KeirothMohaki is a strange pet, who isn't exactly a pet
anymore. He's more of two pets. Mohaki is his evil side, and Keiroth is his
good side. It's most simply put that way. They use the Lab Ray, and are currently
aiming to become Krawks. Magic lets them keep their own true forms. Mohaki takes
the appearance of a black, dragonish creature with large wings, and Keiroth
looks like a little blue Krawk with Eyrie wings.
On this particular day, Keiroth was asleep near
the moat of Elgnad Castle, while Mohaki was inside, setting booby traps for
unsuspecting guild members. He only ducked into the shadows as Kim came down
the stairs with one of her pets, Kolence. Snarling quietly at the Kougra, Mohaki
slipped past them to the kitchen.
Shuribo, the Head Chef, was busy making a lovely
batch of brownies. He didn't notice Mohaki slip into the storage room and take
four entire bags of flour with him.
Careful not to let Kim or any other guild members
see him (but especially Kim, as she ran the guild), Mohaki placed the flour
bags above various doors throughout the castle, and binding them there with
magic. He also made sure that if someone opened the door, they'd be covered
in flour before they could yell mercy.
Feeling quite satisfied, Mohaki went upstairs
to explore the towers. Just as he was about to go up the stairs, he heard a
flutter of wings behind him. He spun around, eyes darting. But there was no
one. Shrugging, he continued up the stairs, when...
"Screeeeeeeeeeee!"
Mohaki had just run into a Korbat, who was now
hanging on to his nose by one claw, looking quite angry with him. "You twit!
Be more careful!" she hissed, giving his nose a kick.
Startled, he pulled away, rubbing his nose. "You
should cut your claws sometime," he muttered.
When he focused on her more, Mohaki saw that
it was Arytil, his second-cousin, who stood before him.
"Ary! What in blazes are you doing here?" he
asked, squinting down at her.
Arytil folded her wings. "The only reason I ventured
to this hideous place was to get you," she spat. "Fro and I need your help."
Mohaki sighed. "Not Syn again, is it?"
Arytil nodded. "We need you to help us find her.
She's stolen something of ours."
"And what might that be?"
"You ask too many questions!" she hissed. "Will
you help us or not?"
Mohaki went into a thinking pose. "I don't know,
I'm pretty busy..."
That was the last straw. Arytil bit Mohaki hard
on the hand, and listened with satisfaction as he howled in pain.
"Get off o' me, you little vermin!" he yelled
as he tried to pry the mutant off of him.
"You'ff goffa helf!" she said, still latched
on to Mohaki's hand.
"All right! I'll help!"
Arytil grinned and released. Mohaki drew back
instantly, rubbing his wounded hand.
"Meet me in the forest tonight, by the old Shadow
Tree. We'll be waiting." With a glinting smile, Ary disappeared in a puff of
smoke.
"Stupid relatives," muttered Mohaki, leaving
the castle. On his way out, he spied Keiroth sleeping and promptly shoved him
into the mote. Splashing around in the water, Keiroth suddenly realised how
fun it was to go swimming. Now he was having fun, which made Mohaki even angrier.
That night, back at Mohaki's NeoHome, he was
having fun turning Snicker's hot dog into a block of ice. Snicker, his 'owner,'
glared at him from across the table.
"Change it back, Mohaki, NOW," she said sternly.
Mohaki smiled, and the ice was once again a hot
dog. Snicker gave him a sceptical look, and bit into it. Two seconds later,
she spit it out.
"MOHAKI!" she screamed, revealing a rather cold
hot dog with a frozen interior.
Jaziron, a split Kyrii, burst out laughing. Shining_Safyre
tried to keep quiet, but it was no use. She and Jaziron had to lean on each
other to keep from falling over.
LyvessAngel started to cough loudly. It was pretty
obvious that this was a cover-up for the laugh.
"This is NOT funny!" Snicker shouted, shaking
her fist. "Mohaki, you and Kei-"
Keiroth was no where to be seen, and this is
the moment where it was finally noticed. Snicker was turning bright red, glaring
at Mohaki.
"Where's Keiroth?!" she asked him.
"I dunno," Mohaki replied simply.
"Well you'd better find him!"
"All right, all right, I'll go look for him,"
Mohaki said, slipping out the door. Perfect excuse to go to the forest to meet
Arytil. Great plan.
Keiroth was conveniently tied up in the forest,
scared to death. So that's where Mohaki would go. He was a genius.
Mohaki took a flying leap, and soared through
the air towards the forest.
To be continued...
