Zack finally awoke from the fall. He noticed Sen, Joey, and Royo knocked out.
He softly shook them all awake. Royo was the first to wake up. Sen then got
up slowly, still hurt from the fall. Everyone was wide awake, but they were
worried. They were in the same tomb that they weren't allowed in!
"So what do we do now, Joey?" asked Zack.
"You mean me?"
"Duh! So what do we do?"
"Hmm...Take a look around?"
"Great idea," replied Zack, this time he actually meant it. They started to
look around, and there were several carvings on the wall in hieroglyphics. Zack
was the most excited one, looking side by side to see each carving.
Zack noticed a rather colourful carving. "I wonder what this is."
Then the other side of the wall suddenly opened up and a knife came shooting
out at Zack. "Zack! Look out!" cried Joey. He quickly pushed him out of the
way, and the knife just hit the wall.
"What was that?" asked Sen with a petrified look on his face.
"A trap," replied Joey.
"For what?"
"To keep out grave robbers. There must be more traps all over the place."
"Wow, thanks... I guess," said Zack. He was quite surprised to see that Joey
knew so much about the tombs. There was a dark tunnel down the path. The three
decided to see what was at the end, and Zack noticed a strange, transparent
figure. It turned out to be some kind of spirit, and it was looking around.
Zack walked up slowly up to the spirit and tried talking to it. As he got closer,
the spirit appeared to be an aged Desert Lupe.
"Hey...Who are you?" asked Zack.
"I should be asking you the same question. What are you doing here?" answered
the spirit.
"I'm Zack. We kind of fell into this place."
"Oh. Well, I am the servant of this tomb's pharaoh. I came here five thousand
years ago and died here as well for my master."
Then Joey and Sen were going farther into the tunnel. Sen had found a lantern
lying around and it worked quite well. There was exactly two tunnels to choose
from. Joey and Sen (and Royo) had chosen the one on the left. Zack wondered
if that was the right path.
"Excuse me Mr. Spirit, sir. Do you know where the mummy rooms are?" asked Zack.
"Well, it surely isn't the way your friends are going."
"I knew it!"
"I would, in fact, warn them if I were you, that chamber over there is VERY
dangerous, and the only things that survive are the rats."
"Uh oh. Thanks!"
And with that Zack quickly tried to warn the two about the chamber. By the
time Zack got to Joey and Sen, there are a shrill, loud noise. The sound faded
away, and Joey started to look kind of odd.
"Hmm... I wonder where that came from." Joey then put his hand on the wall,
and suddenly the wall was spinning and brought the group into a small round
space. Zack said, "JOEY!!" but then the whole floor was a trap door and through
it the three fell once again down the hole.
***
The fall this time had not knocked out Zack or the others. They were in some
kind of chamber with thick walls that had tiny holes on each side. There was
almost nothing except for a torch on the walls and Joey's lantern. Sen was squeezing
Royo the Anubis so hard that his tongue was hanging right down out of his mouth.
Zack had a Striped Hammer in his hand to be more secure. Joey was busy looking
around the strange chamber.
Joey finally found something noticeable. It was a small lever. Joey examined
the little switch very closely. "Hmmm... I wonder what this does." He pulled
on the lever with all his might and suddenly there was a loud sound. The walls
began to move closer and closer from left to right. The walls were going to
crush them! It was surely another trap that might get them for sure.
"JOEY!!" cried Zack. Joey looked at him back with a funny face, putting his
fingers together and tried smiling.
"Uhh...Sorry, wrong lever."
"I should have NEVER let you lead us here."
"Let me? What do you mean?"
"I was trying to be nice by letting you lead the way today. Now we're gonna
try this another way."
Zack looked all around the strange room and noticed a rope on the ceiling.
He tried pulling it, but nothing happened. Then all of a sudden, sharp spikes
began to come out of the tiny holes in the walls.
"Yep...Your way is better," mumbled Joey. He saw something else next to Sen.
It turned out to be a round platform with hieroglyphics on it. It had a picture
of three pets holding hands together in the air.
"Hey Zack, I know what this is!"
"Huh?"
"It's a stone that's exactly the same as in the game 'The Tomb of Colsharai.'
The hero jumps on the stone, and he escapes from the trap." Joey was already
jumping on the strange thing. Nothing happened!
