Not All Dark Faeries Are Bad

by twayblade807

Jhudora, the rather famous Dark Faerie, cackled evilly. "Darkness Faerie, let's make another plan to take over Neopia!"

The Uber-Dark Faerie shook her head. "Not anymore. No. We'll be troubling Fyora and the other Neopians."

"What, you gone soft, Darkness Faerie?" snickered Jhudora. "What's the matter with you, now? Don't want to take over Neopia anymore, eh?"

The Darkness Faerie blushed. "Jhudora," she snapped, "we'll probably fail again, anyway. And I'm starting to admire that Ixi, what's-his-name... oh yeah, his name is Ixi!"

"You really have gone soft, Darkness Faerie. Fine, if you don't want to, I'll do it myself!" Jhudora strode quickly out of the Darkness Faerie's purple NeoHome, back to her own cloud.

"As you all know," Fyora, the Queen of the Faeries, began, "all of us Faeries, with the exception of the evil Dark Faeries, have gathered here to discuss some matters about the Hidden Tower. Some customers have complained that my ancient artifacts are overpriced, even though they are powerful. I don't agree with them. Do you?"

There was a murmur of 'No's in the Faerie crowd. But the Uber-Fire Faerie spoke up. "The prices are all right, Queen Fyora," she called. "But you should put more Fire-based items in the Hidden Tower. It's not fair, you have so many Earth items in there!" The other Fire Faeries voiced their agreement loudly.

"Quiet, my Faeries," Fyora commanded. The Faeries were quiet again. "Fire Faerie, I can't just make a new Fire artifact all of a sudden! What about the Light Faerie, then? There aren't ANY Light items in the Hidden Tower, and she's not complaining!

The Fire Faerie screwed her face up. A hush fell over the Faeries. The Fire Faeries, being their fiery selves, were well known for having a hot temper. "Fine!" she shouted, and much like Jhudora did, she marched out of Faerie Castle, with her Fire Faeries behind her.

Fyora acted as though nothing had happened. "Now my Faeries let us discuss the Hidden Tower. Anybody have any suggestions to improve it?"

***

The Uber-Fire Faerie told her Faeries to go back home, which they did. The Fire Faerie was just about to walk to her own NeoHome when Jhudora popped up in front of her, from out of nowhere.

"What do you want?" said the Fire Faerie sulkily.

Jhudora ignored this. "Fyora offended you today, didn't she, Fire Faerie?" she said sweetly.

     "Uh, yes."

"You want revenge, my pretty?" inquired Jhudora.

"I'm not your pretty!" shouted the Fire Faerie. But eventually she gave in. "All right. I admit it. I want revenge."

"Yes, yes." Jhudora bared her teeth in a malicious smile. "I have an offer for you. You will help me take over Neopia, with your power, and I will let you do anything you want to Fyora."

     "All right."

"The first thing you must do is defeat all the Faeries of Neopia. Then they will be forced to give me Faerieland. We will then gradually take over Neopia."

"Are you willing to let me rule Neopia, as well?" asked the Fire Faerie, smiling evilly.

"Yes," lied Jhudora, with no hesitation. "Fire Faerie, we will rule Neopia together!"

***

At the next Uber-Faerie meeting, the Uber-Fire Faerie challenged all the other Uber-Faeries to a fight.

"You will fight me one by one, Faeries, and if I win, Jhudy and I will rule Faerieland. But I won't fight Fyora; she's too powerful," declared the now evil Fire Faerie.

The Fire Faerie was strong, and all the Faeries knew that. But Fyora agreed. "Yes, Fire Faerie, we will set things straight between us. If we win, then you will have to become a 'good guy' again."

     "Yes, Fyora."

***

The fight began. Fyora had self-appointed herself the commentator.

"Fire Faerie, your first opponent is...the Earth Faerie!"

The Earth Faerie flew up into the battle arena. "It's not fair," she whined, "plants and earth are weak against fire."

"Yup," agreed the Fire Faerie, setting the Earth Faerie's wing on fire with a well-aimed Lava Spit. The Earth Faerie screamed and used her Earth ability, Twisting Vines, to attack the Fire Faerie. This, of course, was no use, as the vines were simply burnt down. The Fire Faerie finished the battle with another Lava Spit.

"And the Fire Faerie wins this round! The next round will be hard for you, Fire Faerie, for a change!"

The Water Faerie stepped onto the arena, smiling. "Let the battle begin! I shall win, of course. Water is strong when battling with fire!"

"Oh, really?" said the Fire Faerie scornfully. The Water Faerie shot a Water Jet blast at her, but the Fire Faerie used one of her favourite abilities, Boil, on her. She dodged, and the Water Jet hit a cloud, and bounced onto the Water Faerie, who was seriously hurt.

"Oh NO!" cried Fyora. "The Fire Faerie wins AGAIN! All right, Fire Faerie, you'll be beaten this time, your opponent is the Light Faerie!"

The Light Faerie used Flash against the Fire Faerie. She winced, covering her eyes, but then the Flash disappeared and the Fire Faerie sneered, "Ha, blind your enemies with this flash and escape from combat easily, eh? Well, you're not trying to escape from combat, stupid, you're trying to do combat!"

The Light Faerie was about to reply when a Fire Ball finished her off. The third battle was ended.

Nervously, the Air Faerie flew slowly to the arena. Her soft voice rang out for the Fire Faerie to hear. "I'll win this battle," she said, but her voice was uncertain.

The Air Faerie flew up in the air and used her ability Dive, flying down onto the Fire Faerie suddenly. For a moment, the Fire Faerie froze in surprise, but reacted quickly. She burnt the Air Faerie's hair, and the battle was won.

"Ha, Fyora, you have no more Faeries to fight me now, you've run out of Faeries! I win!"

Fyora looked sad, and opened her mouth, but before she could answer, the Uber-Darkness Faerie appeared on the arena.

Her hair was as sleek and shiny as ever, and her purple dress billowed out behind her in the wind. She spoke. "Queen Fyora has not run out of Faeries for you to fight, Fire Faerie. I am a Faerie too, and I am on Her Majesty's side. Come, let us fight."

The Fire Faerie was shocked, but she launched a Fire Ball at the Dark Faerie, which she nimbly dodged. However, the Dark Faerie's wingtip was slightly scorched.

While the Fire Faerie was busy laughing, the Dark Faerie let out a weird sort of hiss and out from her mouth came the dreaded Demon Breath! The Fire Faerie choked until the Demon Breath subsided. The Fire Faerie launched another Fire Ball, but the Dark Faerie's Temporal Leak slowed the Fire Ball down, making them easy to dodge.

Again and again, the Dark Faerie used Drain Life, until the Fire Faerie was beaten.

Jhudora appeared, raising her hands up. "We surrender, Fyora!"

"Hm, what a shame Ixi didn't get to watch that battle," sighed the Uber-Darkness Faerie.

"He would've learnt something about us Faeries - Not all Dark Faeries are bad," replied Fyora.
