Pet Name: Orion
Owner: kakalake
Breed: Lenny

About Orion:
Once upon a time there lived a grand hunter who roamed the lands, saving towns far and wide from feral Moehogs and stampeding Tonus. He was a Lenny of colossal strength and wisdom, with a giving heart and a great hairdo. He-

Who are we kidding here? The Lenny named Orion started out as a total tool. If he had to do anything more than posing with his sword he'd poke himself in the eye. With the tip. Lennies are one of the most ridicu- *notices glares from the audience* -lously awesome species in Neopia. *coughs* With their graceful necks and long, strong legs that can carry them great distances.

Orion was once a Neopet like any other. Or not. He was banished from his hometown due to his rash behaviour and brash attitude towards others he thought himself superior to. Rumour has it he once kicked an Elderly Xweetok in the shins as she was crossing the road! Only after his exile did he learn to protect, respect and love the others around him.

At first he thought about becoming a thief, as he never really was an honorable Lenny. But during his first week of camping out in the forest after his banishment he got robbed! How humiliating that was for him. The thieves even ripped out a few of his feathers in the scuffle. He decided being a criminal wasn't the way to go and instead made his way to Meridell where he helped with the harvests for a few weeks.

Those weeks gave him a lot of time to think and he came to be mortified of his previous rude behaviour. Instead, he barely interacted with the other harvesters at all – which he was rather ashamed of as well as he wanted to turn over a new leaf and make some true friends. But harvests don't last long and he soon found himself travelling around Neopia, taking odd jobs here and there. As a vendor he learned to be respectful to customers. Helping out in a library he learned a lot about Neopia's history. Being a messenger taught him to make use of his abilities to run very fast. Stocking shops he built up strength. He learned finesse at a tailor shop. Developed an eye for detail at a pastry bakery.

One fateful day, shortly leaving a travelling group of gypsies to whom he had sold a last batch of cloths he had from a previous trading stint, he came across a band of bullies picking on an unyielding Manjeer. Though the little petpet was putting up a rather spectacular fight, it was bound to lose to its many attackers. Orion, brandishing his walking stick, launched himself into the fray. He took a few hits but he must have landed quite a few as well since the band soon dispersed into the surrounding woods. He'd noted in satisfaction that two of them were crying, another limping. He crouched down to the cowering Manjeer who stared at him through distrusting eyes and gently patted its head. Then he turned around and went on his way to get out of those haunting woods. And the petpet decided to follow.

After a few days of wary trust the Manjeer grew bolder until it was walking besides Orion without fear. On that day Orion declared its name to be Sirius, for its serious demeanor. And he warned it that they had a long way ahead of them – crossing the desert to make their way to Altador. And so a journey for the new friends began.
