Everyone wants his or her pet to stay at the Astro-Villa, the most expensive
and luxurious hotel known to Neopians. But has anyone actually been there? Well,
I went down there (or should I say up?) to see what all the hype is about. I
took my red Shoyru (CrimsonMagnum) and his PetPet (Chip the White Anubis) up
to the space station to see what was in store.
As I entered the doors (motion sensing automatic openers) I could see a blue
Grundo with a tuxedo on sitting at the front desk. "I'd like a room for me and
my pet and his pet please." I said after ringing the bell.
"Exuled ro repus exuled?" he asked.
I stared blankly at him as another Grundo, this one green, walked from the
back room.
"Si gnihtyreve thgirla?" he said to the one at the counter.
"Eh skaeps hsiglne," the blue one replied.
"Deluxe or Super Deluxe?" the green one said, obviously understanding my dilemma.
"Super deluxe please," I answered.
"500 NP per night," he said as two red Grundos wearing bellhop uniforms escorted
me to a strange glowing circle on the ground. They handed me a card and pointed
at the slot on the panel in front of me, I smiled and handed 25 Neopoints to
each of them.
I handed the card to CrimsonMagnum and he put it in the slot. Suddenly the
floor seemed to have dropped out from under us and it felt like we were falling,
but strangely we were moving up. CrimsonMagnum's Anubis was barking and jumping
around happily. When the ride finally stopped, we entered a huge hallway with
beautiful chandeliers (better than the ones in my NeoHome!), and a great view
of Faerieland (Jhudora's Cloud is actually quite beautiful), and a fountain
in the middle of the hall.
I took the first door on the left, which led to the beautiful five-star restaurant,
Café ala Grundo At the waiter's podium, a Grundo sat on a stool (I think I saw
a few books piled up on it) shuffling through some reservations. I was taken
to a table and handed 3 menus. Reading through mine, I could see they were far
out of my price range (9,800 NP for appetisers??) and I decided to check out
the pool.
The pool was in a room made of transparishield, allowing swimmers to watch
the occasional shooting star and meteors. CrimsonMagnum ran and jumped into
the water and Chip (his Anubis, if you forgot) hid behind my leg, scared of
the water. I picked him up and took him over to the cushiony seats surrounding
the table. I watched CrimsonMagnum play volleyball with a Wocky and saw chip
anxiously stare at a sandbox that was near the pool. I picked him up and brought
him to it. He walked to a Snarhook and commenced a game of roll the beach ball.
I sat down next to a Poogle near the pool and watched CrimsonMagnum playing
tag with a Flotsam. "Let's go back to the lobby, they have free cookies!" CrimsonMagnum
said. I called Chip and we walked out to the lobby.
I sat down on an extremely soft sofa and handed CrimsonMagnum and Chip each
a cookie. I saw a game of cheat at a nearby table and walked over, making sure
CrimsonMagnum and Chip were keeping out of trouble before I got up.
I took a seat next to a Bruce (Could it have been Brucey B???) and looked
around at the participants. 00 Hog was there, which worried me because he had
a reputation for winning. But the person sitting next to him was even more intimidating,
that's right, it was the one and only Spectre. I quickly got up and went back
to the sofa.
CrimsonMagnum and Chip had fallen asleep so I picked them up gently and took
them to our room. The room was gorgeous! The walls were trimmed with gold, the
ceiling made of transparashield and the floor was marble in the bathroom, and
extremely plush carpet in the bedroom. My pets had woken up and CrimsonMagnum
challenged me to some video games. We shuffled through them, seeing NeoQuest,
Meerca Chase, and many many others. We finally decided to play bumper cars,
and after hitting about 20 mines, I lost. The night was still young, so I decided
to check out the spa, because CrimsonMagnum had fallen asleep next to Chip on
the bed.
The spa was just as beautiful as the bedroom, and they had free fluffy towels!
I decided to try out the sauna because the hot tub was full and the massages
were a bit pricey. After a thirty minute relaxing nap in the steam I decided
to go back to the room and go to sleep on the couch, because CrimsonMagnum and
his pet were on the bed (argh).
And now for the recap, while pricey, the service is excellent and the food
smells great. I give it 5 stars and I suggest anyone going on vacation to let
their pet stay at the wonderful luxurious Astro-Villa. |
