NeoHome Architect Tutorial by torrana | |
Hello to all. I'm writing this article to hopefully serve as a guide to building
your NeoHome. After a few months of randomly looking at many people's NeoHomes,
I have only seen maybe one or two that were built properly. It kind of got annoying,
seeing NeoHomes built with doors in the wrong places, rooms in odd spots and
in too many different materials. Reading this article will teach you how to
make a nice NeoHome that you will be proud of forever.
Before you do anything, you must PLAN. When people write, they write rough
drafts before the final. When people draw, they draw placement lines before
sketching in the details and making the final. The same rule applies to your
NeoHome. It is no exception. So get out 3 sheets of graphing paper, or just
any ordinary paper will do, as long as you have a ruler handy to draw straight
lines. Get out a pencil, and follow these steps below for your layout of your
NeoHome.
1) How many floors will your NeoHome be? Depending on this, you'll figure out
how much paper you will need and how to even begin building your home. You work
from the bottom to top, since you can't build rooms in midair, just like you
can't stand in midair
2) Draw a square box which should cover as much of the paper as it can. Draw
four lines horizontally and vertically, so that you have a 5x5 squared box.
Do the same on different sheets of paper for the other floors, if any.
3) This is the hard part--deciding what goes where. Don't put a room way
on the other side of your home that you have to pass through a garage or some
other obscenity to get to. Make sure the layout makes sense. If you're really
lost or just not a good architect, just make a map of your house and try to
adjust it so that it will work out with your NeoHome. Just for your help, I've
decided to throw in some rooms you'll definitely need in your home. You will
need a: kitchen, bathroom, dining room, living room, garage, entrance, and four
bedrooms, even if you don't have four NeoPets. It is always good to have extra
room in your home for extra pets that may move in, in the future. Don't forget
to build a room for yourself as well, unless you plan on sleeping in the garage!
4) Once you have chosen the appropriate places of where each room should go,
erase the middle of each line of the wall of a room to show that there is a
door there. This will really come in handy when deciding where to put those
doors at! Just make sure you don't have any rooms with doors facing a room with
a wall that doesn't have a door, or else your entrance will be blocked. Be careful
with those things. Don't forget to NAME your rooms. I'm sure guests don't want
to be guessing where they're going ^_^
5) Now that you have your layout of where everything will go, it is time to
decide on what material your NeoHome will be made out of. Keep in mind that
the total cost of extensions at their highest level will eventually add up to
about 3,410 NP per room, so you will need to choose carefully on which material
you use when building your NeoHome, unless you wanna be in debt. The basic idea
here is to not go over the limit--don't use a different material for every
single room. This will make your house look.. Confused? And your home tells
a lot about you. I'd stick with one main material, a secondary material for
a couple other rooms, and maybe for one special room a third. But no more.
Having completed the blue prints of your future home, it is time to start building.
If you haven't already, go ahead and purchase a plot of land. Once everything
is set up there, begin building rooms. They on average will take around 5 hours
a piece to build. I recommend having around 50-150,000 NP to build with, depending
on how big and what material you will use for your NeoHome. And that isn't even
including the price of furniture. I wish you all luck on being your own architect
in building your NeoHome. Feel free to look at my NeoHome
if you need any examples. Have fun! |
