Vortex
"AUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!" Ellyanny screamed. She had been zooming down a tunnel,
for what seemed like forever, but really only a few nanoseconds.
Perhaps, I should explain how this thing works. Now, you probably all know
about BLACK HOLES--you know, in space? Well, for those who don't, it's a HUGE
HUGE HUGE hole that sucks everything around it in just like a turbo vacuum cleaner.
Sometimes it is a collapsed star, etc. Some are as big as the SUN. Now thats
talking big, if you know what I mean! The sun is HUGE. I'm not talking about
obese Grarrls- (Still, obese Grarrls weigh so much it's off the scale.....)We
are talking about something that goes around more than several million miles
in diameter!
This top top secret super duper confidential technology involves Black Holes
in a HUGE way. What it is, is a machine that sends people through a black hole.
The black hole, has the power to take you into the FUTURE. The closest one is
just out of our solar system--The Kau Kau Milky Way. (FREAKY!) The machine will
be sending Ellyanny through a black hole, and she will end up back in Neopia--in
2500 AN (After Neopia). Who knows what will be there?

Ellyanny landed hard. "OW!" she yelled. Her voice was distorted. Her head
hurt. EVERYTHING hurt. She lay down on the hard surface, and slipped out.....
When she woke up, she found herself in the middle of a 'sidewalk'. It was really
a conveyor belt, and now she was only 30 minutes away from where she started.
"Yo! Move it, kid!" the strange thing behind her said. He had a funny voice.
He looked weird.
She looked at her reflection on the shiny conveyor belt....Ellyanny had been
remodeled again and again while travelling in time. The NeoPets staff had changed
the Aisha design hundreds of times.... She barely recognised herself!
She stepped off the belt, and realised there were no Neocars, no trucks hammering
down the road at breakneck speed. No yipping from the Triffins being walked
down the road and no Greebles croaking as they hopped down the sidewalks on
their leashes... the world was eerily silent.....except for a swooshing noise
above her....
"Whoa.....what on Neopia.....?"
The sky was filled with space cars, that operated on rockets. There WERE PetPets, but they were robots, and all the people were floating in the air were
with rocket jet packs and wearing strange masks.
A NeoPet came to her. She couldn't tell what species. She had never seen such
a thing before!
"Why aren't you wearing a Virtu-Mask? Please, come with me, I'll get you one!"
the NeoPet said.
"Huh? What's a 'Virtu-Mask'?"
"WHAT? YOU DON'T KNOW? YOU DON'T? WHAT CENTURY ARE YOU FROM?"
Ellyanny was about to say the 21st century!

Ellyanny wobbled around in the air in her jet pack adn virtu mask. The sky
wasn't just 'the sky' anymore, it was a maze of sky highways, robot buildings,
etc. The world was no longer Neopia....it was Neopia in the 26th Century....
The horrible throbbing in her head ceased. The 'Main Street' was no longer
there. It was really huge stations and people lining up.
She WAS hungry....She lined up. What had happened to The Neopian Bazaar? How
about the Marketplace? Where was Usukiland? (Oh, how the world LIVED on Usukiland!)
Soon it was her turn. She stepped in one of the 20 booths, and she read the
Neopian words on the label.
The NeoPet behind her spoke up. "Yes, I know it's funny that they still have
Neopian on the booths. Honestly, this ISN'T the 20th century or something! We
speak Slothian half the time!
Ellyanny tentatively touched the booth. "Yup, it's real all right!" Ellyanny
wired the booth to her virtu mask, and then, she saw something too amazing for
words.
She heard a strange voice say, "Let's eat!" Ellyanny ate virtual food, and
when she was full up from yummy future food, she stepped out.
"Whoa...computerised food!"
Ellyanny didn't forget the task of finding SuperComet and Julyanni, however.
She did want to see what this future Neopia was like though, just to get a
taste!
Suddenly, a loud ringing rang in her ears. She groaned. It was soooo loud!
The headache from her hard landing returned, and she had to sit down to let
it pass.
To her surprise, all the Neopians got to their knees and bowed to a invisible
thing in the air.
Ellyanny opened her eyes, and jumped when she saw a huge vision of Dr. Sloth
in the sky. Everyone was bowing to him!
"Huh?"
She recalled how the NeoPet behind her had told her everyone spoke the new
language, Slothian half the time. She knew what had happened. She had had a
sense the whole time, but didn't really think about it. This WHOLE place resembled
VirtuPets Space Station, and everyone respected Dr. Sloth. What happened to
Faeries? Faerie Queens?
"Uh oh!"
Dr. Sloth had taken over Neopia during the time that had passed in 500 years!
