You probably heard of the Noodles
getting locked with Mina and Rainyn in our basement a while ago. And
those horrible Spyders almost destroying poor Rainyn. Well, what you don't know
is still to come...
I tapped my foot, waiting for an explanation from PlushPaw, my skunk Lupess.
She goes by Plushie because of her huge collection.
"Well?" I asked, knowing my three other pets snickered behind my back.
Plushie was silent.
"Plushie, were you jealous?" I asked, hoping to get an answer.
"You never throw parties like that for me!" she whined.
"Because you are not what I'd call a good example for your younger sisters!"
I tapped my foot.
"Awwww, Mum!" she said, lowering her head.
"Plushie, you are pretty lucky. The Noodles gave me some Anti-NeoBug so we
can get rid of that awful Spyder colony we have. YOU get to clean the basement."
I handed her the can.
"What if your sister and the Noodles were killed by those horrible things?"
I continued lecturing her.
"They weren't, OK?" Plushie mumbled.
"Well still. That didn't change the fact that you locked them in the basement!
You know me, I never take time to clean."
I stopped tapping my foot and pointed to the basement. She mumbled something
I better not repeat.
I turned to Mina and Rainyn.
"Mina, you are lucky to have such a pet," Rainyn barked and started jumping
with happiness. "And for him," I pointed to the excited Blue Doglefox, "I'll
let you buy a few treats, and you can send him to that deluxe PetPet Hotel I've
heard of."
I hand her 2,000 NP and she picked up Rainyn and jumped out the door.
A while later...
"Good. I bought you this dazzling collar, some treats and... oh, ya! Now you
get to go to that fancy PetPet Hotel Mum's been talking about." Mina patted
Rainyn's head.
Mina entered a large baby-blue building. The Aisha at the desk was half asleep
and a Kadoatie was eating her lunch.
At that point, Rainyn jumped and chased the Kadoatie all around the desk, awakening
the Aisha.
"Rainyn, sit! Stay! STOP!" Mina ran after the Doglefox and tried to catch him.
When she finally did, the White Aisha stared blankly at her.
"Arrrf! Grrrr!" Rainyn kept struggling and tried to free himself from Mina's
paws.
"Sorry about that, but he's the Kadoatie chasing champ!" Mina smiled nervously.
"Ya, well, Patt sometimes chases Miamice and Tigermice, so never mind." The
Aisha was incredibly kind.
"Umm, yes. I would like to..." Mina started.
"PetPet species, name and colour, PetPet owner name, gender, species and colour,
NeoPet owner," the Aisha started, writing on a piece of paper.
"Blue Doglefox, Rainyn, I'm LuminaPaw, female Lupe and my owner is Miss_Laddy,"
Mina said.
"What nickname does your owner have?" the Aisha asked.
"Huh? Nickname? Ummm... I heard people calling her Missy, some calling her
Azzy. But from what I heard, Missy."
"Okay, gimme Rainyn." The Aisha took the struggling Blue Doglefox and whistled.
A red Kyrii took Rainyn on a pillow.
"So, how much?" Mina asked, trembling with five hundred NP in her hands.
"Oh, 100 NP for the best conditions." The Aisha extended a paw. Mina sighed
and gave her the NP.
Mina left. When she got home, all she had was 400 NP and a giant box of PetPet
Treats.
I was reading The Neopian Times.
"Hey, Mina, look. The story about how you got trapped in the basement with
the Noodles." I threw the newspaper at her. She caught it and started reading.

Three days passed and Rainyn came back home. I was hoping he wouldn't be spoiled
rotten. He wasn't.
Mina gave him some of the PetPet treats she bought.
"Mum," Mina started, "the box says 'secondary effects might annoy you, but
will not bother your PetPet. What does it mean?" Mina showed me the box.
"Honey, it probably means he'll be hyper or something," I said, still reading
The Neopian Times.
"Hyper? Like that time he drank you Cappuccino and jumped on the furniture
for weeks?" Mina said, still reading. "Ya, but those things are expensive, so
let Rainyn have them. I'm not made of NP, you know."
Mina raised an eyebrow and poured the treats in Rainyn's bowl. He started eating
happily.
The next morning I was dragging myself to the kitchen, in desperate need of
caffeine. To my surprise, Rainyn wasn't hyper or anything. He stayed on the
table (the PetPets are allowed to stay on the table, since they're so clean)
and looked at me carefully.
"Can I have some?" a voice asked.
I flinched and looked around. I drank a can of neocola, thinking I was still
asleep.
"Can I, huh? Huh?" the voice continued. It sounded like a little girl was talking.
But the only one in the kitchen was Rainyn, and he couldn't talk and definitely
wasn't a girl. But it WAS him/her who talked.
"Come on, don't hog all the neocola," it said.
I jumped on my feet faster than you can say... erm... well, pretty fast.
"You can talk?" I said. It was more like a sentence than a question.
"Yup," it said.
"And you're female?" I continued.
"Double yup," she said.
*THUD*
"...Mum, Mum, wake up!"
I woke up and realised I fainted. Mina and PricelessPaw (she goes by Pry) my
faerie Lupe were shaking me into my senses.
"Ouch... my head. Wait, Rainyn, where is she?" I jumped on my feet despite
the pain. Rainyn was on the table, giggling.
"You took quite a fall!" the despicable Blue Doglefox giggled.
"Let me see if I get this right: You can talk and you're female," I said. Rainyn,
Mina and Pry nodded.
"And there's something else," Rainyn said.
"I'm not sure I want to hear," I said, taking a seat and continuing to drink
my neocola.
"I'm gonna have puppies!" she said, jumping all over the table.
*THUD*
This time, Mina and Pry collapsed.
"Umm... guess they didn't take the news too well," Rainyn said, leaning over
the edge of the table and looking and the two Lupes.
"Guess not..." I said, still calm.
Just then, CharmyPurple, my purple Zafara came in the kitchen.
"G'morning, Charmy," I said, throwing her a can of Neocola.
"Good morning, Mummy," Charmy said, opening the can. Living Sun, her yellow
Babaa jumped on the two motionless Lupes.
"Charmy, could you please go see if Plushie finished cleaning the basement?
And get some water, those two fainted. And would you please stop Sunny from
jumping over them?" I said, pointing to the Babaa.
I hoped everything would go well. The new puppies would be coming any day...
if you really would like to find out more, wait until the next story.
