Few people realise how writing a good application will get them guild
council position they want. As a guild owner I see many MANY applications where
there are misspellings, grammar mistakes and lack of supporting facts.
With more and more guilds being created, they will need people to fill those
guild council positions! With an ever growing population of members, it seems
YOU the user, will always have competition :) Let's make sure you will get that
spot by following these very important tips.
First, what kind of guild are you in? For example, if it is an adoption guild
(the guild adopts pets) then it would be in the best interest of the guild owner
to hear about the pets you have adopted, instead of your massive car collection
:) When the guild owner views the application and sees you have experience in
this subject they will quickly accept the application and trash the others that
don't even say they have experience what so ever.
Probably the second most important tip is SPELLING, if you cannot (most importantly)
spell the guild's name, the guild owner's name, or what you're applying for...
you're pretty much out of luck! This shows that you don't care enough to at
least run to a dictionary or even an online dictionary site to make sure you're
spelling "experienced" correctly :)
The more spelling errors you make, the worse the guild owner thinks of YOU,
1-3 errors can be forgotten :) not all users have gone through all of their
years of education, but if you continue to make mistakes this makes the guild
owner believe you are incompetent!
What goes hand-in-hand with spelling? GRAMMAR! Yes, now at this point you have
checked your application for spelling mistakes, but what about grammar? You
cannot get your point across if the reader simply cannot understand what you
are saying!
So, "Battles played OK am good" doesn't work! 'I am not the best,
but I am experienced with the battling.' does!
These tips will get you far, but why not give it your absolute best? Here are
more tips, although they are not necessary they are important nonetheless!
What you'll do in the guild: If you are applying for the council position 'Treasurer'
it would be to your advantage if you include that you are very good with money
and you have taken a small amount of NP and have turned it into thousands :)
Whatever position you apply for, you'll have to do that sort of 'work' for
the guild. Whether it be treasurer or advisor, if you don't have any experience
don't write that you have none! If you do, however have experience, make sure
you write about it, in great detail :)
Another good point, is NOT listing all your faults, such as 'my other account
was frozen' or 'I'm only here for the items' because it probably won't get you
the application!!
Remember, if they rejected your application once :) remember what you put down,
make it better, and try again! Also, don't worship the guild owner in the application.
Also its good to mention "I admire you", but it's bad to type "You
are my IDOL! I will not stop applying until you admit your love for me!!"
That's a very, very bad way to apply :D |
