GAMES ROOM - When you go into the games room, there are four "Games Cabinets".
They are:
-Puzzles
-Action
-Luck/Chance
-Featured Game
But only one can be fatal to your Neopoints. That one is the "Luck/Chance"
cabinet.
This article will discuss some of the different luck and chance games and
how good they are. Here we go:
Bilge Dice
Bet 10 NP, 50 NP, 100 NP, or 200 NP to play a dice game against three different
pirate opponents. Most of the time, the pirate opponents play like an average
player and get decent to pretty high scores.
You roll dice with number on them from 1-6, trying to get the "1" and "4"
qualifiers and four high dice for your score. (5s or 6s)
If you are going for a lucky streak trophy, you are going to need to win 8+
games in a row. All that matters for this is a little strategy, but mostly lucky
dice.
Black Pawkeet Slots
Bet on different lines, set your NP bet amount, and pull the lever and hope
for the best. (and the best probably isn't good)
Brucey B Slots
Bet on different lines, set your NP bet amount, and pull the lever and hope
for the best. (And the best probably isn't good)
Cheeseroller
Roll cheese down a hill pressing different buttons that make you push the
cheese, hold it cheese, dive left, dive right, or do a forward somersault. If
you are really lucky, and finish in less than a minute, you get to maybe get
a high-score, get some Neopoints and keep the cheese. Occasionally you may not
do that well, but get a couple Neopoints. Lots of times you'll lose and get
nothing, though.
This is all, of course, if you know the name of one of the cheeses to buy
for this game.
Dice-A-Roo
Roll dice, winning different items and trying to make your way to the final
silver dice, and hopefully win the jackpot.
You usually lose more that you win in Dice-A-Roo.
Double or Nothing
Flip the coin for 10 NP. If it's tails you lose and you don't get to keep
whatever amount of Neopoints you have won so far in that particular game. If
it's heads you can flip it again and risk losing, or collect your Neopoints.
Gormball
It's like Hot Potato; keep throwing that Gormball around the circle, and you
have the option to wait several seconds before throwing too. The more times
it passes around the circle without exploding, the greater chance of exploding.
The only useful prize from this is if you eliminate all other opponents and
win the game. You get an item which wasn't worth much the time I won Gormball.
If you get enough bonuses during the game, you might get a high-score, or even
a *gasp* trophy!
Grarrl Keno
Choose some eggs, make a bet, hope for the best, and get ready to lose.
It's all luck, and I strongly recommend not to play this.
Grumpy Old King
Choose some random words and see if you got the king to laugh. If you did,
he'll give you a score from 1-1000. Most of the times you won't even get him
to laugh, though. They say that you get a secret avatar if you get a really
high score on this game, but of course that's rubbish. =) The good thing about
this game is it costs nothing to play.
Okay, so it doesn't suck your Neopoints, but I just wanted to add it here,
because of the horrible odds.
Guess the Card
In this game you pay 10 NP to play a simple card game against your active
pet. You choose one of 6 cards. Your Neopet guesses what it is, and you earn
50 NP for every time your pet is right. If your Neopet is wrong, you have to
pay the NP to start over and try again.
To make Neopoints, you have to win 1 in every 4 times, which will not happen
if you play for awhile.
JubJub Blackjack
You can bet from 100 to 400 NP to play a hand of simple blackjack against
your pet.
This is a great way to make Neopoints… if you are lucky. Otherwise you will
end up losing Neopoints.
Scorchy Slots
This is a better choice for a slot machine that the Black Pawkeet or Brucey
B slots, however the odds still aren't good. Luckily, you can hold different
reels so they don't spin. Occasionally you may win faeries or map pieces and
stuff like that.
And although you may start thinking you are slowly but surely making money,
think again. You are slowly losing money. That's the way these slot machines
work.
Scratchcard Kiosk
Waste, erm, I mean spend 600 NP to buy a scratchcard.
And although you can win big, it's a good choice to resell the scratchcards
you buy in your shop.
And definitely if you get a good scratchcard (i.e.- Peak O Plenty Scratchcard),
you should resell it in your shop for tens of thousands of Neopoints.
Snow Wars
This is the Neopian version of the popular game, Battleship. For the gold
trophy and some cool snowballs, you have to play this over and over, watching
the computer seemingly "see" where your pieces are located. I'm serious. But
the reward is well worth it, if you are willing to use thousands of Neopoints.
Test Your Strength
They should rename this to "The Ultimate Money Sucker". For 600 NP a whack,
you get to hit a cool little red button with a wooden mallet and see the red
marking go up and up and up… to the word "Terrible". If you are very lucky,
you might win something really valuable and rare, but most likely by that time
you'll be at a net loss for this game, even counting the item you'd get!
Vending Machine
Hey look at this machine! You insert an ultra-expensive Nerkmid token and
get old cheap food… cool!
Seriously, you can get great stuff out of here like paint brushes. Unfortunately,
that's not likely. You're getting the hang of this "Luck/Chance" thing! The
major perk here would be the avatar, since there are no guarantees for what
you'll get out of the machine.
Wheel of Excitement
The last of the Luck/Chance games I've selected as the most dangerous to your
Neopoints. The majority of the time you'll pay 150 NP and get back something
like 63 NP. However, you can get things like:
10000 NP
2000 NP
500 NP
A Faerie Blessing
Magic Item
Well those are the main Neopoint-sucking Luck/Chance games, and I hope you
learned that you should go play Meerca Chase instead of gambling on the slots.
But if you do decide to play Luck/Chance games, best of luck… you'll probably
need it!
