Great Ways to Save NP by finalxcution | |
NEOPIAN BANK - Neopoints are essential to NeoPets and are used to get items like
NeoHome furniture, Battledome equipment, books, etc. Usually, the more NP an item
costs the better or rarer it is. So naturally, you want to save up NP to buy those
items. That is why I have a written this guide to help you conserve NP.
Bank/Safety Deposit Box
Your number one priority is to use your bank to keep your NP safe and use
your Safety Deposit Box for your items. Why you ask? Well, there are several
reasons for this. In Neopia, there are ghosts who can steal a few NP from you
and put them on the money tree. There is also the Tax Beast who can take from
you 10 percent of the NP you are holding. However, that rarely ever happens
so you don't have to worry about him too much. Next, the Pant Devil can randomly
appear to steal an item from you that is not in your safety deposit box. There
is also the rare Shadow Usul that can also steal items from you. (There is also
another way to prevent items from being stolen without the Safety Deposit Box.
That is by putting an item in your trades or putting it up for auction.)
Tombola
Sometimes when you go to Tombola to try your luck at it, it says that it has
run out of money to give away anymore stuff. It then asks for you to donate
some NP to get it working again. Don't waste any NP donating since others will
do it. It will eventually get 500,000 NP and you didn't have to spend anything!
However, you can still be nice and donate a few but just don't donate too much.
If you want to save a little NP, I suggest that you don't bother donating.
Hunger
Is your neopet dying of starvation? You're probably think that it's time to
buy some more food to feed it. BIG MISTAKE! The best way to save thousands every
month is to send your pet to the Neolodge! If you get the cheapest hotel type
(Cockroach Towers), don't get any extras for your pet, and choose to let it
stay for 28 nights, it will only cost you about 140 NP! For only 140 NP, your
pet will be kept full for a whole month! However, if you are so poor that you
can't even afford 140 NP, you can go to the Soup Kitchen to get unlimited helpings
of FREE soup to fill up your pet!
Buying Items
Before buying ANYTHING, make sure that what you are about to buy is at a fair
price so you don't get ripped off. To check if it's at a fair price use the
Shop Wizard to see how much other people are selling it for and compare the
prices. If the person/shop you are buying from is selling the item for less
than the people on the Shop Wizard, then you should buy it. What if the thing
I want is very expensive and costs over 100,000 NP? Use the Trading Post to
see what others are trying to trade it for and decide if the person you are
trading with is selling it at a fair price.
Trading
When it comes to trading things, you should first check the wishlist of the
person you are about to trade with, to see what they want in exchange. Again,
use the Shop Wizard or Trading Post to see if that person isn't going to rip
you off. If the wishlist doesn't tell you what that person wants, Neomail them
and ask them. You can also try to haggle with the person and try to bring the
price down but that is optional.
Newly Released Items
Before you go off and try to get one of those new rare items, it is always
wise to wait a while for the prices to go down. For example, when one person
gets a hold of a new item and tries to sell it for 500,000 NP, you think that
there is only a few of them and buy it before there is none left. However, after
several weeks since you bought the item you find that many people have them
and the price has gone from 500,000 NP down to 5,000 NP. Now don't you just
feel stupid? This case is very common around Neopia so don't be surprised if
many people have gone through this problem already.
Holding Out
If you have just won a limited time item like from Better than You, Lenny
Conundrum, or other prize giving contests, you should keep the item in your
safety deposit box. Leave it there for a few months and eventually the value
of it will increase since there are so few of them out there. For instance,
you have won an item from Better than You and there were only 500 released.
You decide to keep it and the value is currently 125,000 NP. After 4-5 months,
you check the price and it has gone up to 600,000! You have just made a 475,000
NP profit for just letting your item sit there! So anytime you get one of those
items, it is a good idea to keep them for a while before selling it.
Well, I hope this guide will help you on your way to becoming rich someday.
Don't worry, it takes time to get Neopoints, so don't expect to get rich in
one day... not everybody does! So just hang in there and don't go spending your
NP everywhere you see, you'll regret it! Good Luck! :p
