GROOMING PARLOUR - I've written this article in hopes I can help people reach inside and find
their inner creativity--and help their pets to become stars. Of course, the
word 'star' not being stated in exactly a literal sense. Fame isn't everything
of course, and this article is here mainly to help 'bring out the best' in your
Neopet, and let them become a unique individual of Neopian society--something
that makes them stand out from the rest!
As said time and time again, Neopia is a place full of opportunity. Your pet
can be anything it wants to be. It's simply their job to find their hidden talent.
No pet is like another, which is a great thing about Neopia.
So, how do I make my pet a unique and enjoyable character that sets him apart
from the rest?
1. Don't follow the crowd.
We've seen alien Aishas, we've seen snobbish Wockys, and we've seen strong
Lupe battlers. Though all of those things are unique, don't let your pet think
those are their only options. Again, reach inside and see what they truly enjoy.
Maybe your Lupe isn't a battler; perhaps he's an artist at heart. While all
the other Lupes are out defending Neopia, yours can be sitting at an easel on
the beach of Mystery Island, painting a lovely sunset. Sure, you've most likely
never heard of that before, but that's just the point. This sets your Lupe apart
and with this uniqueness will probably turn a head or two.
"Hey, have you ever heard of so-and-so? He's a Lupe artist!"
And while some may make the mistake of imitation and follow suit of being
Lupe artists, you'll be content to know that your Lupe was the original, and
he is doing what he truly likes to do.
2. Look at his personality.
Is your Chia introverted? Your Acara loud and outgoing? Your pet's personality
can be a major contributing factor to what their hidden talents are.
3. Think of an idea.
Ideas are endless. What's so special about your pet? Though it's not my job
to just give ideas away, here are some examples to start you off--
Your pet could be a freedom-loving pet, preferring to romp in the backwoods
of Neopia instead of staying at home playing NeoQuest.
Your pet could start a movement that specifically supports or opposes something,
handing out badges and holding up signs.
Your pet could be an artist, and be the first pet to ever submit their own
picture into the Art Gallery. Who knows?
Your pet could be a writer, and enter themselves into The Neopian Times. (Be
sure to include your username though!)
Your pet you could be an inventor inventing all kinds of wacky contraptions.
Your pet could be an adventurer, exploring new terrain. You never know what
they'll find.
I could go on and on. Don't be afraid to explore your imagination. Remember
that once your pet finds his niche he'll know it. Never doubt!
4. Find a way to promote.
Once your pet has brought out his best, don't let him sit like a bump on a
log. Let the world know! But how...
- Write stories about your pet and what he's doing. For example, I'm currently
working on a short story series about my quirky little Aisha who likes to pretend
to be a big shot investigator. If the idea fits, you could possibly submit ongoing
short stories about your pet's adventures.
- Draw pictures. Not much explaining needed here. Make pictures of your pet
doing what he does best whether it be exploring or hugging trees.
- Make a web site. Work on your pet's web site so it has a whole theme dedicated
to your pet. If your pet is a professional photographer, make the site a black-and-white
photo gallery full of photographs of other pets your pet has done. If you work
hard and your idea is original, you could try winning Site Spotlight.
- Enter Pet Spotlight. Pet Spotlight is pretty open to what you put in the
submission. If your pet is a great poet, send in a poem of his. If your pet
is a big Gormball champion, send in a story about his greatest win. Again, the
possibilities are endless!
See what I mean? No pet is 'ordinary'. Your red Grarrl isn't just a plain
red Grarrl that eats and sleeps and plays with toys. Expand your creativity
and let your imagination soar; you'll never know where it might take you! |
