Spudd, The Noodles, and The Gang

by spuddie_hang

"Erm... I think I'll have the noodles," said Sherrie, handing the waiter the menu. Turning to Spudd, she smiled and winked. "Would you like some noodles too, Spuddie?"

Spudd looked up at Sherrie. "Is this another clue, Mum?" she asked.

Sherrie chuckled and nodded. "Okay then, I would gladly order some noodles, no spices please."

Spudd and her mother were at a new restaurant in Lamponville. Right before Sherrie and Spudd exited the house, Sherrie had told Spudd the would be having some very "special" guests. Spudd wanted to know, so Sherrie had told her that she would give Spudd some clues to find out who their guests were. So far, the clues were KN, Number N, and Noodles.

When the waiter brought their noodles, Sherrie grabbed for Spudd's dish before she got it.

"MUM!" cried Spudd, drawing attention.

"One sec, strawberry muffin," replied Sherrie, her back turned to Spudd.

Spudd groaned.

"Okay, done." Sherrie handed the dish of noodles to Spudd and smiled. "Eat up!" laughed Sherrie.

Raising her eyebrow, which is peculiar because Gelerts don't have eyebrows, Spudd poked at the noodles with her fork. PING! "Huh?" She jabbed at the noodles again. PING! "How strange." Spudd started separating the noodles from each other and soon discovered tiny instruments placed under the sauce. "MUM! Are you trying to make me ill on purpose?" Spudd cried.

Sherrie laughed. "I'm sorry, strawberry muffin but it was just a clue. Sorry Spuddie," she explained.

"Hmmm..." Spudd collected the tiny instruments. A drum, a triangle, a guitar, and a microphone. "Noodles... KN.... Number N... Instruments?? Noodles, food. KN, initials or letters. Number N, a strange sort of number... instruments... instruments... Noodles... The- the NOODLES!" Spudd spun around and stared at her mother. "The Noodles?" Sherrie smiled. "THE BAND?!?" Sherrie nodded. "WOOHOO!"

Other guests turned around and stared at the dancing Gelert atop the table.

"Spudd, get down!" scolded Sherrie. She grabbed Spudd's tail, pulling her down. "You're drawing attention!"

"YELP!" cried Spudd.

When Spudd calmed down, Sherrie explained, "Noodle and I met in High School. We weren't really friends, just classmates. Well, I happened to bump into her on the streets of Lamponville. I talked with her, and I asked her to dinner with her pets."

"This is so cooool!" cried Spudd happily. "So, when they gonna come?"

Looking at her watch, Sherrie mumbled. "Hmmm, right... about... now!"

Suddenly, a voice rung out. "WELCOME NEOPIAN MEN AND WOMEN AND ALL THE PETS! WELCOME TO THE NEW LAMPONVILLE RESTAURANT, WEASERFEET! AND NOW, TO PRESENT THE GRAND OPENING OF WEASERFEET, THE NOODLES!"

The audience turned to watch the stage. The violet curtains parted and there, smack in the middle of the stage, were the Noodles. Everyone cheered. Number Nimmo started with clacking his drumsticks together three times and the music began. Firey_sack strummed her guitar happily, KN fiddled her violin, and Bhubuh sang at the top of his lungs.

Happily, Spudd clapped her paws to the tune of the song. When the song ended and the last note of the guitar faded, everyone clapped enthusiastically. The band bowed and left the stage.

Here they come! thought Spudd happily.

"Hey Sherrie!" cried Noodle.

"Hey! We saved you seats!" Sherrie waved happily at the approaching band. Taking their seats, Spudd blushed and started eating her noodles, but her fork kept missing her mouth every time.

"Gu355 5h3 15 5t4r5tru(k3d," said Noodle to Sherrie in L337 5P34K.

"Hey, no fair!" cried Spudd.

"Y3p," replied Sherrie, laughing. "It's okay, Spuddie. We're not talking about you." Noodle smiled and her cheeks were bulging. She was trying to keep in her laughter. Spudd frowned.

After dinner, Spudd got to talk to each band member. They were all sincere and all had a great sense of humour; they were not half bad. Almost as good as their music.

At the front porch of Spudd's house, Noodle said goodbye and goodnight. "We're off to our hotel room. See ya Spudd, Sherrie."

Spudd gasped. She ran up to Noodle and grabbed her arm. "Please, you can stay out our house. Please, please stay!" cried Spudd. Sherrie sighed.

"Is it okay with you?" Noodle looked up at Sherrie.

Sherrie looked at the pleading face of Spudd and crossed her arms. "Guess I have no choice," she surrendered.

Screaming with joy, Spudd happily pulled Noodle and her pets inside the house. "Wait 'til I show you all my room. It's like a shrine for you guys!"

Meanwhile...

"Okay, boss, whaddya call us here for?" A humungous Skeith stepped out of the shadows and into the light.

Towering over him was a huge, shadow Grarrl. In a hoarse voice, the Grarrl spoke, "I gots a plan for you," he said in a stern voice. "Jo-jo, Jake, Ruke, Joey, Marlew." Two Lupes, a Kougra, a Gelert, and two Scorchios stepped out of the shadow, joining the first Skeith. "You guys were specially chosen for your ability to kidnap famous Neopians without getting caught."

"Aww, really boss?" asked one Lupe affectionately.

"NO!" barked the Grarrl The Lupe whined. "I want you to go the Lamponville Hotel, where The Noodles are booked for the next three nights. Bag 'em, tranquillise 'em, just bring 'em here alive. Got that?"

The hoodlums nodded. "As for the rest of you, go run five miles to keep in shape. You guys turning fatter and heavier than me." The Grarrl laughed hideously as he watched his pack go outside start running.

Back at Spudd's house...

"CATCH NUMBER!"

Number Nimmo hopped off the bed and caught the Poogle plushie that flew across the room. "KN!" He swung the plushie at his sister.

"OOF!" KN toppled over and landed in their trash bin while catching the plushie.

"Hey! No fair!" laughed KN as she climbed out of the trash bin. Everyone giggled.

"SPUDD! It's bedtime! Go to sleep! NOW!"

"All right Mum!" Spudd shouted back. "Sorry guys. Bet you are not use to bedtimes, being famous and all."

"Oh, we have bedtimes. We're still kids, remember, just singing famous kids," laughed Firey_Sack. "But that doesn't change a thing. We still have bedtimes and have to do chores."

"Yep, Firey_Sack's right." KN handed the plushie back to Spudd. "We'll be downstairs if you want to come screaming and surprise attack us."

"G'night," they all said in unison.

"G'night," replied Spudd, closing her bedroom door.

***

"Boss!" The Grarrl looked up and saw his the group he sent to kidnap The Noodles.

"Where are the Noodles? Don't tell me you destroyed them!" cried the Grarrl madly.

"No Boss, they're just not at the Hotel," said the Scorchio.

"Well, then where are they?" screamed the Grarrl

"Somewhere you'd to go." The Scorchio held up a picture of a strawberry Gelert, Spudd. "Remember the runt that kicked the frozen butts of The Gelert Pack and survived a Koi Criminal Attack?" The Grarrl nodded. "Guess what? The Noodles at her Home Sweet Home."

The Grarrl's eyes narrowed. "So? What's wrong?"

The Skeith stepped forward. "Well, if we meet her, we might get our behinds karate kicked or somethin'."

The Grarrl raged, "It is just ONE Gelert! Go get The Noodles! And don't come back until you find them!"

The pack hesitated for a moment and then all left silently.

Midnight...

"Okay, guys. Boss is counting on us, and we won't let the big guy down right?" Everyone nodded. The Skeith continued. "You three watch and stay on guard, the rest of you come with me."

The two Lupes and a Scorchio stayed hidden in the bushes as the others walked up to the front porch. They pried the door open silently and quietly sneaked in.

"AHHHHHH!!"

"LET GO OF ME!"

"WHO ARE YOU?!"

Spudd woke up to horrible screams and shouts in the darkness of her room. "Huh?" she wondered. Jumping out of bed, Spudd exited her room. She walked up to Sherrie's room and knocked. She heard a groan and a bed squeak. The door opened.

"Whaddya want?" asked Sherrie drowsily in her bedclothes.

"I heard some screams downstairs," said Spudd.

"That's silly, why didn't I hear them then--"

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH! HELLLP!"

"I stand corrected," Sherrie continued. Running downstairs with Spudd, they both saw dark figures throwing bags out the door.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" called Spudd.

One of the dark figures looked up. "I'll handle this," it said. The figure stepped out of the shadow and appeared to be a Kougra.

"Uh oh..." mumbled Sherrie. The Kougra leaped forward to pounce on Sherrie.

"HEY!" Spudd leaped up and crashed into the Kougra in mid-air.

While the Kougra and Spudd clawed and bit each other, the rest of the pack continued to struggle stuffing the Noodles into the bag and throwing them out.

"Let them go!" cried Sherrie. She took out a Chia Bubble Gun and shot it at the biggest figure, which was the Skeith. As the bubble hit him on the chest, the Skeith laughed and said sarcastically, "Ouch, that hurt." Chuckling, he went up to Sherrie and grinned his ugly grin. "Get her, boys."

Sherrie gasped. A Gelert and a Scorchio ran up to Sherrie and thrust a bag over her head.

In the fight, Spudd saw Sherrie being carried out in the corner of her eye. "MUM!" she cried.

The Kougra grabbed her tail and pulled. Spudd yelped as the Kougra swung her into the kitchen sink. Groaning, Spudd opened one eye to see the Kougra and his friends run out of the door. She wheezed and suddenly fainted.

***

"Spudd! My gosh Spudd! WAKE UP!"

Rubbing her eyes, Spudd yawned. Standing beside her was Chaeos and Sky. She looked around. The place was a mess and she was sitting on a ripped up couch. "How'd I get here?" asked Spudd.

"Wow! With your intelligence I should've expect you to know we carried you here," said Sky. Chaeos smiled.

"Why are you here? How'd you find me?" Spudd sat up and placed her paw on her head to feel her temperature.

"I called earlier to find out what was for homework and since no one answered I came over. I didn't know sitting in the sink was part of our homework. Well, I have the whole weekend to sit in one, so whatever."

"Har de har har har, very funny, Sky." Spudd stood up and explained to Sky about what happened. Her story was filled with "Oohs" and "Aahs" by Sky whenever Spudd said, "The Noodles."

"So, what are you going to do about it?" Sky asked Spudd.

"Look for them. Sherrie is with them, and I need my breakfast." Spudd walked out of the door with Sky and Chaeos following right behind her.

Three hours, ten minutes, and thirty eight seconds later...

"IT'S NO USE!" cried Spudd.

Sniffing the ground, Sky stared up at Spudd with her eyes. "What's no use?" she asked.

"THIS!" Spudd kicked at a clump of grass. "We can't even find their scent trail! And we're Gelerts for Neopia's sake!"

"Hey, just because you cant find your Mum doesn't mean you have to start making fun of the Gelerts," said Sky calmly.

"Uhh, I think I found something." Sky and Spudd looked at Chaeos. He was sitting right next to a pond.

"That's a pond, Chaeos. You know, those holes with water in them?" said Sky.

"OH!" exclaimed Chaeos, who then continued smiling. Suddenly, he toppled over backwards and his back landed on a rock. "OWIE!" he cried.

Spudd ran over to him worried. "You okay, Chaeos?" she asked.

"Yeh, I just tripped," he said.

"How can you trip if you're not even walking?" asked Sky, helping Chaeos up. Chaeos shrugged.

"Geez! You landed on a rock! That has gotta hurt!" cried Spudd. She looked at the rock for a while. It started to dim in her eyes and suddenly she went into La La land. The sky was green, the grass was blue, and the rocks were brown, and the dirt was grey. "What the--" started Spudd, until her eyes fixed on a big rock near a pond. She watched the rock miraculously be pushed down like a button. The pond started to drain until it was empty. Walking over to the pond, Spudd took one step forward in the hole where the pond use to be...

"SPUDD!" Spudd turned to answer Sky's call, but was too late. She fell into the pond with a splash.

"What were you doing?" cried Sky, running over to the edge of the pond.

"I don't know," replied Spudd before diving under.

"SPUDD!" Sky jumped into the pond and Chaeos followed her.

Swimming into the dark depths of the pond, Spudd wondered, Can a pond be this deep? She continued swimming until she bumped into a glass bottom. NO! she thought. She was almost out of air, and she was at the bottom. Then, she heard a cry. Turning to where she heard the cry come from, she swam over to the wall of the pond. Carefully feeling over the wall, she felt something metal. She pushed it. The whole bottom portion of the pond wall opened and water gushed out into a strange room bordered by walls with only one door. Her head out of the water, she swam towards the door and opened the door. On the other side of the door was a little stream that ran through another large room. And in the middle of the room was her Mum and The Noodles.

"Spudd!" Spudd turned around to see Sky and Chaeos emerging out of the water. Wheezing, they swam up to Spudd.

"What is wrong with you--" Spudd slapped her paw over Sky's snout and pointed into the room. "You got a plan?" asked Sky. Looking up at the dark, rocky ridges of the room and the freaky looking vines hanging from the moss covering the ceiling, she turned to Chaeos. "Can you climb?" she asked him.

***

"OH, we're doomed! Doomed!" cried KN.

"Shhhhh!" murmured Noodle.

"Poor Spudd," frowned Sherrie.

"Poor us!" cried Firey_Sack.

"Yeah, we have a gig today at the club!" cried Number Nimmo.

Suddenly, all of them heard a yell that sounded like a cross between Tarzan's yell and a Gelert Howl. Looking up, they all saw a small figure swinging from vine to vine in the air. KN smiled. "Its a bird! Its a plane! It's... it's... a Gelert?!?" Chaeos kept swinging until he finally crashed into the wall at the other end.

"Go see what it is!" cried the Grarrl All of his people ran over to Chaeos to see what he was.

"All right, now!" Sky howled and jumped out of the stream and onto the ground. She ran up to the Grarrl, yipping and howling. She pounced on him and then pounced off. When the Grarrl started to get up, she pounced on him again. "STOP IT!" he cried. Smiling, Spudd ran over to the hostages. Untying them, she told them how to get out and pushed everyone of them into the stream.

"Woohoo! Guys!" The gang that ran over to Chaeos turned around. Spudd threw out a bag of NP (which was really filled with rocks she found at the bottom of the pond). The pets eyes bulged. They all ran over to the rocks, their hearts filled with greed. Chaeos, finally free, climbed up the wall again and swung from vine to vine, back to the exit. After pouncing on the Grarrl one last time, Sky jumped into the stream and swam away, Spudd following right behind her. Before leaving the room, Spudd grabbed one loose rock from the wall and threw it at the Grarrl. The Grarrl started crying.

"What kind of gang leader are you?" she asked before diving under and swimming away.

***

"WOOO! GO NOODLES!" Spudd jumped up and down on her seat, cheering on her favourite band on-stage. Sherrie, who owed Spudd her life, just sat in her seat, laughing her head off. Clapping her paws and singing along with the band, Spudd saw Bhuhbuh beckon her to come on-stage. Happily, she jumped from one table to the next until she reached the stage. Bhuhbuh handed her the microphone and laughing Spudd sang as hard as she could. The audience laughed. The Noodles laughed. Spudd sang on and on and on and on and on and on and on.....
