Things With Wings

by ipsersisters

Once upon a time, when I was very young, I longed to be a Faerie Kacheek. I begged to be painted faerie but my owners said "NO" or "Maybe when you start saving your allowance." They have a point there, I would think, but whenever I got my allowance I would feel a strong urge to go to the Grooming Parlour and when I did there would be some tempting mouthwash or a new better toothbrush. I wanted them all. When I wasn't in the Grooming Parlour you would find me in my room lying on my Beauty Bed looking at a poster of Carioca the Faerie Kacheek or at my book Painted Pets. I seriously wanted a faerie paintbrush for my birthday. I could not understand what was so bad about it. It was the perfect thing!

On my birthday my owners told me to get dressed for some fun stuff, but little did I know what would happen next. I dressed myself in a short gown so I could look pretty and run at the same time. I wanted to look nice. When I met my owners at the door they took me to the Marketplace and told me a couple of things.

"Have fun!"

"Shop wisely."

"Don't get lost."

"Our address is 164103 Chia Close, Neopia Central."

"Pay attention to the streets!"

"Don't stay out late!"

"Don't..."

They gave me the book Maps Of Neopia and 5000 NP. I read the book and put it in my purse. I didn't want to lose that book. I went over to the shop wizard to ask for the lowest price for a Faerie Paintbrush and he told me:

"The lowest price is 99,999."

I had found the flaw of the Faerie Paint Brush. I felt like crying but that would be unladylike so I curtsied and thanked the Shop Wizard. I then went over to an abandoned area of the marketplace and sobbed quietly. When I was done I dried my eyes and straightened out my dress. I wouldn't let this ruin my day. I looked in the galleries for something nice. I decided to save the money and went to find my way back to my NeoHome. All of a sudden a strong gust of wind swept my book out of my paws. Like any typical pet would, I chased after it. I ran and ran until I was certain it would be gone. I wandered around this strange new land before falling asleep in the grass. I did not sleep long though, because a loud noise woke me up. When I woke up I found myself staring straight into a large pair of Shoyru eyes. I looked at my surroundings. I was in my room!

Then I turned to thank the Shoyru but he had vanished out the open window, probably never to return. Then I ran downstairs to my owners.

"How did you get up there without me seeing you?" said Samantha.

"A Shoyru came and flew me in through the window," I replied.

"That kind of thing always happens to you, doesn't it," said Antonia.

I was about to answer when Melott and Lylyanne came bursting through the door singing a song.

"Happy birthday to you!"

"Happy birthday to you!"

"Happy birthday, dear KatrinaIpser!"

"Happy birthday to you!"

Then Lylyanne brought out all the presents. I laughed when I realised that they were hidden in the hall closet. I had been searching everywhere but there for my presents!

"Open mine first!"

"No, open mine."

Fortunately for me, no fight followed. I just picked one out and looked at the tag. It read:

You are my favourite NeoPet
You always will be
It seems you were first hatched
To be perfect just for me

Love,
Samantha

That note made me feel HAPPY! My present was a Neophone for my room! My other presents were great too!A Green Sofa, a Green seat, and a Robo Kiko.

Time flew by and it was time for bed. I was very tired and so I slept soundly not hearing the door to my room creak open or the wing-beats of a young NeoPet...

"Where am I?" I asked for the 30,000,000th time.

"You are not allowed to know," said a blue Shoyru told me (the same one that rescued me) yet again.

Suddenly I was picked up and I felt myself being carried upwards. I couldn't see because somebody had put a blindfold over my eyes. All of a sudden something smooth and pleasurable was stroking my back and then I felt two things burst out of my back...

Here I was, at my NeoHome, flying through the sky. If you were the one who painted me faerie, then I thank you.
