About Unkink:
It all started with a girl.

A little girl of about five years, with roses for cheeks and curly white locks, tied up in ribbons that graced her shoulders

Her name was Chloe, and she is who I thank for my being. It's from her young brain, her electrical spurts that create imagination, where I first stepped paws on this earth.

Chloe was a lonely child. Happy, but very lonely, as her mother came down with a condition when she was very young where she could have no more children. Doctors of those days knew next to nothing, and they did not want to take their chances. So it was with this loneliness, this absence of brothers and sisters, that Chloe began to whip up her own friends, from the figments of her mind.

I was one of the first. I popped out from her mind's eye first as just a shadow. I would disappear when the sun's rays came floating through the window, leaving Chloe's and my playtime to come only in the evenings. Soon, I began to take form, little by little, in the shape of a kitten. Chloe loved to play tricks on me, wiggle her baby-fat fingers under the bed, only to quickly pull them back up before I made my attack. I learned all of my tricks from this one little girl.

Soon, items in the house started going missing. The washcloth left on the living room floor, dishes and forks. Doors would become locked and unlocked. Chloe's parents started blaming her for the deeds, to which her only reply was that it was her black cat.

From under the bed, I smiled a mischievous grin.

The parents started growing increasingly worried about their baby daughter. That she was seeing things, suffering from amnesia, or something. So they called in the local doctor to look into her brain through her eyes and medical magic.

The doctor started making more and more frequent visits, Chloe started ignoring me, telling me to go away, that I wasn't her friend, I was just her imagination.

Soon enough, she didn't see me at all.

The years passed, I watched Chloe grow up, new families move in and out of the old house, until finally, the house was crushed by the hands of man. Deemed 'unlivable' they took metal and noise and broke the house to the ground.

Now, with nowhere else to go, I ascended on the town, creeped through the cracks of cozy houses in the night. I took enjoyment out of stealing their keys, flickering lights. Snickering silently at the frightened looks on their faces and the confusion I brought to their homes.

Of course, after a while, I would switch houses, find another loving family that could not see me, and mess with their brains. That's how I now spend my existence, wreaking havoc on the unsuspecting, laughing in the dark.

And every once in a while, I stumble across a child, one who has not yet been tainted by the forces of reality, and I know they can see me; Creeping across their rooms and slipping under the crease in their closet doors. A look of pure wonder and amusement gracing their faces, just like that of the little blonde-headed girl who first saw me through the shadows.
