The Greatest Tools of Any Successful Neopian: Patience and Skill by buenaventura | |
Remember when you wanted that item or goal you desired so much, you just wish
a magical genie or something like a random event will pop out of nowhere and
grant you such a wish? Well, stop dreaming: this is Neopia, and the Neopian
community you’re dealing with. Those random events are so uncommon; the odds
are nearly a zillion to one. Don’t set your hopes up on such a thing that’s
so unreliable: it will probably take more than 500+ hours straight, just surfing
on a T1 connection, without ever getting up to use the bathroom or eat, just
to hopefully find something you’ll never expect. Come on, do not be too desperate
and abuse yourself. There are two amazing, yet common techniques that might
help you get what you want: A little bit of patience, and your skill.
What is patience and skill, and why are those the most important techniques?
Patience is a virtue. Just go at your own pace, and keep doing it until you
reach the goal. Don’t be in a hurry: wait for it to come as you work hard. Like
most people say, hard work always pays off! You just have to know how much work
and how much time you are about to do in a certain task, from achieving a goal
to buy an item at 2,000, all the way to the Hidden Tower items... you have to
be patient in saving NP over a long period of time. Also, don’t be too competitive--you
can’t own everything. Let some people have items too. That way, like when a
totally exclusive 30-only-in-Neopia item appears (like the Smuggler’s Cove items),
let other people take them if you know you can’t get it. If it’s in unlimited
quantity, go your own pace. For example, you want that ultra-expensive Cloud
Rod, yet you are millions of NP away from its price tag. You should first know
that for the average Neopian, it might take 6+ months minimum to save NP for
that item. Just don’t let that be the only thing on your mind, just follow your
own schedule and save NP the way most users are doing now.
Skill is the ability rate of doing something. If you are skillful at games,
that is probably your strongest ability in making NP, which will be your major
income for NP. Or, if you’re good at the Stock Market, or being a shop maker,
(both have to deal with profit), you can make a lot of NP in profits from items
sold or of stocks sold. If you’re good at anything that will help you toward
your Neopian goal, master it. That’s your skill.
If you combine skill and patience, it will form into a good habit of doing
what you do to achieve your Neopian goal, and waiting as you progress towards
it. Make it a habit. Don’t stop if you really desire your goal of achieving
it. This applies to everything and anything that you want to make the best out
of. Don’t just site there--do something, and use your skill and patience.
If we all were determined to set our goals this way, a lot of us Neopians could
get anything we want. I hope this helps Neopians realise that these two simple
traits will help in anything desired--Hidden Tower items to Smuggler’s Cove
items. It just takes a bit of patience, and your skills. |
