Blue Moon: Part Six by _drake_ | |
Now Drake and Draco had been away from their home for about 4 months. They
still hadn't become pet-like. Draco had held back a long time not to get at
Jekoon, and it was building up inside. He didn't know how much longer he could
take it. Drake had become a Battledome pet, given little or no respect, a bet
winner, something Shadn could rely on to keep him getting money. However he
was good in the fights, though every hit he struck against the foe he felt was
pain for himself, for there was no reason to fight if you didn't have to. But
perhaps the worst life was for Sunray.
The change had affected him greatly. He had become cold and ignorant to the
world, not caring to anyone else, fending solely for himself, alone. When he
couldn't find food, he stole from the town. Though from time to time, he would
find a patch of sand, and try to draw out a plan, though never he could find
one that would get them back in success. So there he spent his days, drawing
with a branch in the sand, trying to form a plan to get his brothers free. It
was the thing that drove him.
"Let's see..." Sunray fiddled with the leafless branch and stared at the
sandy ground, then pulled out a map of Neopian Central he had stolen from a
shop, tracing the basics of it into the sand. He marked a circle around where
the two houses were and the most direct route from the forest to the locations.
Then he began to mark where he had remembered seeing windows on the houses.
He spoke aloud. "Maybe if I try to break the windows with perhaps a stone or
something, they can get out!"
He quickly wrote this down, and tried to figure out where to stand where he
could throw a stone at a window but there wasn't a street light. He soon had
the positions marked.
"Okay. I start...tonight!" He smiled and looked at the sky. Suddenly a breeze
blew across the sands. Sunray frowned and looked at the ground before him. The
plans were cleanly wiped away, as if they had never existed. He growled and
snapped the stick. "This area is too windy! My plans are always blown away!"
He lay down on the sand where his plans had been moments before, and slowly
he fell asleep. Something woke him up. No living thing was nearby, but something
had made him wake up. Perhaps it was awareness; for something was happening.
The clouds that covered the night sky slowly moved aside, revealing the deep
blue moon.
For a moment Sunray was puzzled; thinking of something past. Then it occurred
to him; this was from the dream. The dream that had haunted him from time to
time, and somehow he knew this wasn't a dream. He stood up and looked at the
sand arena, the wind drawing sand into the air to move along the ground like
a sort of fog. It occurred to him now, that if anything, fate had blown the
winds across his plans, that for this plans weren't needed.
Instead he needed action. So with a glance at the moon, Sunray ran through
the forest towards the town, and on a distant memory of the location of the
houses and streets where they were, he soon found himself before a house which
he knew held Drake. He walked towards the door, and pulled on the doorknob until
it finally clicked and the lock failed. Shadn didn't have security on his home.
He didn't need it.
Anthony woke suddenly at hearing a sound. He leapt from his bed and ran down
the stairs swiftly, looking at the door swung wide open. He walked through the
house silently searching for whoever had entered... Sunray walked through the
strange foreign place, searching for his brother. He dared not to say anything
for it might attract someone's attention. He looked through the house silently,
and finally found a large empty room, besides a bed and closet. Sunray walked
in without making a sound, and looked around. Upon looking at the windowsill,
he saw the strange blue light of the moon laying on a figure, and he knew it
was his brother. He ran towards him, suddenly stopped dead as a figure leapt
on him from behind, teeth sinking into his back. He winced himself and heard
a yelp as the fire Lupe bit onto a spike, and Sunray whirled around. Anthony
took out a strange object, like a long branch, silver and thin. He swiped it
through the air as he stood hind legged, and Sunray knew what it could do without
knowing what it was. He backed up slowly, soon his back was against the bed,
and Anthony brought the sword down on him, and only an inch from his head, he
was blown back by the wind, and slammed into the door with a loud thud. The
Shoyru stood in the windowsill, and looked at his lost brother. He smiled.
"You came for me... I knew you would someday!" They heard a voice yelling from
across the hall. "What's all that noise about!?" Sunray looked at the unconscious
Anthony and pushed him aside, and backed up as Shadn opened the door, Sunray
glared at him and leapt; the tackle throwing him down, Drake ran down the hall
and into the main room, glancing back at the stairs, Sunray ran down them too,
Shadn close behind. Sunray stopped beside Drake, looking back at the angry man.
The wind blocked him from coming any further, and he began yelling.
"Don't disobey me! I'm your owner! You can't leave, I'll just get you back!"
Both Sunray and Drake turned and ran, Shadn knew he couldn't go that fast and
stood in the doorway, shaking a fist and yelling. The two ran down the streets,
Drake following Sunray they went towards the house Draco was held in. Reaching
it, Sunray tried to open the door the same way he had at Shadn's house- by pulling
so hard on the lock it broke. But this lock didn't break. Redden had much care
for his pets, and didn't want anyone to get in and steal anything. So he had
bought expensive security, and Sunray couldn't simply open the door. He resorted
to his past idea, and began searching the lawn. Drake tilted his head and watched
Sunray.
"What are you doing?"
"Help me find a rock!" within moments, they had found a stone.
Sunray hurled it at a window. This immediately awoke everyone in the house
as the glass on the window shattered. Draco remained hidden beneath the stairs
as the three pets and owner ran down the stairs, and looked out the window to
see nothing. Then they stumbled back as two figures leapt into the house through
the window.
They yelled and ran upstairs, Redden yelling worriedly, "Where's Draco? Is
he safe? Where?"
Hearing this, the two ran through the house in searching. The wind blew through
the house and Draco, sensing this ran out from his hiding place. They immediately
saw him and the three ran out, back towards their home, not to be pulled from
it again, and live in their rightful home with their rightful owner, the wild.
***
This story was in summary about the lengths some people will go to to get
back what they know to be right, and sometimes fate decides what is to be your
affect on the lives of someone else. And that sometimes people who live different
lives can be very the same. Most things in this were date-accurate, except for
the fact that Drake and Draco were actually taken on the 17th of January, and
they Eyrie thing lasted about the 23rd through the 27th. All names in this story
were made up on the spot, other than the main three, who are actually real.
If I used your name I'm sorry, it is pure coincidental.
