Evil Gnomes From Beyond Neopia

by darkmaggot69

I looked over at my owner, who was reading a book in the living room of out dimly lit NeoHome. I frowned, slighting wondering if I should tell her. Her eyes lifted from her book as she felt me look at her, she smiled warmly at me as I looked away to the clock. It was 1:34 am. I yawned slightly, but I was used to being up so late. We all slept during the day, well most of the time we slept during the day so we could stay up all night with our owner.

Everything seemed peaceful tonight. There were no loud noises out side in the garden, for once, no sound of things being smashed no flickering of lights and there was no movement anyway where outside our NeoHome. Everything was peaceful. I lifted my head and looks around the room.

My two Kau brothers, Luka22 and KauSin2000 (or Sin as we called him) were putting together a puzzle and my sister Dark_Star_Sugar (or Dark_Star), a baby Skeith, was cuddling in our owner Cinara's lap. I smiled knowing all of them were safe tonight. That nothing had happen and that things were going well. I lifted my large, striped, Eyrie body up and walked over to the window facing our garden. I peered out into that darkness and caught a bit of movement. I sighed heavily knowing exactly what it was, but knowing of no way to prove it or make my owner believe it, but I figured I had to try I wasn't going to let Neopia be run over by evil forces. I walked over to Cinara and sat in front of her.

     "Mom?"

She looked up from her book again and smiled at me. Dark_Star opened one eye to look at me.

     "Yes Ryle?"

"I think something's going on with the things in our garden..."

     "What do you mean?"

She raised an eyebrow at me slightly confused as I took a deep breath ready to explain the thoughts that I shared with my brothers.

"I think the garden gnomes are alive, and I think their Evil. I think its them that are destroying our garden."

Cinara chuckled and set her book down on Dark_star's back. My Brothers looked over and nodded to me.

"Ryle where would you get such an idea?"

"Well...none of this was going on when we didn't have the blue Kacheek gnomes and well I just think its them. In the morning they're always in different positions and none of us move them and I mean what Neopian would be out so late at night to mess up gardens?"

     Cinara sighed with a frown.

"Lots of people would. Not all of the people in Neopia are good."

"But mom! I know its them! They're moving around out there!"

My owner sighed and decided to humour me. She sat Dark_star down and walked over to the window and she indeed saw allot of movement outside and many small figures.

"Okay so something's moving out there. It's probably just your petpets."

"We only have four petpets mom and there are six figures out there. Six figures for six blue Kacheek gnomes."

"Maybe they're space aliens!" Sin chimed in.

"Yea! Space aliens bent on world domination! That might be it!" Luka, the oldest of us all added.

"Space aliens?" Cinara laughed. "Space aliens don't exist you two."

I looked at my owner in disbelief. Space aliens didn't exist yet werewolves and vampires did? My owner herself was a vampire! I couldn't believe she was telling us aliens didn't exist!

"What about the alien Aishas? And the Grundos? Their aliens!" Dark_star waddled over to us with Sin and Luka.

My owner looked down at her.

"Dark_star, Grundos are Neopets from the space station not aliens and yeah...I suppose the alien Aishas are aliens but this is different."

Cinara walked back over to her chair and began to read again. I went to my room to think it over. All this destruction that had been going on started the very night my owner brought home the six Kacheek gnomes from the haunted woods. Everything had started then.

***

The next day my siblings and I were in my room listening to sticks and stones. I lay on my bed watching Luka look out my window at the gnomes. I could tell he was thinking about it too. Sin and Dark_star where sitting on the floor talking to each other. Luka looked over at me.

"Turn it will ya? Full volume!"

"Full volume? You're nuts! We'll wake up mom!"

Luka looked at me with an "Oh please" look.

"Nothing wakes up mom during the day; she could sleep through an earthquake."

I nodded and turned the stereo up to full volume. He was right after all mom wouldn't wake up for anything during the day. Dark_star began to laugh and jumped up on to my bed. The windows of our NeoHome were vibrating. In fact the whole NeoHome was trembling with vibration from the music. We all started to laugh as the house shook. Luka's head picks up from my windowsill and he focused on something.

     "EVERYONE COME HERE!"

We all rushed to the window to see what was going on. The gnomes were waddling around holding their ears trying to get away from the sound and the vibration. I pushed my siblings out of the way, opened the window, jumped though it and pounced on the nearest Kacheek gnome. It hissed and struggled under my massive paws but I held it tightly. My siblings climbed out my window and ran over to me.

"I GOT ONE I GOT ONE!"

Luke grinned at me and ran off to get a cage as Sin and Dark_star ran off after the fleeing gnomes. Luke returned in to time flat with a suitcase. He helped me put it in the suitcase and zip is shut. The gnome struggled within the small case.

"We gotta find the others!" Luka said as he ran off.

I took the bag inside and threw it under my bed. I made sure that many piles of large books had been thrown on top of it to prevent escape. I ran out the door, opened my wings and took to the sky. I had to find my siblings and we had to get the gnomes back. I spotted my siblings and landed in front of them. About 30 minutes had passed since the gnomes had fled.

     "Have you found any?"

"One, Luka caught it." Sin held up a lifeless bag. I poked at it and indeed felt a gnome with in.

"So two down four more to go. Let's find the others."

Luka, Sin, Dark_star and myself spilt up to search Neopia for the renegade gnomes. Luka headed for the market place, Dark_Star headed for Neopia central, Sin headed for a residential area and I headed for the forest.

Once I was deep into the forest my pointed ears perked up. I head a strange jabbering. I crept up behind a bush and peered through it. I had to blink a few times before I was able to grasp what I saw. Four, orange, one foot tall, aliens that sat upon ten tentacles for feet were jabbering away in some language I couldn't understand. I guessed that they were calling for backup. They looked so slimy, like they were covered with mucus. They had four big, hexagonal shaped purple eyes and a small hole for a mouth. As I watched them talk to each other I caught sight of their small jagged teeth. I crouched low to the ground as one of them turned. I guess he saw my tail because they were on me in an instant.

Orange tentacles wrapped around me and held me down, I let out a loud screech but it did nothing. I fought against them and used all the abilities I knew, but nothing worked. I was bound by their tentacles and at their mercy. Being at Level 21, having 50 hit points, a verity of weapons and abilities had done nothing for me against these things. So I sat there and waiting for them to do with me what they wanted. I waited there for awhile and I was so tired I drifted off to sleep.

When I awoke I was in a cage on a space ship. I looked around quite scared and unable to really move. I was covered in orange slim from the monsters. One slithered up to my cage and wrapped its tentacles around the bars and let out and angry roar. I shrank back from the cage and watched it. Thoughts began to push their way into my mind.

"Where are the other two?!" It hissed at me.

     "I don't know," I lied.

"YOU LIE! You took one of us with you and the other got a second! We saw you!"

I turned away from the creature and veiled my mind like Cinara had taught me to do. The creature was unable to gain information from my mind. I curled up into the cage and watched the creatures jabber on to themselves. I knew the sun was going down back on Earth, Cinara would find someway to help.

***

It had been hours since I had saw the creatures last. I figured they were all asleep. I looked at the bars. I knew I had to break out. I began to dig through my equipped items. I took out my fire whip and heated the metals bars until they glowed a molten red. I put the whip away, got out my red frost cannon a sent a few frost blasts at the bar successfully freezing them. Due to the drastic change in temperature the bars cracked. I leaned back and kicked at the bars a few times before they shattered. I Jumped out of the cage and on to the floor.

The noise had woken the creatures and the came pouring into the room. I created an air shield around me and tore into them using my spark; magic pebbles, and drain life abilities as well as my weapons. I slaughtered the lot of them. I panted with exhaustion and looked around the station making sure there was none left. Orange and red goop was all over the walls. When I was sure I had killed them all I went to the front of the ship and entered the cockpit. I found the co-ordinates for their home planet and their long-range weapons system and set a few large rockets toward their planted hoping that would take care of them.

I walked through the spaceship until I came across escape pods. I ran back into the cockpit and looked at the control panels.

"Gotta destroy it..." I muttered letting lose a barrage of magic pebbles.

The pebbles hit the control panel again and again. Sparks began to fly and the ship started going down. I ran back to the escape pods, jumped in and headed back for earth. I quickly found out controlling these things were easier said then done. I crashed toward Neopia at an unstoppable speed. I tried with all my might to get the craft under my control but nothing worked. I crashed into my neighbour's NeoHome

My owner and my sibling came running out and looked at the ship with horror. I kicked open then pod door and slid out of the crash and looked at my astonished family.

     "RYLE!"

Cinara ran over to me and threw her arms around my neck. I smiled and looked at her.

"What happen to the other gnomes?"

"We lit them on fire," Dark_star spoke up before anyone else could.

Cinara nodded as I looked up at her.

"So there's no such things as space aliens mom?" I smirked.

My family laughed and we were glade the next-door neighbours were gone. I wondered how I'd explain this to them.

"No such things as space aliens." I shook my head with a laugh and went inside with my family.
