What's in a name? Thou which we call a rose by any other name, would still
smell just as sweet... I think that's how it went anyway. Well, I'm here to
talk to you about names, believe it or not. Basically what to name your pet
when you create one; whether or not to adopt based on names; and some neat suggestions
for names.
What's in a name? Well, you tell me. Is your NeoPet happy with their
name? Are you happy with your name? Is your NeoPet's name appropriate for your
NeoPet? These are the things you need to consider when it comes to getting a
new NeoPet and naming it. Now, onto a list of names you would want and names
you won't be happy with.
First, you might want to consider your NeoPet's species. Do you really want
to name you pet kougra28264221, or acara_11_122? Well, think. Are you going
to use the lab ray on this pet (which might cause the pet to change species)?
You wouldn't want to have a Grarrl named _shoyru_991_, would you? That is one
of the reasons not to name your pet based on species.
Be ORIGINAL. Think of something exotic, like Crystalius, or Toyuka. If a name
you like is taken, alter the vowels, scramble the words, just don't give up!
You will probably come up with something better than before! Like, Matmetchi
could easily become Memtechi. Even a simple name like Jacob could be turned
into Jociba, or Jobica. See what I mean? Not only do these names sound neat,
they are original and were fun to create.
Okay, now you've thought of a really BRILLIANT name, but its already taken
and that's the only name you really like. Don't fret! Add _s at the end and
beginning for a neat effect. You can turn Ichobiya into _Ichobiya_ and It would
still look okay. Another way would be to add them in between all the letters,
like Oymayra would be O_Y_M_A_Y_R_A, but personally, I don't think it looks
very dignified.
Don't like using _? Another thing that people do is add things like xX(name
here)Xx or oO(name here)Oo. They do look kind of cool, just stay away from using
them with names that begin or end with the letter you're using, and make sure
the letters look the same.
You can take two separate names and put them into one. I can't think of a good
example of this, but it can look great if you pick the right names.
STAY AWAY FROM NUMBERS. They make the name look messy and unoriginal. Use the
tips I just taught you instead of using numbers.
Why not use a theme? That's what I've done. I simply add rune to the end of
my pets' names and voila: GoldenRune, SweetnessRune, ChiaRune, and SugarRune.
Very simple concept.
So your pet is already named and you can't help it? Well, don't abandon it
for it's name! That would be shallow and cruel. Accept your pet for who they
are, not their name.
Other Names
PetPet Names
Now, of course, your PetPet can be called anything at all. Don't ask me why.
That leaves you room for even more creativity. Also, you can change their names
as easy as 1,2,3 if you don't like it. Again, you should create something you
like, and that is appropriate for your pet's pet. For example, GoldenRune's
Turdle is named Shelly. And ChiaRune has a Puppyblew named Pooky.
Neodeck Names
This may sound kind of silly, but you do need to name your Neodeck, after all.
Name based on the kind of cards you collect. You could have the Chia Forever
neodeck, based on Chias. Mine is called the Runemaster's Deck, in case you're
wondering. It goes along with my theme.
Shop Name
Okay, this is simple: Name your shop based on what you sell. If you sell quest
items, call it the NeoQuest Shop or something. Mine is kind of crazy, but I
like it; The Super Duper Mega Happy Fun Shop. Heheheh.
Well, I'm pretty sure I've gone over every possible thing you can name in Neopets
here. I hope you enjoyed my article. If you need a suggestion for a name, feel
free to Neomail me, silverrune. Just remember: "...Thou which we call a rose
by any other name, would still smell as sweet.."
Have fun naming things. |
