Ever wonder why some people just have loads of luck in getting jobs (and NP)?
Well, it's pretty simple actually. Here are three easy tips to help you get
at least a couple jobs per day....
Tip 1: Quick fingers
While it does help to have a faster computer, sometimes you just have to depend
on luck to get the jobs. Perhaps going in when it isn't the peak hour (the site
is usually the most packed when it's night time in the US) will help. Also,
if you keep one window open in the basic jobs page at all times and refresh
regularly (so as to be there at the beginning of the job distributions), chances
are you may get a job before others.
The employment agency times, as far as I know, are:
0:00:00 Past the NeoPets Hour
0:10:00 Past the NeoPets Hour
0:20:00 Past the NeoPets Hour
0:30:00 Past the NeoPets Hour
0:40:00 Past the NeoPets Hour
0:50:00 Past the NeoPets Hour
Once the jobs start rolling in, it's best that, while your right hand is clicking
away on the mouse, your left hand is hovering over the backspace button to go
back quickly if you don't get it. Likewise, since it's usually the first few
pages of the jobs that get snapped up quickly, try to wait patiently at the
back few pages as more jobs will be created even before the first batch is entirely
snapped up.
Tip 2: Be careful
Lots of people (including me) often make the mistake of doing a job even
when we didn't get it. Remember to look out for the confirmation:
Yes! You got the job!
[Your pet's name]'s task is to [item name(s)]
Also, make sure you check both the time limit and the item before clicking
on it. As there is a time bonus (usually up to 2-300 NP) if you complete quickly,
it's much advised to complete it ASAP, that way, you will get more profit AND
have time to go for more jobs while others are still "shop-wizarding".
If you re lucky, you can probably do 2-4 jobs at one go.
Pay attention though, if you've never heard of the item before (and therefore
have no idea of it's market value) DO NOT TAKE THE JOB. The reward for doing
the job is based on the NeoPets idea of it's value, not what it is actually
selling for in the Shop Wizard. If you've never heard of it, it's probably better
to check the price and wait for the next distribution.
The NeoPets team tends to repeat certain jobs (The most obvious one I've noticed
so far is leeks… hence I have a couple of them ready in the post). So don't
worry if you accidentally bought item for a job you did not get.
Once you've played NeoPets for a while you will have a better idea of most
items' market price. So, the more you play, the more you'll know.
The jobs to watch out for are the ones selling grooming items (brushes, eye
shadow), small toys (plushies, stationery), gifts (birthday cards, gift boxes)
and souvenirs of Mystery Island (bottles of sand, sail boats) and certain battle
items that are realllllyyyyy cheap (space station stuff and basic types of shields).
Also, I like to do the jobs that ask for food that can be bought at the main
food shop. As the prices are usually more expensive on the Wiz, I have loads
of basic food in my SDB ready for quests and the agency… so raiding the food
shop once in a while is a plus too.
Tip 3: Know when to quit
If you find that you've taken a job that is impossible to do (minimum/no
profit or an impossible time limit), go for the 200 NP quitting fee. This way,
the uncompleted job is not counted as a failure and you are one step closer
to gaining a level.
However, if you fail a job, don't worry. The ranking promotion is adjusted
so that it just requires you to do one extra job to make up for a failed one.
Well, that's it. I hope you have an easier time earning those precious NP
now :) Have fun!
Note: The jobs specified are only for the basic jobs category. For those who
wish to do the advanced jobs (who doesn't?), you require a job coupon. But I
do not advice you to just run out and buy a coupon just because the rewards
seem better--the coupon are worth A LOT so it's better to just sell the coupon
itself rather than use it. |
