Tombola Magic

by nancy_echidna

Himiku the yellow Gelert walked on the sandy shores of Mystery Island, with her bag of saved up Neopoints in her hand. Himiku was a very poor Gelert, and was going to set up a shop on Mystery Island. But, before she could do that, she decided to go get something from the Tombola man to sell in her shop.

Himiku walked up to the Tombola man's booth, and saw that there were no more prizes. "I'm sorry, I just gave away my last prizes to someone...." he told her. "I'm sure, that if you'll donate, the kindness will come back to you someday!" he finished, holding out a bag.

Well, why not? thought Himiku, emptying out the bag of her while life savings into the bag. The Tombola man's eyes sparkled, and he thanked her.

Himiku walked away, then, with her bag that once was full, now empty. Himiku stopped at the construction place, of where they would be building her shop, but then remembered that she didn't have anymore Neopoints. Himiku sighed, and walked to her straw hut. Inside the bare house, Himiku only had a dung sofa, and a stone shelf. Himiku relaxed on the dung sofa, used to the smell, and feel of the dung. She stared up at the ceiling, wondering Why did I do that?! The "kindness" will surely never come back to me! And, after that, she fell asleep.

Himiku woke up with that strange feeling, like life would never be the same. Himiku got up, and set off to the Tombola man's booth. It was now up and running. She stuck her had in the hat, and pulled out #205.

"You're a winner!!" exclaimed the Tombola man. "Here, take this prize...." He handed her a nice, glass lamp. Himiku thanked him, and started to talk away. "Listen... Why don't you take this bag here, too?" He grinned, and held it out.

"T-thanks!" said Himiku, claiming her prize. Himiku walked away, holding the glass lamp, and bag. Once she was at home, she set the glass lamp on the stone shelf, and opened up the bag. She peeked in, and couldn't believe her eyes! Right there, in that small bag, was 10, 000 Neopoints! Himiku hugged the bag, and ran as fast as her little Gelert feet could carry her, to the construction site.

"Well, it's been twenty-four hours and that little Gelert never paid us. Let's go, guys...." said a Scorchio, looking at his watch.

"Waaaaaa-it!" yelled Himiku, running up to them. "Here's 250 Neopoints." She pulled 250 Neopoints out of her bag, and handed them to the Scorchio.

"Uhh... Thanks..." he said, picking up his shovel set next to him.

"Let's get workin'!" Himiku waited on a bench, watching the NeoPets build the shop. Within an hour, they were finished, and Himiku took her first step in the shop. There was already a counter, and some bare shelves. Himiku sighed, not knowing what to sell.

"Hey, you," said a voice.

Himiku turned around, to see a Wocky, and a crowd of NeoPets.

"Here, take this..." said the Wocky, handing her a bottle of sand. "Go sell it," he told her, walking to the back of the crowd.

Just then, the whole crowd starting giving her unwanted items!

After everyone had gave them their gifts, Himiku asked, "But... why? Why did you give me all this??"

The Wocky smiled, and put his paw on her shoulder. "We heard about you donating your whole life savings to the Tombola man, and donated too. Then, we really wanted to help support you," said the Wocky, motioning for the crowd to leave with him.

Himiku looked down at all the items. Plushies, bottles of sand, food, and just plain items. Himiku, grinning, picked up some of the items, and started to restock her shop.

***

Himiku's shop became one of the most well-known shops on Mystery Island, and restocks her shop daily. Why not go travel on a boat to mystery item, check out her shop, and chat with her over a cup of Borovan? :)
