Back once again, your favourite (I hope) review writer, softball_luvr. Due
to the large response from Neopian critics and their feedback to my last article
about the Golden Dubloon, I have decided to write another review. So sit back
in your comfy office chairs, grab a cold drink, and enjoy.
To start off, the topic. As you know if you have read my previous article,
I mainly write about topics little known to most Neopians. So I ventured deep
into the heart of Terror Mountain, through snowstorms and blizzards, and did
an immense amount of research.
If you have ever been with your NeoPet, you well know what types of creatures
dwell in those snowy white hills, such as Bruces, Blumaroos, and even the occasional
racing Poogle. But have you stolen a glimpse of the secretive snow Chias? No
I don't mean Mike and Carassa, the owners of the Igloo Garage Sale. I am speaking
specifically of the rare yellow fuzz-topped Chias who love to dance around gleefully,
as long as no one is watching.
Now you may say, "But I've seen two yellow Chias on the Happy Valley map!
They can't be that rare." But I beg to differ. You see, these maps the Neopian
Team draws up don't necessarily portray the everyday picture you would see if
you happened to go up to Terror Mountain this very minute (which I highly doubt
you will). Those particular Chias on the map waltzing around the Snow Wars castle
are just two average Neopian Chias on winter vacation. How do you know you ask?
Well, I have personally met these two fellows, good little chaps to know I might
add. But when I spoke with them, they talked of how they posed for that very
picture in front of an expert Neopets artist. With that said back to the rare
snow Chias
These tiny cave dwellers live in small packs of five or six Chias There is
no alpha male or female, as is the case with wolves. The Chias simply live together
in harmony, never questioning their roles in the group. There is usually a baby-sitter
for the baby Chias, a hunter who looks in the woods for berries and roots (not
meat, Chias are strictly vegetarians), two lookouts who are constantly scanning
the horizon for Lupes or other predators, and finally one or two Chias who venture
out to make sure civilisation is not moving in on them. If that happens, the
Chias pack up their few belongings and leave to another site. (These Chias are
not very sociable)
Obviously, in the course of history, some Chias in these small tribes have
rebelled and left to live the big city life. But this has only happened once
or twice, as was the case with Mike and Carassa. After leaving, these Chias
were forever shunned by the pack they once called their own, so they must always
stay in their tiny igloo, selling junk items to traveling Neopians.
If you have have ever been fortunate enough to actually meet one of these
Chias, you will know that they are extremely shy. But once you convince them
to come out of their shell (not literally), it's a pleasure to get to know them.
I happened upon one Chia on my adventure by the name of Odessa. Here's a quick
description for you:
Name: Odessa Chia Choku
Colour: Yellowish
Pack Role: Baby-sitter
Faves: Tribal snow dance contests
Strength: 25
Defence: 27
Movement: 160
You may have noticed Odessa's exceptionally high movement. This is not rare
among the snow Chias, but quite the opposite. These Chias, you see, are so fast
simply because they are used to having to dash away from predators which include
humans. Also, the Chias have an annual Chia Snow Race in which the fastest Chias
compete for big prizes.
Another odd thing about these Chias is their names. All of them have "Chia"
as their middle name and their last name is the same as their tribe. So of course
in the different packs, the first names of each Chia must be completely original.
So to make sure no two Chias have the same name, each month there is a Naming
Ceremony. This points out the fact that a Chia could nameless for up to thrity
days!
There are only seven snow Chia packs existing in Neopia. These are the Shabanu,
Hulta, Tanith, Claidi, Nemian, Choku, and the Gretchen tribes. So it is very
unlikely that you will ever see any of these rare and yet beautiful creatures.
This wraps up my article and I hoped you enjoyed. You may search around Neopia
and try to find out the source of all my info but you won't find it. You must
trek all the way up Terror Mountain and patiently wait for a glimpse of these
marvelous creatures. And don't be surprised if they dash off in the other direction
as quickly as possible. |
