I was sleeping peacefully on my bed, twisting and turning
in time to Ruby's soft feet padding around on the floor. Ruby, my red Anubis,
started whining and scratching at the door. She stepped to the side, and the door
burst open. There sat a speckled grass Aisha, one of a kind.
"Jade," she shook me awake. She noticed that
she wasn't getting a reaction from me, so she shook harder and started screaming.
"JADE!"
"Unk…" I groaned, rolling out of bed. I looked
up to see the panicked Aisha. "Oh, hi Dot. What's up?"
"Jade," Dot calmly said, "Where's Mira?"
"In Tyrannia. She lives there. You should know
that," I told the speckled Aisha.
"Well," she said, "I won't tell you what's wrong
until she gets here! So get her!"
You see, J.C. had given us two cell-phones,
one for each of us. I called up Mira, and reluctantly, she agreed to come. Finally,
I saw her out of the window. I opened the window, and she flew in. "What is
it?" she demanded.
"Okay," Dot began calmly, but then broke into
a hysterical fit, "THE PANT DEVIL STOLE MY GREEN SHORT HAIRBRUSH! YOU HAVE TO
GET IT BACK!"
Mira and I blinked at each other. "So, you woke
us up, in the middle of a night, because of a GREEN SHORT HAIRBRUSH? You turkey
brain! You could go get another one for only 50 NP! Is that so hard?" I asked.
"But," she started, "It's my special brush."
Mira sighed. "Okay, okay, we'll get it…"
"Thank you so much! Bye!" Dot turned and left.
"Let me know when you get it back, and get it back!"
I turned and looked at Mira. "Back to bed?"
She nodded in agreement. "Back to bed."
The next morning, we went to the Battledome.
We found the Pant Devil wandering around the Battledome. Mira looked at me,
and said, "I've got a plan. Let's do it this time."
"Ya, what is it?" I asked, not intending to
follow it at all.
"Okay, I'll go around and tap him on the shoulder,
and start talking to him. Then you grab him with your ear stalks. Got it?" she
told me.
"Fine… whatever."
Mira grinned at my 'approval' genius plan, and
rushed off to the Pant Devil. She casually tapped his shoulder. "Pant Devil,"
she asked, "I was wondering, how can you steal items so perfectly?"
"Ah, well…" the Pant Devil beamed, and rambled
on and on about his 'greatness.'
I smiled to myself. Her plan actually worked,
well, at least so far. I took a deep breath, and stretched out my ear stalks.
Well, it worked. They wrapped around the Pant Devil, and he came straight back
at me. I jumped out of the way, and he stopped flying back.
With my ear stalks still around him, the Pant
Devil tried to get away, but ended up choking himself, so he stopped. Mira ran
up to me. "We're in the actual arena! That means this counts as a real fight!"
"What?!" I asked. "But… it's a one-against-one
thing…" my voice trailed off.
"I know," she grimly told me. "I can't fight.
You have to beat him. By yourself."
I gulped. By then, the Pant Devil had freed
himself. "Haha!" He shouted, and pulled out a desert dagger. He threw it at
me, and nicked my paw. I cried out in pain.
"Ow!" I said, after the eighth time he hurt
me. I finally snapped out of it and whacked him straight in the face with one
of my jade-ears. That was his turn to cry out in pain.
So, I kept on whacking him, but it wasn't even
doing nay damage with his hp! When he dragged me down to only have 1 hit point
left, I go so mad. When he threw the dagger at me, I grabbed it with a silver-flamed
paw and snapped it in half. Grinning maliciously, I leapt and kicked him. He
slammed down against the floor.
There was my big chance. I grabbed him, and threw
him across the arena. He slammed right into the wall, and his hp went down to
15. Finally, I thought. I leaped and jumped on him. He grabbed me and threw
me, but I bent down my ear stalks on the floor and caught myself just in time.
Finally, I delivered the final blow. I grabbed
the Pant Devil by the arm, and spun around. He got so dizzy and confused that
he hit himself until he had 1 hit point left. I dropped him, took out a mallet
and whacked him really hard. He groaned and fainted. I had won.
When the Pant Devil recovered, he was pretty
angry. "Okay, what do you want back?" he snapped.
"Dot's green short hair brush," replied Mira.
He grumbled and gave it to her.
"Turkey head!" I called after him. He grumbled
and ran away from me as fast as he could.
Just then, Dot walked up to us. "Thanks!" the
speckled grass Aisha thanked us. She took it, and ran off. Mira and I looked
at each other and blinked.
"Turkey head," I rolled my eyes. Mira just laughed.
The End
