ICE CAVES - Hey fellow Neopians, long time no talk! As you may have noticed,
my work in the times was absent for about two or three months and has only returned
recently. When I returned to Neopia, I found things to be very different, new
worlds, Neopets, and petpets, not to mention games and all sorts of other little
goodies to keep us occupied. But one thing my watchful gaze realised was something
I’ve come to believe many Neopians over look--The
Neggery. Yes that’s right folks! The simple place where you can exchange
you simple neggs for points, and those points can be exchanged for rare and
useful neggs. But have you ever wondered what happens to your neggs once you
turn them in? The Negg Faerie just walks away with the negg and hands you a
few tokens. This people, is what has been bothering me and I’ve just gotta get
it out of my system!!
The Negg Faerie was reluctant to answer any of my questions as to what she
does with the neggs. But for being such a pest, I received a brown negg in the
face. So could that be what the neggs are used for? Some kind of special substance
that’s put into the weapons we give our Neopets to help defend themselves in
the Battledome?! Maybe, but probably not, partly because the Negg Faerie would
have to have many enslaved Neopets working around the clock to purchase the
weapons and then infest them with the negg pieces and juice. So theory number
one goes out the window like many a rotten negg.
But have you ever wondered why you’re not allowed past that front desk? Why
is that such a big secret, if you even mention the “Back Room” you get a negg
in the face, quite a waste don’t you think? So have you ever wondered how the
Snowager keeps his supplies stocked up to the max, not to mention how half of
the goodies in his cave are neggs, all able to be bought, traded for negg points,
or in some way related to the Neggery! So maybe that’s what happens to our neggs.
The Negg Faerie has some kind of under the table trading going on. She supplies
the Snowager with all the neggs he wants, and in return she doesn’t get turned
into the main course with a rainbow negg on the side. This theory, has no downside,
so it may well be the answer we’re looking for.
So what came first, the Peadackle or the Negg? I know Peadackles don’t lay
neggs, but they've gotta come from somewhere right? Another clue: Maybe The
Negg Faerie uses the neggs we turn in, to grow new neggs! So she’s probably
got her little underground field where she can plant the stalks of the neggs
she receives, and they grow into new neggs that can be distributed all throughout
Neopia!! This theory is relatively reasonable, considering neggs are usually
found by random events and almost all are very rare.
What about the neggs we can buy with our negg points? Again, a very good question
eh? Where do these neggs come from and how do they give your Neopets the abilities,
looks, intelligence, items, or colours that they do? There has to be a way for
the Negg Faerie to create all these neggs and keep them at a relative stock
for the millions of Neopians dropping into the Neggery each day. So how does
she do it? Take the Genius Negg for instance, it looks almost lifelike. With
the glasses and the stalk looking just like hair! So what’s in this negg that
makes your Neopet so intelligent? I guess you could call this negg is food for
thought! And what about the neggs that magically give you an item? That item
just magically appears out of thin air and then your priceless negg is gone
forever!!
So in conclusion, The Negg Faerie is either a lot more magical then we give
her credit for, or she’s got a lot of Neopets working their behinds off to get
the job done! Well believe my theories or not, this Neggery business is one
of the biggest questions to ever bother my simple little brain. So I’ll leave
you with the theories of an average Neopian, with a BIG question. Simple or
