buy food and a healing potion? Her items are hard
to come by, and are expensive on the Shop Wizard. The Faerie Queen, as rare
as she is, you may want to pass up on. She can sometimes ask for rare items
that sell for 50,000 NP on the market! Sorry, John Chia, no dinner tonight!
Random Events: Who doesn't love a good random event or two? Especially if
it tells you that your pet has suddenly become stronger!
I sincerely hope that this stops the same old people from asking me the same
old questions. By the way, please do not beg me for Neopoints and items after
you read this; I actually spend NP faster than I can make it!
