The WereLupe Files Case 1: The Beginning Part Four

by neojolteon2

Untitled Document "Quick! Hide Colbolt!" Maylas hissed. I hid right at the doorway to ambush whoever was approaching. My new sense allowed me to hear their footsteps and their heart beat. Just when the intruders shadow was visible, I jumped out and grabbed the intruder and put one of my huge claw hands around its mouth. The intruder squirmed and tried to scream but my grip was too powerful. I could've easily crushed his or hers fragile neck. I looked down at the intruder and realized who it was.

     "Snachizzi?" Moon asked.

Snachizzi was trying to get out my grip with the look of fear on her face.

"Snachizzi calm down. Its just Colbolt. He won't hurt you," Maylas said trying to calm her. She looked up at me. I smiled showing my sharp teeth. She gave a whine and seemed to faint. Her body went limp in my arms.

"Colbolt, you didn't..." Moon trailed off.

"No!" I denied dropping Snachizzi and waving my hands up. Her body hit the floor with a thud.

"Colbolt, you better go and hide in a corner. Moon and I will take it from here and try to explain," Maylas said. I went and hid back in the corner while Maylas lightly tapped Snachizzi on the muzzle trying to wake her. Her eyes fluttered open, then she popped awake.

"Where's the Werelupe?" she asked in alarm. She sat bolt straight up.

"Its okay. The Werelupe is really Colbolt. He won't harm you." Moon said. Snachizzi looked around until she found me in the corner. I lowered my ears and tucked my tail between my legs ashamed.

"Oh my. That's Colbolt?" she asked amazed. I slowly nodded my head.

"Wait a minute. Snachizzi, weren't you supposed to be watching Khell?" Moon asked.

     "Uh oh," Snachizzi remembered.

"So, why did you come over in the first place Moon?" I asked.

"Well, I was able to hear a ruckus over at your house. I think the whole street heard it and cops may be on their way," Moon explained.

"I'll go check on Khell," Snachizzi ran out the door.

"If the police find out about you Colbolt..." Maylas didn't need to finish the sentence for me. Just then, my ears picked up sirens in the distance.

     "They're coming," I growled.

     "Who?" Moon asked.

"Cops, up this road," I said again and looked in their direction.

"You and Moon get out of here. I'll explain this to the cops," Maylas said.

Just then, Snachizzi came running in with a tied up Khell over her shoulder.

"What happened to him?" Moon asked.

"He set a trap for that other him and fell into it," Snachizzi explained.

"He's smart I'll give him that. I never expected him to set up the same trap as me," Khell said.

Red and blue light could be seen from the windows.

"Hurry! Go!" Maylas said. Moon and I ran out the back door and into the woods.

The woods seemed homely to me. With the full moon out, it was like it was day. Moon was in front as we ran from the house. After awhile, she finally stopped and went into a walk.

"How are you feeling Colbolt?" she asked turning back and looking at me.

"Big, furry, strong, just like I've felt since I've been a Werelupe. Why?" I replied.

"Just making sure you won't eat me," she said.

"I just hope there is a cure," I growled softly. We then sat down and waited for the coast is clear. We could faintly see flashing lights at my house. Finally, the lights went down the street and disappeared.

"I think its safe now," Moon said heading back.

Just then, I saw a Krawk walking down the street. I felt my Werelupe instincts taking over.

"Mmmm, food," I growled hungrily heading towards it rather than home. Moon turned around and noticed this.

"No Colbolt! Get a hold of yourself!" she hissed. She grabbed my arm and tried to pull me back but I was too strong and dragged her along. I licked my muzzle ready to pounce. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my arm. I turned to see Moon had sunk her teeth into my arm. I turned my attention to her a growled fiercely. She released my arm and slowly backed away scared.

"Now Colbolt, get a hold of yourself," she whimpered. I growled again but then snapped out of it.

"Thanks, I needed that," I said shamefully. We resumed heading back to the house.

"So what did you tell the police?" I asked once we got back.

"I just said that the burglars broke in again and we defended them off." Maylas said.

     "Good," I complimented.

"But while you were gone, I looked up Werelupes again and found bad news," Malyas continued.

     "What?" I said afraid.

"There is no known cure to turn you back," he said sadly.

My ears went down and my tail went limp.

"There's... no cure?" I said sorrowfully.

Maylas nodded his head sadly. I felt like running back into the woods and never be seen again.

"Don't worry Colbolt. There's no known cure, not that there isn't one." Moon said trying to cheer me up.

"Geesh. I can't believe Colbolt is a Werelupe. This is so cool!" Khell said happily.

"No one is to know of this Khell. Colbolt could be put into real danger if anyone finds out," Snachizzi scorned him.

"We'll have to keep it a secret then. No one here can tell about Colbolt being a Werelupe," Maylas said. The sun began to rise.

"Thanks everyone," I said a little more happily.

And that's how it all began. How I became a Werelupe and how my friends stuck by me. But that wasn't the end, our next adventure was just about to happen....
