Do You Know When Your NeoPet's Birthday Is?

by cjackson151

Have you ever wondered what day your pet's birthday is? Do you constantly wish that you had marked down the day you created it on a calendar somewhere? Well, believe it or not, there's an easy way to find out the day your NeoPet came into existence! All you need is a calendar, (last year's calendar could be helpful too) and for those of you who are bad with math, you may want to use a calculator. I'll break this into steps to make it a little easier.

How to figure out the birthday of a pet UNDER a year old:

STEP 1:

Look up your pet's profile. (You can do this either through quick-ref or by looking up your pet's name in the search box.) Find the part that mentions your pets age in days. Write down that number, or you can just check back later if you don't have a pen and paper handy and you forget the number.

STEP 2:

Take your pet's age in days, and subtract it from 365. It's easier shown like this: 365 - your pets age in days = the amount of days until your pet's next birthday.

STEP 3:

Take a calendar and using the number you got from step 2, count ahead the days one by one. (If you are really good with math, you can count ahead by weeks instead of days.) Once you get up to the number that you got from your equation, then you've found the day that your pet was created. It's a lot more accurate then just trying to think back to when you created it, especially if you adopted the pet from the pound.

STEP 4:

Now what do you do now that you know your pets birthday? Mark it on your calendar, or put it in your pet's lookup. When your pet's birthday comes, do something nice for it, paint it a new colour or if you're not that rich, buy it a chocolate faerie cake. And don't forget to buy it a birthday card.

How to figure out the birthday of a pet OVER a year old:

STEP 1:

This is where last year's calendar could come in handy. There are two ways to do this but one is a lot easier if you still have that calendar. Go in your pet's lookup and find it's age in days. (This is almost the same as what you do for a pet under a year old, but the calculations are a bit different.)

STEP 2:

Take that number and subtract 365 from it. It's easiest shown like this: Your pet's age in days - 365 = the amount of days since your pet last had it's birthday. (If your pet is over two years old then it's the same except you subtract 365 twice. So it would look like this: Your pet's age - (2 x 365) = the amount of days since your pet last had it's birthday.)

STEP 3:

If you have last years calendar then all you have to do is take the number you got from step two and go backwards that many days on your calendar. But seeing as not everyone carries a spare calendar from last year around, then there's a third step using this year's calendar. Take 365 and minus the number you got in step two from it. In an example form: 365 - Amount of time since your pet's last birthday = Amount of time until your pet's next birthday. (Got a headache yet?)

STEP 4:

Take your calendar and count forward in days equal to the number you got in step 3. Then you'll have found your pet's birthday. (Phew, I bet you thought you'd never get through all that, did you?)

STEP 5:

Put your pet's birthday up on your calendar. Remember, you missed it's other birthday(s) so you owe them one big time! And NeoPets never forget... Kidding. They'll forgive you... Especially if you get them a nice big present, like that Battledome weapon that they've been whining at you to get them for ages...

Okay, for those of you who can't LIVE without an example, I'll do one with my pet, Nickey151. She is 201 days old, (As of this moment.) So I take 365 and subtract 201 from it. 365 - 201 = 164. I counted ahead on the calendar and ended up with June 21st. That also so happens to be the day I started playing NeoPets. (It says so on my look up.) So I know my calculations work. If you think you made a mistake, try redoing the calculations or try counting the days again. (Note: The calculations change every day, as your NeoPet gets older.)
