It was a coding error ages ago that let a few people create Neopets (in particular Grundos) with weird characters in their names. We fixed it now, but some of these old pets still exist. Having spaces and other weird characters in your pet name can cause all kinds of problems when playing the site, which is why you cannot do that.

We really disliked the name and image for the Hypno Helmet so we updated it. It still does the same thing and is just as rare, but it now has a much better picture.

I am afraid paint brushes don't work like that. You cannot get a brush back once you have used it.
