The Mystery at the PetPet Lodge

by neofrank321

The summer holidays begin and the PetPet lodge is crowded with PetPets that want to get in. A patient little Puppyblew, carrying a Green PetPet Paintbrush that his owner gave him, stands in the long wait up line. After a long time, the Puppyblew finally got his turn at the counter and registered for a room his favourite hotel, the Astropeta.

He packed his entire luggage in a little suitcase and headed towards the Astropeta Hotel. As soon as he arrived, a Neotrak met him and took his luggage to the third floor. The first thing that the Puppyblew did was put his Green PetPet Paintbrush under his bed because he was so afraid that he would lose it.

He went down to the swimming pool and took a quick swim. There, he met a few other PetPets, a Miamouse, Warf, Kadoatie, and a Doglefox. They so stayed in the hotel. The Puppyblew told them about how his owner loved him and gave him a Green PetPet Paintbrush. They were soon called to the dinner table at six o'clock.

Everyone complimented on the exceptional dinner they had, which consisted a Puzzle Fruit, Lunchables Mega Pack, Rainbow Carrot and, of course, a delicious Rainbow Vanilla Negg for desert. Afterwards, they headed back to their rooms and enjoyed themselves there. Puppyblew brushed his teeth, turned out the lights and tucked himself into bed. He soon grew tired and his eyes slowly began to close, until he was fast asleep.

In the middle of the night, Puppyblew heard a small noise. When he looked under his bed, the Green Paintbrush he had put under the bed had disappeared. Frightened, Puppyblew sat on his bed until morning, afraid to make a sound or move an inch. At the call of dawn, he quickly picked up the telephone and called the Inspector Hotline. Inspector Snorkle answered the phone and appeared in Puppyblew's front door within five minutes. Puppyblew told Inspector Snorkle the situation and about the noise he had heard in the middle of the night. Inspector Snorkle then sniffed for clues with his great sense of smell and his tiny reliable magnifying glass. He then found green speckles of paint and crumbs of crackers all over the floor.

Inspector Snorkle called a meeting for all the PetPets on the third floor to meet at the lounge. He began his speech, "In case you were wondering why I am here, a Green Paintbrush was stolen from Puppyblew's room at night. I am here to investigate this case and to crack it, of course."

Everyone had a look of horror across his or her faces immediately. They all glanced at each other as if they didn't know what was going on. Inspector Snorkle continued, " I now want to do an interview with all of you individually, please meet me at Puppyblew's room as soon as possible."

Everyone was soon crowded around Puppyblew's room, but no one had seen Inspector Snorkle. Where could be? Inspector Snorkle suddenly steps out of the elevator, carrying a piece of paper and pencil with him. The interviewed then started and these are the facts that Inspector Snorkle got from it:

In the afternoon, Inspector Snorkle had called another urgent meeting. "I would like to do one more thing before I make any assumptions. Now if you would kindly allow me to search your bedroom, that would be really great."

Shortly, everybody was standing in their front doors, waiting for their room to be checked by Inspector Snorkle. After all the investigations of the rooms, this is what Inspector Snorkle recorded down as notes:

Everyone then had his or her dinner, although none of them wanted any after this case of theft. Inspector Snorkle stood up to the stage in the middle of the dinner and began to speak, "Ahem, now if I could just have your attention for a while, I would like to announce that I have found out who had stolen the Green PetPet Paintbrush from Puppyblew's room. I do not want to tell who is it though, because this is private thing. Now, I want you all to each walk through a different door, and I will arrest the thief to the Petlice Station. Who is it? It is none of your concern."

Everyone did as they were told. They each walked through one of the eight doors in the room. Inspector Snorkle then exited the hotel and arrested one of the PetPets onto the petlice car.

Can you figured out which was the PetPet that stole the Green PetPet Paintbrush?

Answers:
1. Miamouse couldn't have been the one to steal the Green PetPet Paintbrush because Miamice are originally green! There is really no point of painting herself over with green!
2. Warf also couldn't have stolen the Green PetPet Paintbrush because the Warf didn't like crackers or the colour green. Instead, the Warf liked Neggs and the colour yellow!
3. Kadoatie couldn't have stolen the Green PetPet Paintbrush because Kadoaties make really loud noises in the dark. If Kadoatie were the thief, she would cry loudly because Puppyblew turned his lights out.
4. It comes to that Doglefox is the thief! He had left cracker crumbs all over the floor and he had also dripped some of the green paint! Foxes (for example, the Grey Fox) are good climbers (probably climbed through the window) and have footprints that are quite small.
