Being Vegetarian in Neopia by amaratantatyri | |
Neopia is a great place for vegetarians to live. At the food shop, you can
find not only fresh fruit and vegetables, but veggie burgers, tofu meat balls,
and vegan sushi. The health food shop in the Bazaar sells all sorts of organic
produce at reasonable prices. Veggie pizzas are abundant at Pizzaroo (I like
the Asparagus and Yoghurt Pizza the best!), and even Hubert, a rather carnivorous
Mynci, can be persuaded to make you a lentil
dog if you ask nicely. After a big meal, there's no better place in
the world than Neopia to relax with some candy, coffee, or tea!
All of my pets are vegetarian, including my Lupe. I will admit that he is a
bit fussier than the others--he won't touch fruit, and prefers vegetables
and omelettes--but he has never asked for meat. My pets all recognise that
being vegetarian is healthy and satisfying. Some of them go a little further
than others in their quest for health and fitness: my Grundo in particular spends
a lot of time at the Gym, accumulating lifetime membership cards. (She's still
pretty small, though, and hasn't gotten the big muscles that the head trainer
has.) Other pets are lazier, preferring to eat chocolate and play games all
day. That's OK. Neopian cuisine is varied enough that they will all eventually
get the vitamins and minerals they need. And even if they are being REALLY careless
with their dietary habits, you can always give them a vitamin supplement from
the health food shop.
If I come across a meat-related item, as a random event or from the Giant Omelette,
I always donate it to the Money Tree. I realisee that there are Neopians out
there who are too poor to choose exactly the food they want to eat, so I try
to help out. But if you have a some NP to spare and a bit of extra time to shop,
I recommend that you try a vegetarian diet for a while. Your pets will be healthier,
and they may even enjoy that veggie dog more than they would have enjoyed a
Meaty Lupe Treat. |
