The Evil Eyes Aisha followed her down the mountain. Shaina
landed, her body aching all over. She used her device, and she immediately her
fur turned black, allowing her to become Aisha Dark Shadow, just in case anybody
was passing by and saw her.
“Sir Chancellor,” she muttered, as she held
a machine much like a cell phone (or a mobile), but could view pictures, in
her paw. “Who is he?”
Sir Chancellor’s face looked serious, but rather
worried and frightened. “What matters is, are you alright, Aisha Dark Shadow?”
“A okay,” assured Shaina, glancing at her injured
arm and felt the trembling of her stiff and aching body. “I just need a little
help. But first, I want to know who this ‘Evil Eyes Aisha’ is and why he’s attacking
me.”
“Evil Eyes Aisha works for a company that fights
against us. I’m sorry we haven’t told you about this before, but our corporation
does have some enemies and foes. We’ll be sending help as quickly as possible.
Hang in there, Aisha Dark Shadow.”
“Yessir,” replied Shaina, attempting to move
her wounded arm off the cold, wet rock beneath her. “If I can stand… over and
out.”
Shaina turned off the machine and sat down. She
looked around, and realized she was near Kiko Lake. Her back ached and hurt
the most, and she noticed that she nearly hit another sharp rock, and that she
landed on the end instead.
Suddenly, a darting pain came to Shaina’s arm,
and she clutched it tightly, but all she had to do was wait for Sir Chancellor’s
aid to arrive.
“Hello, Aisha Dark Shadow,” snarled a voice
from above. “Did you have a nice trip down the mountain?”
Shaina looked up. It was Evil Eyes Aisha!
“What do you want?” spat Shaina, trying to get
up, although her head pounded as she lifted it. “Who are you, and what do you
want?”
“I want your soul,”
“Oh, come on! How cliché is that?” Shaina replied,
trying to laugh. She just had to keep the Evil Eyes Aisha distracted until help
arrived.
“I want you destroyed,” continued the
Aisha, sneering. “Then I will be the one famous for thievery and have all the
items I want. Unlike you, puny Aisha, giving away those items like you were
the Money Tree. A shame on all thieves!”
“I’m not a thief!” yelled Shaina, her voice quavering.
“I only want to stop crime, and do a good deed to all Neopians out there! I
am not evil, like you, fiend!”
The Evil Eye Aisha cackled, his eyes turning
more evil by the second. “I suppose you don’t mind to be destroyed, then, since
everybody is thinking you are a thief. It’ll do them a lot of favour if you
would just vanish, instead of having them think their possessions will suddenly
be stolen from them.”
Shaina winced. She looked at the Aisha, and she
knew he wasn’t lying. Everybody thought she was a horrible thief, ready to strike
any type of Neopian at any time. As she was thinking, she could see the Evil
Eyes Aisha ready to attack her.
“Now…” he said, smirking. “Goodbye, Aisha Dark
Shadow.”
Suddenly, Shaina saw a ray of purple from Evil
Eye Aisha, and the next thing she felt and saw, was complete darkness.

Shaina sat up. She looked around, and noticed
that she was in the Neopian Hospital, her fur rainbow, and in hospital clothes.
She had a cast for her arm, and she could feel the soft bed underneath her.
Before she could get up, a voice spoke.
“You lied to me,”
“Amity,” whispered Shaina, looking at her friend,
sitting on a chair in front of a window. “It’s not what you think, Amity! I—”
“How can I be so sure that it’s the truth?”
replied Amity, her voice fierce and full of sorrow. “We’re best friends, and
we were since childhood! We tell each other everything! And then you just go
out and steal things?”
“Amity!” yelled Shaina. “Let me explain! Please…”
Amity was silent. The quietness in the room made
Shaina uncomfortable, and she could feel a sharp pain stabbing her heart. When
she gathered up enough strength and courage, Shaina explained how she did not
steal items, but rather stole things from thieves and gave the items back to
the victims, and how she only wanted to do good deeds.
Now Shaina knew how it must have felt for heroes
to tell others about their secrets in comics, she had always called them fools
for not doing so, but it was just so hard. She didn’t know if Amity would believe
her, or what she’d say.
Shaina could tell Amity was thinking after she
had finished talking, because the room was silent again.
Then Shaina began talking about the Evil Eyes
Aisha, and about Sir Chancellor, her special equipment and everything else.
After that, she asked, “Did they catch the Evil Eyes Aisha?”
Amity sighed, and smiled weakly. “No, he got
away. I know how hard it is to tell me, but I’ll always believe you, no matter
what. Even if you told me you originated as Dr. Sloth’s apprentice, or if Rainborific
Slushies actually give you magic powers. I’m really glad you told me, and I’m
also glad you’re all right. You’ve been in the hospital for three days now,
and you’ve finally recovered. I’m sure you have enough energy to go out there…”
Shaina looked at her friend, not knowing what
to expect next.
“…and kick some evil bottom!”
