About Hippbee:

Almost every single person, pet, and creature in Neopia adores the holidays, and why not? Most peoples favourite day of the long holidays is Christmas Eve, and the next morning, but not for me. Don't take me wrong or whatever, I really do love opening all of the presents and meeting friends and eating so much food that you're sick all night and can't enjoy anything else. . . All of that's great. But aren't we forgetting the holiday after Christmas: New Years Eve?

Sorry for being rude, tehe. My owner always has to apologise for my mad, crazy, yet expressive articles and such. My name is Hippbee, but you call just call me Bee. One of the reasons I was called Bee was because of my hyperactive, mad personality - or so my owner says! Anyway, back to the important stuff.

New Years Eve is my favourite of all possible favourite days in the whole entire world. What I like most, I guess, is staying up late (really, really late!), and, of course, the fireworks! But it takes a lot of effort to stay up for so long, and still be able to enjoy the fireworks to the full.

At about 6pm on New Years' Eve, we have dinner with lots of coffee (caffeinated, of course; that helps you stay awake!), and a bar of chocolate afterwards - that also helps to keep you stay awake. My owner reads us a really freaky horror story, so we couldn't dream of going to sleep, and gives us all of our toys to play with so we don't get bored and feel like drifting off.

Not that I ever think of sleeping on such an important day - ah - night, that is!

Then, at 10pm, we collect our group of friends, usually about 5 people and their Neopets, who we're all good friends with, and at each persons house we have more coffee. Each walk it takes for us to get to the next friends' house, we've already worn the coffee out. We all take our New Years Planning very seriously, as you can see!

By the time we reach the Firework Waters Hill, it's about 11:30pm. We just sit and talk, and catch up, and play with all of the toys that Santa Paws gave us (as well as have another cup of coffee, after all of this caffeine we get addicted, tehe!). Our owners don't like us drinking so much coffee, but we never have it anytime else, so it doesn't matter too much.

Then, at 10 seconds to twelve, the countdown begins. This is very important, and we all recommend reading this carefully so you don't look like an unknowing, innocent firework watcher on the night. No one wants to look like that now, do they?

Ten, nine, eight. . .

The countdown has begun. At this point in time, all experiences watches turn their heads towards the firework-lighting area, and we can just see scorchios flapping around, getting the fireworks in place and testing out their fire skills for one last time.

Seven, six, five. . .

This is when we all look towards the sky, at the position where the fireworks appear each night. We hear the clock chiming, on it's final few strokes of the year.

Four, three, two. . .

So close. . .

ONE! KABOOM! DO-O-ONG!

The clock lets off an ear-ripping dong, the fireworks explode, and we all scream "ONE!" as loud as we can at the stars. This is, truly, my favourite time of the year!

Come on, 2005! We're ready to take you on! Have a great new year, everyone!
